SanJuan Pools allowed a pool company out of Columbia, Illinois who had an office in O'Fallon, MO to…read morenot only incorrectly install pools and concrete, but also allows the installer to take advantage of a chronically ill single Mother trying to provide a safe place for her children and the only safe form of exercise for myself. I have been battling with Destination Pools formerly Pools and Beyond, since my pool was installed. According to a representative they sent to my home as a mediator for SanJuan Pools, he stated he was personally asked by Kirk Sullivan, the owner of San Juan pools, to have Destination Pools address the issues. Since this pool was installed, I have had major issues. Outdoor Systems/Destination Pools is aware of the issues but wants to again point the finger at someone else. If you install something incorrectly, you winterize a pool incorrectly, it's no one else's fault but YOURS. I'm supposed to call the manufacturer when you are the person responsible? I believe that is customer service on your part and your responsibility to repair the issues. It's not defective, you installed it wrong. So it's not a warranty issue. SanJuan states they have a 30 year guarantee on their fiberglass pools yet I still sit here 3 years later waiting for my issues to be addressed. I have a Pentair UV Disinfection Sterilizer that was not installed correctly or winterized correctly that is not functioning. My son is allergic to chlorine. Yet all I can get from the home office is an unprofessional representative, Marianne, speaking to me like I'm bothering her. As a Veteran, with all the issues I have, I have yet to get this project complete, even reaching out to the owner, Kirk Sullivan. BBB has been notified and this installer wants to argue the facts when everything was documented. The mediator that claimed Kirk Sullivan sent him did get Destination Pools to dig up the concrete and replace it. It turns out that the mediator wasn't an employee of SanJuan after all. Shame on you Kirk Sullivan, I gave you the opportunity to make this right and you ignored me. As a $70k project sits unfinished, I am forced to move forward to have someone help me get it finished. Maybe I need to have a local media come and look at the issues and have them on he news. I'll see what my attorney suggests. After I finished my google review, Attorney General's office for the state of Missouri and Illinois. Not sure how many times you can point the finger at someone else for your mistakes but there seems to be a trend. You install it wrong, own it and fix it. Don't blame other people. I just read another review from a dissatisfied customer of Destination Pools and just because you have family members working for you does not mean they do not lie. Coming from the guy with all the "excuses," that made me laugh. I am also aware the tile I paid for is sitting in your office. All I wanted was a SanJuan pool. Not the drama that seems to follow you.

Before your pool was even open. Most Pool Companies take your card and do not charge it until the day they do it after the pool is opened. When I got the bill in the mail I left a message to have someone call me. On Monday a woman called back and was rude about me asking questions. This company does not even clean your pool when they open it. You have to fill the pool they take the cover off. Throw in chemicals. Turn on the filter and leave. That is sloppy work. I got a guy who cleans it with his big cleaner too. If it is as bad as it was when Bill had it be ware.

We hired this company to install an EcoFinish on our fiberglass pool. Before work began, the pool…read morewas structurally sound and holding water without issue. During the draining process, a significant crack developed and the pool bottom lifted more than six inches, resulting in approximately $10,000 in structural repair costs. We relied on the company's represented expertise and trusted that site conditions would be properly evaluated before the pool was drained. After the damage occurred, the company determined there was a groundwater issue and recommended installation of a well point system, which we approved under a separate contract. The installation took approximately two weeks to complete and resulted in two large cracks in our concrete pool deck that were not addressed after being brought to the company's attention. In addition, the finished concrete work around the well was poorly done, with debris and broken concrete left behind. After losing confidence in the company, we consulted an independent contractor. Based on their assessment, the pool should not have been drained under the existing conditions due to hydrostatic pressure risks caused by heavy winter snowfall, recent rainfall, and the pool's location at the bottom of a hill. We were advised these conditions presented a significant and foreseeable risk of structural damage. When we raised these concerns, the company disputed responsibility and instead attributed the issue to a prior repair. However, the pool was stable and functioning properly before it was drained. We believe a more experienced contractor would have recognized the risks associated with both the prior repair and the groundwater conditions and either delayed the project or taken additional precautions. We ultimately canceled the contract, as permitted under the agreement. At that point, the company had only partially completed the work described in line item 1 of the contract, totaling $3,750 for draining, sanding, drilling holes to prevent floating, and prep work for the EcoFinish application. The sanding and prep work could not be completed because groundwater continued leaking into the pool. Our contract also stated that any additional charges had to be presented in writing and approved by all parties. The only additional work we approved was $2,000 for the well system. Although we believe the draining process contributed to the damage, we did not ask the company to cover the repair costs. Instead, we offered to pay the full agreed-upon amount for line item 1, despite the work not being completed, and requested return of the remaining deposit, which we believed was a fair resolution. However, we were billed $11,250 for pool-related work, plus the additional $2,000 for the well work, and only refunded $7,646 of our $20,896 deposit. We are extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled, the lack of accountability, and the refusal to resolve the financial dispute fairly. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company.
