    Hollow dole whip
    Sarah F.

We have been here so many times, I can't believe I haven't reviewed! This is a more expensive spot for poke, so we go on special occasions or do pickup when we deserve a treat. The bowls are generally excellent and we have always been happy with feeling full. I recommend the salmon bowl and building your own ingredients. Maker to get the dole whip! Sometimes the fish tastes really fresh, other times it is just room temperature. We've also done pickup a couple of times in the past 6 months and the orders were not ready when they were supposed to be -- twice our order was 10-15 minutes late. The parking lot is a horrible disaster, so hanging out was tough. Also, the dole whips are hollow and that drives me nuts. Definitely eat here, we are big fans!

Dole Whip!!! Regular size, it's HUGE!!!

Let me start off by saying we were poke virgins. When I asked a friend what exactly poke is, and she told me, "you know burrito bowls? It's kinda like that with sushi." I have severe allergies to fish, shellfish, and seaweed, so I asked in advance how they handle these allergies. We ordered two regular poke bowls: chicken on white rice unagi style with cashews, and marinated tofu on white rice Hawaii style with kimchi. (The kimchi has no fish/seafood!) We also ordered a dole whip and a dole whip float The man who helped me order was incredible! He was very knowledgeable and incredibly patient with me. When I got the food home and opened it up, it was so enticing!!! There was so much food, it was so warm and fresh and I've never had anything like it! It also was a great learning experience on what to try next. We cannot stop singing the praises of Miko Poke and can't wait to try it again. Bonus, as a place who has a lot of raw fish, it was very refreshing that the inside didn't smell of fish!!

The great thing about Miko Pole is that you can customize your poke bowl just the way you want it. Our favorite place for poke and don't forget a cup of the Dole Whip!

Got our takeout from here for the Yelp night! As the first poke place in town, they introduced us to poke and they are still our favorite. They always have pretty good portioned bowls with lots of veggies. You can get some great heat from serrano and wasabi. You can get some great savory from cashews and crispy garlic (one of my favorite ingredients). Whether you make you own or specialty bowls, they have always been good. I will caveat that with we generally get the tuna. As a tip, maybe get the sauce on the side because you can get more control of it, and possibly more, which is what it seems like this time. All of the sauces have been good, although I could have had a little more heat from the carrot habanero fire sauce. But if you have serranos in your bowl, you probably wont miss the heat in the sauce.

Over the last year, they have made upgrades. Their tiny cups turned into bowls, a vast improvement from my first visit. Lighter handling on the sauces as it tends to oversaturate the bottom. The menu that used to jump around in the way ordered turned streamline with adding toppings. I'm not sure how I truly feel about this, but I see this appealing to first time customers who haven't had poke before or have no idea what to order. The menu still allows me to customize my own with an added cost for some options. It's Qdoba style-esque where you order at the counter and it's readily available. Getting down to taste: the aioli could use a flavor upgrade. I had my order to go this time and probably should've put some poke sauce before leaving. I prefer the taste of salmon over tuna but both are fresh. I'm still a repeat customer so they're definitely doing something right.

    Large Hawaii style

This place came highly recommended but we didn't love it. Had one Hawaii style large bowl and one make your own spicy tuna bowl regular size. See the pics- same amount of food in both, just a different size bowl (and price!). Hawaii style over greens was swimming in sauce in the bottom (I get there wasn't rice to sop it up but if greens are an option then they should know to adjust ratios), and flavors underwhelming. Picking ingredients was fun for the build your own as selection was good, but 'spicy' tuna was not spicy at all and sauces were flavorless. Even with half greens and half rice there was wayyy too much sauce. The tuna in the Hawaii bowl was different than in the build your own? Hawaii bowl tuna was much better and seemed a lot fresher. Overall unsatisfying and there's better poke in town. Typical food fight restaurant- lots of potential but just not all the way there.

I've heard good things about Miko Poke so I stopped by on a whim this afternoon for a late lunch. The regular sized bowl is a good size and filled with fresh good quality ingredients. I tried the original Hawaiian with white rice and had the aoli on the side. The person who started my order handed it off to someone else to finish without passing along my "no scallions" request, so I had to repeat myself. Also, I think they both added poke sauce when they had the bowl so the rice on the bottom ended up far too salty to eat. Still, it was a good meal and a nice addition to the Madison food scene. The one really disappointing thing is that the restaurant uses all disposable plastic: bowls, cups, flatware; even if you're dining in. Given their efforts toward using sustainably harvested fish this doesn't make sense. I docked a star for the unnecessary waste.

Another great experience here! Big portions, fresh, delicious food! I will definitely be back

My favorite poke place in Madison. Great ambiance (hello huge Tom Selleck mural and shark heads everywhere). Staff was quick with the orders. Everything is gluten free and there are a lot of vegetarian options. There are make your own options and also premade recipes which you can modify. Dole whips available! Two sauces on each table. The best composting system of any restaurant (thank you!!) Kid friendly. Lots of parking. We will definitely be back.

My first visit to Miko Poke. What a wonderful place to have lunch. The concept is similar to other Mexican fast food place. Build your own or start with theirs. The food is fresh, service is quick and food is delicious. Price is average but all in all a great place to grab fresh food. I tried the Hawaii Style as recommended and will definitely repeat it.

Very interesting special this evening at Miko Poké.

Biggest bowl of poke you can get in madison. Every poke place around here is the same but in this case, size wins :).

Great selection of ingredients and tasty food, but pricy for what you get (especially if you are hungry).

This was not the poke I was looking for. I first met poke in Kauai. This poke had too much sauce and rice, not enough fresh, crispy veg.

They share a space with FEAST- Artisan Dumpling and Tea House. You can order off Poke Poke's menu while dining in or you can order online off their website and pick it up for take out (this is what we have always done but I do want to try FEAST sometime as it's a cool atmosphere/space). Poke Poke has a variety of meal options and you can either get one of their classic poke bowls or you can build your own. There's a great selection of add-ons and toppings to choose from as well as many proteins ranging from raw sushi grade salmon or tuna, to cooked shrimp, chicken, or tofu, making it a great poke spot for people who don't want raw sushi grade fish. My husband and I have been getting this poke for years and his go to is the Classic Hawaii (with macadamia nuts removed). My go to is doing a Build Your Own Seafood Bowl. I always get the white rice (we did notice they got rid of the white rice & baby spinach option which I loved), sushi grade salmon, and then a lot of the veggies and toppings. I always get the shoyu sauce which has great flavor and sometimes I also add the chili mayo sauce too. You can't go wrong building your own and it's such a nice mix of fresh vibrant foods. Lastly, when you order online you can choose a pick-up time or choose "ASAP" which is 15-20 min. Unfortunately, last night I chose "ASAP" and when my husband got there at the time they said, he had to still wait an additional 15-20 min. This happens that we have to wait longer about 1/2 the time so just allow for that. Again, this is our favorite poke place in Madison, providing great quality foods packed with flavor! Definitely try this out!

While the poke bowl wasn't exactly traditional, but it was delicious and so refreshing! The portion size is not too big either. I would highly recommend dinning in here.
