Pretty much the only game in town for Hawaiian style poke in the Bartlett area. Located behind Barrington Road, in a building shared with a Starbucks (with Drive-thru), so a lot of foot traffic, but the restaurant inside was not busy. It is the classic set-up, where you pick a base (usually rice) and the protein (usually raw fish), and enhance the texture and flavor by directing the counter person to add various toppings and sauces. The counter person was very friendly, giving us plenty of time to make our choice. She was also generous with the toppings, and I'm pretty sure she would have customized it anyway we want. The prep area was very clean, tidy, and organized, with each bin fully stocked with the prescribed ingredients. There is only one size, with one large scoop of fish and rice being the base, and it's plenty. Some toppings are extra: if you get the basic with tuna and no extra-costing add-ons, it is $12. I ended up getting a predefined bowl called the Da Kine (Marinated tuna) for $13, and it was good: nice mix of flavors and made it simple. Some differences from previous poke places we've been: -- they offer a sushi rice option, taking the same hot white rice, and squirting a sushi (vinegar and sugar) mixture on top of it. In my case, it didn't really add much. -- they have a premarinated tuna option, along with the unmarinated. Some places are now letting you choose your sauce spice mix first, and then marinating your protein choice for you right there. It's a bit more work, but I think it does add something worth it. The marinated tuna that I had was fine, but definitely lacked the absolute 'wow' when eating just freshly cubed ahi tuna. It looks like the Poke Bros are THE place for Poke all around Chicagoland, and they have found a good place to source their ahi and salmon (hopefully) daily, as good as can be expected this far from the ocean. read more

I remembered to take pics this time!! I've gone here 2 weeks in a row now, that's how addictive it can be. This place is spotless, it is extremely clean and well kept. The service was very fast, they were also busy preparing online orders however they took care of us right away. I tried the spicy tuna this time and eh, it was okay. I personally like the marinated tuna better but there are so many options that I will probably try everything at some point. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming that it's not hard to go back. I'll probably see them again next week haha read more

Ordered Poke Bros for pickup through UberEats and was early for my pickup time, but the staff started preparing my bowl once I told them that I was early for my pickup time and that I had just placed my order through UberEats. We were excited a new Poke opened up in our neighborhood. Decided to make a visit despite COVID. We ordered a salmon bowl. One spicy, one not. I was surprised at how skimpy they were with ingredients- few of each- salmon, cucumbers, edamame, etc etc. Heavy base of brown rice in one and white rice in another. That was mostly what I could taste. Rice. The rest were bland. And the portion? The bowl was half empty, I kid you not. I kept wondering- did I really pay 11+ dollars for a half bowl? Not sure if you can see from picture but I am not planning to return. I liked the other Poke better- their bowl was maxed to capacity. Worth the plastic waste. read more

Poke Bros was a decent take on Poke bowls in the Streamwood/Schaumburg area. Portion sizes are decent for the price (about $11-$13 per bowl). Honestly I was a little taken aback by the fact that there is three sushi-related restaurants in the area (Minami, Oishi, and now Poke Bros), but I guess poke bowls are slightly different. My husband ordered the Johnny Utah and I ordered the Duke. The Johnny Utah is a rice base with salmon and other ingredients like cucumber, masago, edamame, avocado, og sauce (which is a garlic/soy sauce) and a spicy aioli. My husband said it might've been better with an unagi sauce as it lacked a little flavor/kick. The Duke definitely tasted better than the Johnny Utah. I ordered a base of rice with salmon, tuna, and shrimp. The added ingredients included jalapeños, wakame (seaweed salad), edamame, and cucumbers. It was also lacking in the sauciness in spite of the ponzu, og sauce, and gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) sauces that were added. Perhaps next time I'll ask for extra sauce!! read more

Pretty good! Tried this place recently. Very nice ambience, lots of variety in their menu. I tried the bowl with shrimp and chicken - it came with a bunch of different options, I opted out of the edamame, carrots and onion. The food was pretty fresh, plentiful, and the spicy mayo made it pretty good. They have other options like the tuna and salmon that are not cooked so I opted out of that. Pricing is good. It's next to a Starbucks, I accidentally went through the Starbucks drive through but the store itself does not have a drive through. Parking is plentiful in front. Would recommend! read more

Love at first bite! We ordered this for dinner and we enjoyed every bit of it! It was so good that we ordered it for dinner again a few nights later. Everything from the cucumbers to whatever protein you decide on to the sauce, etc- all were so fresh and you can tell. They put everything together so well and so neat too. They have preselected dishes but you can also opt to put together your own bowl. We've tried both and we just absolutely love it. It's a little pricey but you get good quality and decent portion. The place is quite hidden since it's beside a Starbucks and its busy drive thru so you can't really see it from the streets until you go into the strip mall area. I came here with my mother for lunch because I wanted something fresh and healthy instead of the regular fast food options. I made my own spicy tuna bowl with all the fixings minus anything sweet. It was rather tasty and hit the spot without feeling all full and gross. I've been to other poke places in the city where I felt they gave just a little bit more protein, but nonetheless the experience was positive and something my mom should try more often living in the area. read more

Wasabi sauce is not recommended at all！Too strong and it gave me diarrhea. Since my stomach is sensitive to spicy, I just want you to know that if you don't want to eat too much wasabi, avoid this option. I ordered the Hula and added tempura flakes - Shrimp, green onion, cucumber, crab stick (contains gluten), avocado, masago (contains gluten), OG, Sriracha aioli (spicy), coconut ginger (spicy). Good Friday doesn't have to mean fried fish. This is how fish should be eaten. The tuna melts in your mouth and the seaweed salad explodes with flavor. So good! The duke was the perfect combo of everything good in life. I got lettuce because why not? And mochi! Yum coconut did not diss appoint! The childcare chip and Dutch chocolate were so good. I stopped by on my way home from the mall as you can't really get a poke bowl around here. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality, portion size and cleanliness of the place. I created my own salad bowl with the marinated tuna. It was delicious and tasted fresh! FINALLY!!! A poke place near us!! The fish is fresh and ingredients plentiful, so much selections to choose from. DELISH! The portions are also very generous, so it's well worth the money. Remember, this ain't fast food burgers. It's fresh sashimi grade fish and made to order, so you have to expect to pay for the quality. My custom bowls usually add up to $11-$13, which is not bad at all. Please don't compare to Mariano's poke bowls. These are WAY better and costs only $1-$2 more. It's worth every penny! read more

Ordered this for delivery, and honestly was just expecting something pretty good (based on reviews) to satisfy my poke bowl craving. I ordered "The Duke" signature bowl with an extra squid topping, because I'm just cool like that (not really) and it was soooo good. Like, really good. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and amazing. Now, instead of satisfying my poke bowl craving, I'm craving this place all the time! Though I didn't get to try it on this visit, the food menu fits the tiki bar theme of the lounge and is cooked to order. Service was quick and friendly and it only took a few minutes to make each drink. With each drink I also got a good amount of background on the alcohol used to make the drink and some knowledge on how each flavor combination was developed. The space inside is nice with a mix of everything from tables to a bar to couches. This would be a perfect place to enjoy some board games or a casual evening of conversation with plenty of space to spread out. Parking is plentiful in the shopping center as well.

The Hawaiian plate came with a mac salad, side of white rice, BBQ short ribs, shredded pork and chicken with pineapple. But as we drove by, the sign caught our eye and my husband and synched up in harmony, "Poké Bros -- Hey, we haven't been here in a really long time!" So kudos to their signage being clearly visible from Golf Rd, because as foodies... that absolutely matters. When we walked in, it was already past 7:30 PM and the restaurant was empty. And not to pat ourselves on the back, but there's something in Asian culture about having "good food juju" -- meaning if you love food and love eating, you will draw in crowds after you walk in. My husband and I are both born under the Pig sign (take that however you want ), and I swear that within 10 minutes of us ordering, three different groups walked in and the place filled up to about 70% capacity. This is not the first time this has happened to us over the years, so yes... we're a little proud. Our kids are foodies too, so if you ever see our family in your restaurant, likely more foot traffic is coming your way. So the ambiance here is fun and casual, with a Hawaiian surfer vibe that totally fits the fresh fish concept. It also makes me miss Hawaii! Now onto the food. We really like Poké Bros because it feels healthy and fresh -- quality fish, vegetables, flavorful rice -- basically deconstructed sushi in a bowl. You also get good value for what you're paying. Most bowls start around $13 (there has been a slight price increase of a couple dollars since our last visit years ago, which is expected). For an average person, one of these bowls which is usually packed with ingredients to the rim will totally fill you up. We ordered The Duke ($14.50) which comes with tuna, salmon, and shrimp. Because we were dining with kids, we left out the jalapeños and swapped the gochujang sauce for the sriracha aioli, which isn't spicy at all and is kid-friendly. We had sushi rice which was well flavored with vinegar (if you don't like that, ask for white rice) and also added extra imitation crab for $1.25. At the end, you can customize with additional toppings -- we added seaweed nori, wonton crisps, and rice flakes for extra crunch. Everything came out to be about $18 for a bowl so you can get feel for cost. Service was quick since bowls are made immediately, and we didn't have to wait at all. The staff were friendly, and nothing felt off or uncomfortable. It's also nice that they'll give you a lid with your bowl so if you don't finish, you can easily take it home. Once we sat down, the kids went wild -- and they even ate some edamame, which I count as a win. Everything was delicious and while the toppings were cool, the sushi rice was warm and it was a great combination. Since this was our second stop of the night (yes, dinner hopping with kids is a thing in our house), we didn't order more, but we'll definitely be back. Years ago, my husband and I used to come here for date nights when our kids were too young for fresh sushi. Now they love it, and it's nice to be able to enjoy this together as a family. We actually use this place as a bit of a "pregame" before going to rotary sushi spots -- our kids can absolutely eat us broke (not exaggerating), and this helps take the edge off their appetite. I know that's probably a unique situation, but if you're going with kids who devour sushi like water, this is a great option. For most families, this would easily be the main meal. For us, it's a sushi-deconstructed bowl of happiness before the final round. Tip: Ask for a punch card. Every bowl earns a punch, and after 10 punches you qualify for a VIP card that gives you a forever 10% discount on every order. We're definitely holding onto ours. Not sure why it took us so long to come back, but now that Poké Bros is back on our radar, we'll be returning for sure.
