So, we realize we are here off season. Small town with few places to eat. On our last night of 3, we FINALLY found an EXCELLENT place to eat! We were the first customers of the evening. Our waitress didn't waist any time seating us and getting our cocktails. We ordered two different pasta dishes. One scampi and the other was basil with chicken fried rib eye steak. OMG! Delicious! Our first time to this restaurant and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious! We had the chicken fried ribeye and the roasted chicken special. Both were very good! We started our meal with the ceviche which had a bit of a different twist but quite yummy. We finished off our meal with the homemade shortbread cookies with a caramel filling. The cookies were incredibly light and the entire dessert, a terrific end to a delicious dinner. (One of the servers makes these cookies and caramel sauce from her grandmother and great-grandmother's recipes.) There was also live music through dinner. The singer played the guitar and sang. We didn't know we needed reservations because of covid but the staff made us welcomed and sat us. we were lucky that we went in the early evening before the main dinner crowd. Highly recommend that you try the elk tenderloin it was amazing. My spouse got the ribeye it was just ok after trying a bite of mine he wish he had gotten the elk. The chicken fried ribeye with creamed corn was amazing. The gravy was the best. It can with truffled mashed potatoes which aren't always something I like. My son had the elk tenderloin which I would also recommend. The yuca fries did not have much flavor but the truffle fries and calamari were good. Couldn't remember what my wife had, it was a pasta. She liked it but made the mistake of trying the chicken fried ribeye and couldn't stop eating mine. read more

Great service. The staff are the best part of the experience. The food is very good. Our party of four had yucca fries for an appetizer. OHMYGOSH!!! We dined at the Mikuna Grill on a weeknight during our final week in Angel Fire for the summer, and now we wish we'd gone the first week, because we'd have gone back again and again. Though we arrived close to 6:00pm, we were seated quickly at a great table. Our server was most attentive and helpful, and we were treated like royalty. The menu is varied, with some amazing Peruvian dishes. My bride had the Shrimp Scampi over rice, and it came out like a risotto -- flavorful and satisfying. I ordered the Mariscos -- shrimp, fish, and squid over rice with a piquant sauce that tasted a lot like an Italian puttanesca -- and it was superb. The squid, which is the downfall of so many restaurants, was perfectly cooked, the shrimp was succulent, and the fish was flaky and tender. Our bill was most reasonable, especially since we both had one of the house wines, and we left quite full and happy, and determined to return next year when we come back to Angel Fire. Don't miss it. If you do, you're going to miss one of the best meals in Angel Fire. read more

Wow! What a find. We've been coming to Angel Fire in late October for 3 years and dining options are limited during this time, but wife and I had one of our best meals ever. I had the Tallarines Verdes con Ribeye! Pasta with a cream spinach and basil sauce topped with a chicken fried ribeye. Would have never thought of it but GREAT. Wife had the filet and we split. Filet cooked perfectly and the gravy served with the mashed potatoes had a little heat. Also great. Sangria was fabulous as well. Service (Shea) was friendly and attentive. My family and I wanted to go eat after a long day of skiing. We were promptly seated but that was the only thing quick about this visit. We waited forever to get our appetizer then waited for over an hour for our food. I got the nachos which consisted of burnt cheese on top of chips. Never saw the rest of the ingredients the menu stated it had. Menu also stated best Nachos in town. That was a joke. My husband got the shrimp scampi. Not impressed at all. While we waited, PATIENTLY, we watched several others get up and leave. Don't recommend this place AT ALL read more

We have spent the summer here in Angel Fire and never tried Mikuna's because we didn't think we would like Peruvian. That was a mistake. We loved it. Food was delicious and the service was great. We are going back tonight we likes it so well We would recommend eating here for sure. read more

Read all the good reviews and went in with high hopes. Service was average- not great. The food was decent, although the rice was hard and seemed to be reheated -not fresh. THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH THIS PLACE: all 4 of us were sick the next day. I would not recommend going to this restaurant during off peak times- not worth ruining your vacation. read more

Awful food. They have some menu items like the beef tenderloin that are right off the old menu from the restaurant that was there before- H2 Uptown. When we recognized that, we assumed they have the same chef & that drew us in, as we always enjoyed that place. The restaurant looks the same but the entrees could pass for dog food on a plate. Salads were okay & fresh, but my beef tenderloin was well done, not medium as I ordered. The sauce was flat out gross. Nothing at all like the restaurant who's menu they clearly tried to imitate. Not much to chose from when it comes to dining out in Angel Fire, but I'd rather just have a subway sandwich. Service was fine. read more

We were the only patrons in this restaurant on a Sat evening. Though the restaurant had been open for 1 hour, the door was locked when we arrived. Ok, but come on. The employees were hustling back and forth stocking the bar area with glasses and ice - seemed odd this wasn't done before customers arrived. We were waited on quickly. My glass of wine seemed old, my friend's beer was nice he said. We have looked at this restaurant's menu off and on for over a few months but it seems some items have deleted. Overall the food was ok. My friend liked his but my selection was just so-so. Our bill was $80.00, not sure we will return. I hate that because Angel Fire desperately needs something else besides the country club for decent food. It seems the other places just open a can and fry everything. read more
