My favorite is the "Taoseno" that offers your choice of pepperoni or sausage and comes with a generous amount of New Mexico green chile as well. What a lovely place! We came here after a full day of hiking and couldn't have been happier with the food and the service (and the Mountain Views) we tried the cheesy garlic bread which was perfect since it came early and was very fresh. The star of the show was the pizza though, we got the Milky Way pizza and it was an absolute delight. Staff was pretty rude- when we arrived there weren't any outdoor seats for 2 available and when we asked if we could wait for an outside seat we were told no and we were sat at the hottest table in the place - even though more than half the restaurant was empty- 'just incase it got crowded-' we waited over an hour for 2 small basic pizzas. The vegan pizza is served with a sun-dried tomato sauce since there is cheese in their marinara sauce- it was overly greasy and overall one of the worst vegan pizzas we have ever tried. Me and my sister went here for dinner last year in October. We ordered the Supreme pizza which was incredible! The dough was cooked to perfection not over cooked or too doughy. The sauce has a sweet flavor and the toppings were fresh and delicious. We also had a slide salad which was fresh and the dressing was good. They have a great menu of craft beers to choose from. The service was great! Very friendly and attentive. We sat in the patio which has amazing views of the mountains. The ambience is quant and casual, what you would expect from a pizza place. This review is when we went as a group on October 4th, I'm a director for a car club and I personally love pizanos, so I figured it would be a great place to stop for lunch going through Taos (roughly 30 people). So I gave the restaurant a heads up a week before hand and we agreed if they had available seating we were more than welcome to eat there. We showed up and were then yelled at by I'm presuming was the owner Charlie (I think that's his name) that there was too many of us and we couldn't put the tables together on the patio unless one person was paying for everyone (shocker they were dead when we walked in, so there's literally no reason they couldn't serve us, I guess he doesn't like money?). But they never refused us service, so we dined in for lunch, the food was great and the actual servers were awesome and did a fantastic job the entire time. Fast forward to the end of the meal, Charlie tried forcing a 20% gratuity on all the checks saying we were a group and thus it was mandatory but were forced to sit separate at normal tables thus have individual checks as if you were to dine in normally. When I asked him to remove it he started raising his voice at me telling me that they weren't staffed to serve us (again the staff did amazing, kitchen and front of the house so I don't see any problem there, no faith in his employees?) proceeded to raise his voice that we never should have showed up and given him our business. How do you not have the staff to serve only just your patio, that's all the room we took, on a Saturday lunch at that, if the restaurant got busy and filled up are you going to yell at every customer that walks in? Make that make sense from a management perspective. If this isn't true Taos culture I honestly don't know what is! Business owners hating business is just comical. I've been a long time fan of pizanos and have spent hundreds of dollars there. But I will not be returning and would much rather take our club, who does this 2-3 times a year to a resturant who actually appreciates business. Oh my favorite part is when I ordered food for the table he told me "that's a lot of food, you don't need all that food" I'm not sure if he thought it was just for me, or what but what kind of comment is that. And the cherry on top is that Charlie charged one of our tables the 20% gratuity, did not disclose it to them, did not show it on the receipt, mentioned nothing of it to them until after he ran their card. I was visiting Taos in my camper van and I travel with a well behaved dog. Their yelp and other notes online say they are dog friendly. I called several times to verify and nobody answered so I went in. It was 90 degrees outside so I brought my dog out and as instructed by sign, went to the cashier to be seated outside or decide if I wanted to order to go. I entered slowly making sure to make contact with the employee at the cashier station who is meant to be the first point of contact. I made sure he noted the dog when I first walked in and asked if she was ok. " He said you"'re good" so I Proceeded. As I was talking to the employee about the mentor and seating options, I was one hand shoved, hard from behind by someone who was sitting in the customer area but sure acting like an owner or manager as they angrily told me to get my dog out of there, they are allowed, get out. 100% would recommend for anyone gluten free. The menu was clearly labeled. I had take out but inside had a cute dinning area to eat in. I never see the option for gluten free bread sticks so obviously had to try them. They were delicious, almost like a flatbread garlic bread (ask for extra sauce). The gluten free pizza was surprisingly floppy (in a good way) compared to most GF pizza. Appeared to be made fresh and not a standard frozen GF crust. The phone rings a lot during dinner inside and no they do not have a full staff of operators taking calls like a call center so expect that you may be call 3 on the line so remember your patience if asked to hold. Late lunch yesterday. I'm going to start by saying Taos Pizza Outback (TPO) is some of my all time favorite pizza. So this visit is to mix it up and try something different. Yes, I've been here several times before, as well as done take-out. To begin, I didn't really want pizza. I went to The Burger Stand and their heater was broken, in process of being fixed. I then decided to hit up Abe's in Arroyo Seco. I called to make sure they were open but there was a confusing message on the machine. Well, it's only 5 miles. And no, they were closed. I had my jaw set on a green chili cheeseburger followed by Taos Cow. I considered Sol, but really I wasnt in the mood for that. I decided to go back and hit Pizanos. Not a burger, but I know my wife likes this place, and I'll find something to eat. Looking at the menu, I took a healthy turn, and decided on a spinach salad with salmon. Add order of blue corn calamari because I've never had that before. She ordered a slice of Italian sausage, green chili and black olives. he turns in the order and I hear the chef say they have no salmon. Ok, keep the spinach salad, no protein, and add another slice of the same pizza she ordered. Oh, and she got a really hoppy IPA that she loved "hazy" something or other. I like the spinach salad. I prefer the Greek at TPO, as it's maybe my favorite salad in the world. No, seriously, it is. But this spinach was very good. I can imagine a perfectly grilled slab of salmon on there and it would be an awesome meal. (Edit: there is debate within the community whether this would be a salmon filet or something more like slices of salmon such as you would get on a bagel and cream cheese- IDK ‍) The blue corn calamari is the bomb. Especially with the house made honey pepper sauce. Pro tip- drizzle some of that on your slice of pizza. As for the slice. Not going to lie, I prefer TPO, even though my last slice there wasn't quite up to par it was still very good. This was a bit dry, not enough cheese to hold any of the toppings in place. They do offer lots of garnish at the table- red pepper flakes, grated parmigian, basil and oregano. I really think more cheese is the answer. Maybe next time I ask for some chunks of mozzarella or goat cheese dropped on it. That's probably an option. Service was excellent! Could not have been better. Overall, I liked it better than my previous visits. I'd come back, I just need to fine tune my ordering. I'm going to say it's a solid #2 in my list of pizza joints in Taos. Remember, your mileage may vary, and we all like different things. read more

Our waitress was absolutely horrible. It was the one with long white hair. We asked about whether she could check if a dish had nuts in it or nut. She responded, "I dunno." I asked her if she could check with the kitchen. She said she could, but they use nuts everywhere and "they don't clean up."
