Me and my family stopped here randomly while on a road trip, and when we entered, we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff, lovely music and beautiful decor. We ordered chips with salsa and Queso, the Queso was amazing. Then I ordered the fajitas which were also amazing, it's rare that each plate of the whole family was picked clean. I have been coming out to Angel Fire in October for about 8 years now. Each year I hope to find a new GOOD place to eat. I found it with Mi Cocina. The place is well done inside and has good views. I'm not use to having to pay for chips and salsa but the two kinds of salsa are fantastic. I had the enchilada trio with rice and beans for lunch and it was some of the best I have had. read more

We were so happy that Mi Cocina opened in Angel Fire. In the beginning it was great. But now, we will not go back. The food has no taste! It's bland and quality is far below what they initially served. I do agree with one poster who said the salsa was good. Recently I had chicken enchiladas. The scant chicken was not seasoned, only tossed in a tomato sauce and topped with what tasted like yellow American cheese. We hate that but we won't be returning. read more

Found this place on Yelp and tried it out while staying in Red River. I had the Tacos Carbon and hubby had 3 taco plate. My meal was delicious! The steak and spicy Pico was excellent. I wish I could have liked this place. The decoration inside the restaurant is nice same with the service. The problem is the price of the food and the food itself. I ordered the California burrito and on the menu, it says it has a lot of ingredients, but when I received mine the only thing in the burrito was dry meat and rice. That was it. read more

We have eaten at this restaurant twice, and it was delicious both times. The service was good too. We would certainly eat there more if they allowed BYOB since they do not offer alcohol. The food is Tex Mex, as opposed to New Mexican, and a very good quality Tex Mex (which is hard to find). We did not try the chips since they charged for them. Texans are used to being served hot chips and salsa gratuitously. I guess I should thank them for saving us the calories. The decor, furnishings, and space are good and clean. As other reviews have said, this is good quality Mexican food. We especially enjoyed the flavor of the meats, with one member of our party saying that the chicken in her fajita is the best she's ever had. What holds me back from a 5-star review is the price, which is on the high side; I can't recall another sit-down Mexican restaurant I've visited that charges for chips and salsa (much less to the tune of five bucks!). read more
