Pretty good but not great. Peruvian food in NM is a bit unexpected and reviews seemed pretty good. Prices are decent considering it's in a resort town (have you shopped at Valley Market? $$$). I had a fish dish which name escapes me now but it had fried Cod, fried calamari, and fried shrimp (which they were out of) with Yucca and a Chimichurri dipping sauce. Everything was prepared well. They actually do know how to fry fish as nothing was over cooked. Huge portion. My dinner date had a Peruvian stewed chicken dish (Aji de Gallina) with potatoes and rice. It wasn't what we expected but it was tasty. Very warm and comforting. We both had wine, which the selection was decent. I think they probably have a better beer selection. It seems like they had a pretty good beer menu for those craft beer fans but neither of us are beer drinkers. read more

Arrived around 5:30, before the evening rush. One of 4 or 5 tables in the restaurant when we arrived. Ordered quickly and got our appetizer timely, then waited for 50min for our entrées to come out. Beautiful restaurant in Angel Fire. Food was excellent. I had the chicken fried rib eye (mainly out of curiosity) and husband had lamb shank. We also shared the ceviche as an appetizer which was AMAZING and like no other ceviche I've ever had. The reason for the 4 stars is that service was not very polished. We ordered a $110 bottle of wine which was brought to the table opened and we were not offered a taste before pouring. It would also have been nice if the waiter had explained a few of the specialties. Note that they only serve beer and wine - no hard alcohol. Also, although there is a sign for the restaurant near the location, the restaurant is in the back of the building and is not well marked. Look for the "Dine and Wine" sign. But we would definitely return if we're in the neighborhood again. read more

We ate here the first night of our stay in Angel Fire. I went with the chicken fried ribeye with mashed potatoes and corn. The steak was good, but the mashed potatoes and corn really set this dish off! I highly recommend this meal. The old lady had the shrimp scampi which she absolutely loved. One of the best Chicken Fried Steaks I have ever had...and I live in Texas. Mikuna Grill is tucked away and could be somewhat hard to find, but is one of the greatest restaurants in the Enchanted Circle. I am not sure why someone would decide to put a Peruvian restaurant in the little town of Angel Fire, MN but I am so glad they did. What a wonderful surprise to find this quaint little restaurant below a ski rental shop. We were not expecting to find such a place that served food other than ski resort fare but it was walking distance from our condo and had great reviews. On the recommendation of our waitress, Jasmine I ordered the ribs with sautéed vegetables and it was truly a wonderful meal! My husband had the fish and chips which were equally good. Jasmine, who is coincidentally the owner of this sweet place brought us complementary cookies when she found out it was my husband's birthday. And boy am I glad she did. They were the flakiest most wonderful cookie I have ever eaten. Apparently a Peruvian delicacy. I highly recommend them for a light desert and I cannot wait to return to Mikuna Grill! read more

This was the perfect little find in Angel Fire! When we arrived we waited for just a few minutes and were greeted and welcomed in. We started with a few appetizers- Calamari, Truffle Fries and Wings. They were all tasty- especially the flavor of the wings! For entrees we had the Elk Tenderloin, the Chicken Fried Ribeye, Arroz Con Marisco and the Tallarines Verdes con Ribeye. Everything was amazing however,the Elk Tenderloin was the favorite- such great flavors! We also had the side Caesar salad,which was very tasty as well. Our service was excellent, she gave great recommendations and the service attendants were so attentive! So glad we found it! We all left very full and happy! read more

We have been in Angel Fire for almost a week and have had a really hard time finding good food. It being Christmas Day, I was truly stressed about the idea of eating another chicken tender, piece of pizza, or turkey wrap from the lodge. We wanted this to be great, but after a chaotic seating experience, that finally was resolved with a spot outside with no lighting to the point we had to use our phones for flashlights to see the menu, we all ordered, and had to wait 30-45 minutes to get waters, then maybe half our party of 10 received their food, but no silverware. After another hour or so my appetizer was served, but literally everyone in our party had already finished their entrees before we ever received ours. We finally went inside and they gave us our plate...we asked for it to go since we were being charged $30 for an entree that was hours late and everyone was ready to leave. Seems like this place would be decent if there was more consideration paid to customer service. Oh; and of course they charged a gratuity to our party...little did they know we come from the service industry and would've been happy to tip generously with a bit of consideration and attention. Fan-Tastic. We've been eating here since we found it while in town. Every single thing that we've ordered has been excellent over the last 3 days. The Elk was incredibly tender and super flavorful. The chicken fried ribeye with pasta was an absolute treat. The ribeye steak was delicious and tantilizing. This place has been an absolutely excellent find and I'll definitely be eating here many more times before I head home. I'm so glad that I got to experience this place during my stay! This place is definitely a hidden gem. The dining room looks more like a fine dining restaurant than you might expect of the location beneath the other shops. The outdoor seating area was a great atmosphere. There was live music the night we happened in. I really enjoyed my lomo saltado and the aji de gallina that was shared with me. Eating out in Angel Fire is always a bit of a crap shoot. Either the food is bad or the service. Sometimes if you're really lucky, it's both. So imagine our delight when the food and service was wonderful. The kid had mac and cheese that was not Kraft - yay! We shared a plate of fried seafood, it had a Peruvian name but it escapes me. There was live entertainment as well. She was very good but the sound could have been a bit louder. I'm not complaining though because I'm fairly sure that in some other review I've complained about the music being too loud. A very nice evening out in Angel Fire. read more

Our absolute favorite meal in Angel Fire, we came back multiple nights in a row and would have come back again if we didn't have to go home. Everything was excellent, salads, the soup is incredible and 4 different mains were all wonderful. Good selection of wine and beer. We were there in the off-season so there were only a few staff but the service was excellent. Chill out, slow down and enjoy. Many of the other places in AF, a very small town, have to get qualified with "it's good... for AF", I'd eat at Mikuna grill in any city, it's a great restaurant. read more

This place was a hidden secret. Small place hidden under a ski shop, but glad we found it. Great food for adults and kids too (I didn't see a kids menu, but I asked and they told us several all kid friendly options). The adult food all had a bit of spice to it, but I love spice so it was welcomed. Hubby and I shared a large Greek salad and it was perfect. He then got the elk and I got a "Chineseish" dish, there was a name, but don't get me to lying. Nice wine and beer list as well. We will go back the next time we are in Angel Fire. Great quaint restaurant in Angel Fire. They took reservations for our party of 5 on the patio. Our server, Shay, did a phenomenal job. She was attentive, prompt and friendly. She also wore a mask, which we appreciated because a member of our party has health issues. We ordered truffle fries and yucca fries. Both were delicious. The truffle fries are shareable, the yucca fries are really for 1-2 people. I had the Greek salad with chicken. It was delicious. Our son ordered the fish and chips. He enjoyed the battered cod. My husband ordered the Aja de gallina. It was delicious. Our daughter has a gluten allergy and Shay was attentive to what my daughter ordered. She ordered the house salad and our other daughter ordered arroz con mariscos. Our son ordered the lava cake. Food and service was spectacular. They offer a variety of gluten free options. This is such an awesome restaurant. We've been to Peru and absolutely loved the food but have a very hard time finding Peruvian restaurants in the states. The owners, the service and the food are all impeccable. Love, love this place and can't believe it's in Angel Fire. Take advantage of the opportunity to eat there!
