I work out at the Milagros Personal Training Center and have had all positive experiences there with the trainers. As a disabled Marine Veteran with a bad back, I have spent the better part of my post-military life trying to find an exercise program that works. After meeting with Marcus, I realized I was onto something that could work for me. After just a few sessions I noticed that my back didn't "go out" any more so I decided to stick with it and see just how long this would work. It's been 18 months now and my back occasionally "going out" is a thing of the past. My wife and I both work out together since there is a plan that allows us to share a personal trainer and that has been a huge benefit. We have trained with Marcus, Laura, and most recently Lane and each trainer has their unique "twist" that accomplishes our personal goals, but each in a slightly different manner. Lane is the newest trainer at Milagros and is doing the job just fine of kicking our butts to ensure our core continues to strengthen along with including a whole body workout. My wife and I both work out two to three times a week and the trainers do their best to accommodate our work schedules. There are a multitude of free weights and cable systems, as well as exercise bikes and elliptical machines, and much more. Marcus takes pride in keeping the facility clean and tidy, and we even on occasion bring our puppy "Mike" since Milagros is dog friendly. You can't say you can do that at many other workout centers. The facility is located off Cedros in Solana Beach so getting a post workout bite to eat and a coffee is just a few steps away. Parking has never been a problem and the ocean breeze that whips through the facility is a welcome addition that seems to cool you off when you need it the most. I highly recommend Milagros for anyone looking for a personal trainer that is not just a cookie cutter trainer like some of the other larger corporate workout facilities. read more

I reserve my Yelp reviews for the outlier experiences, either really great or very horrible. In this case, I cannot say enough great things about Milagros! I have been working with my trainer for less than a year and have seen the most amazing results that I have not been able to achieve on my own. I always considered myself fit, ran 10+ marathons but I could never get the muscle tone or get rid of those stubborn areas on my own. My trainer is completely in tune with my goals, level of fitness ability and tailors our sessions to my specific needs. There's not a prescribed program or a set of exercises that get repeated from client to client; this experience is customized to you! The trainers are very personable, they feel like friends. You can be vulnerable and not intimidated if you having a bad day or you may been challenged by the workout. I look forward to my time at Milagros and if by chance I can't make my regular workout times, the trainers are very accommodating to adjust schedules to keep me on track. The facility is amazing. One block away from the beach and has open doors to bring in the ocean breeze. Parking is never a problem, even on Cedros. The inside of the facility is spotless, all the equipment is in great working shape. The equipment gets wiped down between clients and at most, depending on the day I have been the only person there with my trainer. With Covid times, I have never had to worry about my safety. Milagros is very understanding towards social distancing, masks vs no masks - depending on each client's comfort zone and the fellow clients are equally hospitable towards each other. I am so happy I found Milagros. I just turned 50 and my trainer helped me reached my ideal fitness level that I could not have done on my own. I look and feel better than I did in my 20s. Not only am I getting great workouts, but I get great advice on sleep, nutrition and hydration that all ties in to being a better version of me. I actually live in LA and come down to San Diego to see my boyfriend on the weekends. My boyfriend works out at Milagros five days a week with his Trainer, and I can't believe the results he's gotten! I do Barry's up in LA and now when I come down to visit, I work out with his trainer on Saturdays! I love the facility, and it's such a nice change from doing group fitness. This is a great private gym! I love the location right on Cedros, it's exclusive and you get plenty of ocean breezes. I have been a client at Milagros for 15 years. For me, this facility and the trainers are top-notch or I would not still be a client. The facility is airy and open. There are numerous windows that let in natural light, as well as doors at each end which are kept open to allow for fresh airflow. The gym is extremely clean and since Covid extra measures have been taken to make sure all equipment is wiped down. This workout facility feels intimate since there are only 1-3 trainers working with clients at the same time.... a far cry from the National chains with lots of people in the gym at once. Thanks to Milagros, I was able to finally achieve the level of fitness I wanted. I've tried to go to the gym and it's just not my scene. Plus, I have no idea what to do, and if I hired a trainer there it's just too busy of an environment for me. What's nice about Milagros is that it's private. There are other trainers with their clients, but no people working out on their own. I received expert dietary guidance as well as a customized exercise routine that worked. I've been going to Milagros for almost 7 years, 3 times per week. I've worked with personal trainers for almost 20 years, and Milagros is the best training facility I've used. I've had the best results in terms of fitness and weight loss in my life there. The trainers (both Marcus and Laura) are terrific-- very knowledgeable about fitness, health, injury prevention and recovery, and are both very personable and enjoyable to spend time with. The other trainers seem excellent too, but I haven't worked with them directly. Everyone is very friendly. The facility itself is very nice. It's got very clean, well maintained equipment for every conceivable need, is never crowded (personal training only), has free on-street parking, a shower, numerous tvs and a sound system. It's location on S. Cedros is very convenient to most of coastal north county and near lots of cafes, restaurants and shops. Even during Covid I always felt safe there as the trainers were very serious about sanitizing everything after every use. I couldn't recommend them any higher! read more

I have been coming to Milagros for the past several years now and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Here's what I like about them: 1. It's a smallish personal training only gym. For me the size is great and one of the main perks, especially in health conscious SoCal. They have all the equipment that is needed, but not so much of it that it is intimidating. I feel like if I had the discipline I could learn some things from the trainers to use in a home gym and then quit. I don't have the discipline though, so I keep coming. 2. Everyone is friendly, but not overly so. There is a great range of ages (and sizes!) that come in for training - a few teenagers to those in their 70s or older - and we all have a good time. For the most part people are working with their individual trainers and depending on the hour you can have the gym to yourself, but occasionally you get the cross-trainer/cross-client conversations going. I like it because it isn't library quiet or crazy talkative. It's just right. 3. The trainers are what keep me coming back. I have worked with several of their trainers (Laura Plomgren is one of their best and someone who I've been working with for the past couple of years). I like them all, and you should feel free to find someone you connect with if the first person doesn't click with you. Each trainer varies the workouts to keep them interesting, and helps you set your specific goals. I like them because even if I have had an injury or am not feeling particularly well, they will modify my workout as necessary. For example, I went through infertility treatments and a pregnancy and Laura kept adapting our workouts to make sure I was staying safe throughout. Whether you have zero pounds to lose and just want to get stronger, or are like me and have lots of pounds to lose, I think you can find someone who will help you accomplish your goals. 4. They have towels, water, and a bathroom with a shower. And they have ample free parking. And you can use the gym on your own time too if you want to get extra cardio in (which I don't have the discipline to do). read more

Milagros is by far the BEST personal training facility in San Diego. Prior to joining Milagros, I had used trainers at other gyms but was never completely satisfied due to lack of privacy and having to wait to use dirty, sweaty equipment. Milagros is plenty big, so there's never a wait for equipment. Even when every trainer is in session I still remain focused and always feel like I get the workout my trainer Marcus has designed for me. The facility is super clean, private and has every piece of equipment necessary and more for a great workout. For an upscale facility, prices are very reasonable (cheaper than Pure Fitness) and I like the fact that there are no contracts.
