Came to check out the local gym. The parking lot was really full and inside everybody was working out. Since it is the new year, I wanted to see what the Gym had to offer. They currently have a discount for premium members which includes accessibility to sauna ,a personal stretching area, and massage chair chairs The gym had a huge section for stretching and any personal mobility. A person is working on. The lockers and bathrooms are clean. There are no changing rooms. They had a decent selection of weights and machine machines. The cardio section seemed very minimal to me. Had a basic stair, masters, treadmill, mountain climber, elliptical, and a small section of bikes. I like the gym. The only downside for me is that they didn't have any Cybex elliptical. Which is personally one of my favorite cardio machines. So sadly, I have to turn down. Pretty nice gym for the most part. read more

We're visiting from Oklahoma to spend time with family, and decided to check out Chuze Fitness in Encinitas, and we're so glad we did! This location is newer, and it really shows. The gym is clean, modern, and well-organized, with all the equipment in great working condition. One of the things we appreciated most was that it never felt overly packed, even during busier hours. There was plenty of space to move around, and we never had to wait long for machines or weights. Everything is laid out well, making it easy to get a solid workout in. The front desk staff are all friendly, and greet you when you come in and leave. If we lived in the area, we'd absolutely join this location. Chuze Encinitas is THEE gym. I absolutely love their classes, the sauna, and the water massage beds. It is the full experience. They have every machine and weight you could possibly need, all in a super clean and welcoming environment. The occasional celebrity sighting honestly says it all about how great the atmosphere is here. The staff is friendly, the energy is positive, and the amenities go above and beyond. Was driving back to San Diego from LA and decided to stop by this Chuze and check it out. It shares a parking lot with Vons but at 10am on a Monday there were tons of spaces available. The people there generally seem to know one another and so when I walked in, there was a lot of double looks. There's not a huge variety of machines and when I found one I needed / like, it wasn't very heavy (as in they weights didn't go high) and so my workout had to be creative to hit the areas I wanted to hit. As you walk in, there's the welcome desk to your left and day lockers for small items to your right. Right in front of you are machines and as you keep walking in you'll see infrared saunas, cardio machines, free weights, benches and squat racks and then a studio for group classes etc. There were no non binary bathrooms. Bathrooms needed to be cleaned when I went in. Towels left out and about, water all over the place etc. Wasn't the greatest but wasn't the worst Chuze. I got in an okay sweat there. Perfect if you're just passing by but I wouldn't go out my way to revisit. Staff was okay. Not much contact. There were 3 of them and they mostly just chilled at the front desk. read more

Gym regularly shows news and claims they can't change the channel. Out of the 6 TV they have facing all treadmills and stairclimbers, 2 show news (CNN and Fox). After multiple requests from many people, the TVs remain on the two most divisive news outlets on US media. Management does not care that (Fox especially) shows hate speech towards marginalized communities. No one wants this depressing garbage on. Amenities like sauna and massage chairs breakdown monthly with no refunds or credits given when members can't use them and they're included in monthly membership. read more

I was a long time member of 24 Hour in Carlsbad near the airport, but recently quit based on the old machines, unclean facilities, crowds, and a staff that doesn't care. Chuze Encinitas is the exact opposite. It's not too big, not too small, never too crowded. Modern machines that are never broken and always clean. 2.5 stars, rounded down for poor hours. Of all my gym memberships, I actually pay for this one, and mostly because of the infrared saunas they have here. The equipment is "just okay"; they don't have dumbbells in small weight increments such as 7.5 lbs; they go from 5 to 10 (even the classroom doesn't have a decent selection). A lot of the equipment is not optimized for my height (Anytime Fitness is great for short people!). The hours are crappy; it's crowded. There's no pec deck, no mirrors near the turf for form checks, and not a lot of space in general. They cram a lot of equipment into a tiny space. The best things about this gym for me are the squat rack platform and even the little one for deadlifts and hip thrusts (they at least have boxes to lean on for those). Overall, this is close to home so I'll be back. The gym is a place where people want to de-stress, release, and detox from their day. That is impossible when their TVs show the horrific things occurring around the world. Most other gyms have a 'no politics' policy, especially given the state of affairs. Multiple people have requested for the TVs to be changed to neutral channels other than politics and these requests continue to be ignored. Day in and day out, if you're on any treadmill or bike, your faced with one negative, depressing headline after another that counteracts the effects of working out. This is my favorite Chuze location. I read some of the other reviews and they are poor because Chuze didn't allow them to do anything that they wanted. They have rules and, if you can't workout without grunting or can't control your weights, you are doing it wrong. I do agree that the music selection can improve. I was with Chuze for over 2 years. I'm a bit of a clean freak and I love how clean the facility is. The staff were always nice and doing their jobs well. The employee's do an exceptional job of keeping the facility spotless. The employee's are always doing something to stay busy-- cleaning, restocking, putting back equipment, helping guests-- it's very impressive and well run. The staff greets me by name upon arrival and is always so kind and friendly, which is greatly appreciated and makes me feel special! Jordan, one of the personal trainers, has especially been helpful. He is always willing to help correct form or really answer any questions anyone may have. He has a great attitude and incredible amount of knowledge around health and fitness. This gym is great! I Joined about six months ago and am so glad I did. I don't normally like gyms (I'm more of an outdoor enthusiast, surfer, etc.) but it's a great environment. New equipment, huge space really nice saunas and massage hydro lounge chairs are amazing. I love the fact that the memberships are tiered and you can choose from what level of involvement do you want at the gym. However, the best thing about my experience so far has been the staff. Not only are they friendly, but they seem very genuine. They are not trying to upsell you on memberships like many other gyms do. Can't say enough nice things about my experience so far. We changed gyms today cuz Chuze fitness has a terrible management team and they have a toxic gym environment that caters to bullies who hoard the equipment plus they have put back out on the floor broken carabiners and other equipment that has urveull fail very soon for inventory purposes which is unreal tbh and they don't check to see if their equipment is failing and when we find it they act like it's the first time that they have heard about it but in fact it's been going on since they opened...it's unsafe and toxic and it's time to move on to a better place. We found a really nice gym near by that is actually cheaper and they are more professional and they actually maintain their equipment and the massage chair room is off the hook compared to Chuze...it's a win win...we are starting the New Year off right. They have 4 aqua massage chairs and they are all acting up and there are 4 Tootsie rolls theragun rollers and 3 are broken and it's been like this fir months. They just don't seem to care tbh. We are going to look into this after Jan they say which is such a joke. They are but that $ thus why can't you fix them or buy new ones now? I think that Rick who is the main manager needs to be fired along with Bella and Jon and Harris and several of the other girls need to find new jobs cuz they don't care and it shows cuz if they did these things would be taken care of. Joined in April 2023. Didnt even ask if the TVs work- gym is new. SERIOUSLY - the TVs don't work? well they don't. Nope - static and you get a shock every 2 mins. with your ear phones. what am I suppose to do while fast walking for 40 mins? Fox News does work- but no - not watching that. it's clean but small. Young guys at the desk forget to turn the fans on & it gets stuffy. asked to leave door open for air. cheap place and too small -they could expand & charge more? they should fix the TVs first though. read more

There are a lot of gyms that offer equipment and classes but this is the only one I've ever been to that creates a great environment too. It's new and wildly clean. They are constantly cleaning. It's spotless and it somehow manages to smell good. The front desk is friendly and they will remember your name if you come a few times. All the machines work perfectly every time. Nothing is busted. Free Lockers at the front are a bonus. The TVs are fantastic for the treadmills and bikes. I absolutely love this gym. Having access to classes, gym equipment , infrared sauna and hydra massage chairs all in one location is amazing. The staff does an exceptional job keeping the gym spotless. So THANK YOU for all you do, it does not go unnoticed. Also, please try out classes with Jay! I have seen so much improvement in such a short time. I've done orange theory, F45, CrossFit .. you name it, I've tried it and classes with Jay is like having a personal trainer! He makes sure your form is right and corrects it if needed. That alone inspires me to continue coming to his classes. Form is so important in preventing injuries ( I've had a few over the years ) and in making sure you are working the right muscles, and that's why I have seen a huge difference in my body. The classes target only a couple muscle groups at a time so you really get the full benefit of working out those muscles and building them. Just a warning .. you will be sore ... but it's all part of getting better and stronger . read more

This gym is way too BASIC to have so many damn rules. No gyms bags allowed, can't use the sauna w/o your own full size towel (they don't provide them), no cell phones, no talking, no breathing allowed. So many outages rules other gyms don't have. When I told the person from the front desk that none of these rules were explained to me during the signing up process, they proceeded to say that it was explain to me like as if they were there when I signed up. That was rude and I felt extremely gas lit. I cancelled my membership on the spot after a week of signing up. read more
