I am nursing student, so I have little knowledge how proper service should look like. It seems like this doctor Milan Demeter has a very busy practice and doesn't pay attention to his patients. I came to a doctor with a tinnitus in my ear and dizziness. On my first visit in his office there was a lot of forms to fill including: past history, medication, problem. etc. I don't think that dr. Demeter even read my forms, because, at the end, I realized that I was having withdrawn symptoms from one medication that I was taking. I wrote down the name of this medication on the form but he never asked me about it.... It means that 1. He didn't read it. Or 2. He couldn't link symptoms to this medication. More likely it was the first option because these symptoms are very common. His medical assessment lasted 3-5 minutes. It should last at least 15-20min. I feel like that if I didn't tell him the reasons why I am here, he wouldn't even ask. D.r Demeter ordered some testing for me. When the results came in he said "I don't see such a bad results quite often. Possibly you had a small brain leak, or brain tumor, but I hope not." Please be aware that from both complications I could die!!! This a very bad medical practice to give such bad information to a patients without confirmation. I had the darkest thoughts. It was the worst 2 weeks in my life. My MRI results came negative. At the end, he said that he is not sure what is happening, and sent me to a different doctor. If he would read my past medical history, and medication he would new. Dear reader, please find a young doctor who is open minded, listen to his patient, and preforms his medical assessment how they teach them in the medical school. read more

He is a very knowledgeable doctor and he has a great bedside manner. When my daughter needed a throat surgery, I trusted Dr. Demeter to help her. He did an excellent job resolving her problems as well. He took the time to listen and address all my questions and concerns and is very easy to talk to. Dr Demeter performed sinus surgery on me. As doctors often are with unconscious patients, he was too rough. There was bleeding around my eye because of him being rough. As a result of his toughness, I've had double vision, an increase in headaches, sinus pain and tenderness and eye pain and tenderness. The surgery was 18 years ago. It ruined my life. read more

Dr. Milan Demeter is a fine Doctor, make no mistake. But the staff he is stuck with is a nightmare to deal with at both his locations, in Glendale and La Canada. I had a sinus CT performed at a local facility in Burbank and they sent the results in the same day. They said I should get a call in a couple of days from the doctors office when they review it. Two weeks have passed and NOTHING. I have been caught between the sleep med lab they use in Pasadena who claims they don't get the faxes from the doctors office and vice versa. I been disconnected, forgotten and neglected more times by the staff that I can count. I am DONE with these people. Now I am hearing very similar reports of other patients suffering the same fate I did with THAT DOCTOR'S OFFICES. Apparently they are SO BAD they now have a bad reputation. It isn't just ME. I finally resorted to calling my insurance company to complain and ask for my CT results by another means other than going back to that hell hole and sticking my hand in the fire AGAIN to see if it's hot? Thankfully, I succeeded in getting my info from the imaging facility and I can now go carefully source another reliable ENT office. I hope I have better luck next time. read more

Dr. Demeter just did a rhino/septoplasty on our daughter. After much research we chose him because of personal recommendations in our community and he has years of experience. He is very conservative and detailed with his work. He did a fantastic job! It looks very natural and she can breathe so much better! I had a very serious situation that 2 other doctors could not figure out. Dr. Demeter DID figure it out. I felt better hours after I left his office, now I am on the road to recovery. As for the office and phones, yes, they are awful. Those are kinks that can be worked out, but knowledge and experience as a Doctor is much more valuable to me. read more

My wife and I recently moved from Colorado to California. We asked around for good doctors, as we believed it to be the best way to locate one. Dr. Demeter's name came many times with positive recommendations. It so happened that my wife started suffering from vertigo,and her GP recommended a visit to a specialist. We went to Dr. Demeter. The waiting room was spacious and welcoming, and the staff promptly processed our insurances (and later on, our bills). My wife was very happy to have found Dr. Demeter, a warm, sensitive, professional doctor. After a number of visits, tests, follow ups and positive results, we want to share our appreciation. In addition, it's nice feeling to deal with a staff that cares for you, with dedication and smiles. read more

A very unprofessional practice. On my follow up appointment they switched doctors on me without any forewarning. Their billing department also wrote my insurance ID number down incorrectly and sent me bills when it was rejected without calling me or double checking the information. Very bad experience. I didn't have any operation done to me, but i strictly came on yelp to write a review on how rude the front desk girl is, she seems depressed as if she hates where she works. Very rude and gives off attitude for no apparent reason. Her name is nicole, watch out for her, something is obviously wrong with her. They need to fire her with that kind of behavior. I believe Dr. Demeter is a good doctor, but his staff and his practice since becoming part of USC are absolutely awful!! BEWARE of the fact that you might now receive a h-u-g-e, unexpected, and very late bill for something that should have been part of the office visit!!! And you will spend a great deal of time trying to deal with it, with no responses and no acceptable explanations. Unless you have excess money to spend, it's not worth it, and I would highly recommend seeing someone else! read more

As a senior citizen I have been treated by various doctors over my many years, and this gives me the experience to recognize quality medical care from care that leaves a bit to be desired...and Dr. Demeter definitely deserves the 5 star rating I have given him. When my doctor diagnosed I needed surgery for both impaired septum and sinus-related problems, I was referred to Dr. Demeter. From pre-operative consultation to post-operative follow-ups, I found Dr. Demeter to be knowledgeable as well as caring, and, most importantly, I have benefitted greatly from the results of his surgical skills. While my positive experience is, of course, from my own perspective, the fact that Dr. Demeter is a clinical professor at the University of Southern California's prestigious School of Medicine, indicates respectable co-professionals in his field apparently share my opinion that he is an excellent surgeon. read more

This doctor was very bad. I never had a llergies or sinus problems in my life but they suddenly came on .my primary doctor referred me.This doctor immediately ordered surgery, without even explaining to me what it was to be done.After the surgery, he outright refused to take my calls for post op instructions. He threw me a bunch of nasal sprays. I didn't know which one to take, or anything, I had never used nasal sprays. He acted like he was sick of being doctor.The operation didn't do anything, maybe made my sinuses worse.In Fact, I should have checked around before being ordered to have sinus surgery by this guy - read up on it. one side effect of sinus surgery is it makes it WORSE. This is what happened to me. later I saw a doctor who USED to be partners with Dr Demeter and HE told me that Dr Demeter"missed a spot" and did it " the old fashioned way".Dr. Demeter needs to retire, seems he is just soo sick of being a doctor.he had me keep the packing in my nose for 4 days even After the one week followup.. I had no idea, the nose is supposed to be kept moist as it heals. Argggg his front desk girls are like mean high school DROP OUTS- and his " nurse" wont even help you. it is really bad that he told the person taking calls in the evening to specifically not take MY calls. If you don't want me as a patient, refer me to another doctor. Now I moved out of the area and I have the the nicest ENT around and he is really trying to get this sinus issue resolved. read more

I had went to another Ears, Nose, and Throat doctor about 2 weeks ago and it was a horrible experience. I was nervous about this appointment because I thought the same thing was going to happen. I was very wrong! Dr. Demeter was very helpful! He took a throat swab and ordered blood work which the other doctor didn't even give me the option of doing! Dr. Demeter is a wonderful doctor. I starting seeing him when I was five years old. My ears develop a lot of wax that requires a more thorough removal and therefore I have been going to see him for the past thirty years. Dr. Demeter is a very caring and kind doctor. I have always felt as though Dr. Demeter takes my health and well-being into great consideration. I have referred him to other people. One of my friends saw him a few years ago and she had nothing but nice things to say about Dr. Demeter. I trust Dr. Demeter and I am going to be very sad when he retires someday because I don't know who I am going to find that I can trust to take care of me and my medical needs.
