I cut my hair every couple of years, but I don't mean a trim. I mean, I cut at least 5 to 6 inches off and welcome the breeze on my neck again. I've been wanting to find a new place for my haircuts that are closer to me, and so I found Vale Boice! I booked my appointment yesterday afternoon, and was able to schedule for the following evening. The booking process was through text and was pretty easy. Aside from her work, I really liked her pricing: $45 for haircut (wash + style included). I arrived a few minutes early, and noticed it was a shared salon. I took a seat and waited for her to come out and greet me which was only a few minutes later. She was very welcoming and we got straight to what I was wanting: short hair. I have a very full face, so not only did we address a style that wouldn't hug my cheeks, but instead elongate it. The entire visit was delightful, from the cut, to wash, to style! I first came to Yahasmine at Milan in 2019, taking my shoulder length hair to a pixie cut. Before starting the cut, Yahasmine asked about my life, if I was under stress, going through a breakup, and just basically ensuring that my pixie wasn't a rash decision made based on fleeting feelings. I appreciated her taking the time to assess her client (me) before cutting. I absolutely loved the cut and continued to visit, changing pixie styles, for another 9 months until I moved away. I returned to the Phoenix area in June of this year and immediately sought Yahasmine out to color my hair and extensions for my wedding. Don't go here! Place is a joke! Had a cut today with Tina who clearly doesn't pay attention to her clients! She texted me before my appointment and asked me what my hair is like and asked me what I was looking to do and I sent her a picture of the cut I wanted. As you can see below there are two very different pictures!! I'm frustrated beyond belief! Took time out of my Saturday to get my hair done and it was "trimmed" if I could give no stars I would! And $130 for this! Rip off!! Update: the owner outreaches via text but didn't offer any resolution. Tina reaches via text and asked me to come back to fix it. My thought is if you didn't get it right the first time I have no confidence you will get it right the second time. Again, don't waste your money!! Lesson learned! Mila is the place to get everything done at once! I had the pleasure to have Mila doing my hair for a wedding and her daughter did my make up. They were not only amazing people but also the services provided are EXCELLENT! I have a ton of hair and Mila did an amazing styling. She delivered even more of what I asked. Everyone at the wedding was asking where I went. Her daughter did my make up which was flawless. No fine lines, she has techniques that would make your make look smooth. Scheduled an appointment based upon the good reviews and I was not disappointed. Taren was the stylist and she did an excellent job shaping and layering my daughter's hair. Nine inches of hair was also donated to locks of love today and my girl has a brand new beautiful look. We will be back. I went to Ronda Danielle at Milan Studio and Spa, to refresh my eyebrow tats and try to endure eye liner tats. I tried several years ago to get eye liner but it just hurt too bad to get me done. Well such was not the case with Ronda. She used, as she refers to it, her magic numbing gel. It worked super good on my eyelids. There was zero pain. Her tools are microblading (my eyebrows), and tat my eyelids with an electric needle. I was amazed that the low vibrational output and the magic gel really worked. TERRIBLE! I wanted a simple shampoo and curl and all Tina did was shampoo and blow dry my hair. Seriously? I had a photoshoot and her blow drying my hair took SO LONG that I had to leave by then. I've been going to Yahasmin for a year now and every hair cut looks fantastic. I trust her so much that I went from bring a brunette to a bleach blond with her a few days ago and it turned out beautifully! She made me feel like Marilyn Monroe! My hair still feels full and healthy even though it was bleached. She used the balayage technique because she knows that I'm not to fond of upkeeping and my hair looks fantastic! I found this salon through Yelp and I was super excited about getting in with Yazmeen but the receptionists seem unable to help customers. When I called to schedule an appointment I had to call back a couple times before I could even get an appointment. I'm told Yazmeen would call me back...but I don't think she ever did so I had to call again. I am suuuuuper picky about who I let touch my hair and since she had such great reviews, I decided to put forth the effort to get on her schedule. Once I did, I was told I would receive a confirmation and that confirmation NEEEVERR came. I live 5 mins away from the salon, so I began calling 20 mins before when I thought my appointment was just to confirm (since I never got a text or call) and I was told once again that I'd get a text (presumably from Yazmeen) and I never got it...AGAIN!! I called back and the receptionist STILL COULD NOT HELP ME. She just apologized and said Yazmeen is booked out...which is why I waited for a week and a half for an appointment. The receptionists kept saying "I can't check because a stylist is on the computer." Really? I heard that excuse like 3 times when I called for ONE appointment. Is there only one computer that can be utilized? I was told today "It's the day after Christmas so it's busy." Really?
