My grandmother, one of the world's pickiest salon customers, lets multiple people here cut and/or color her hair. That alone sets this place apart. As the saying goes, you can pay more but you can't get better. The cost to quality ratio for a partial head of highlights here is great. They really know color. My sister and I have had full and partial highlights to maintain our blondes and always been satisfied with Mayra. She and Joe have been keeping my grandma a redhead for ages and it looks fabulously natural. The space itself is full of mirrors so it's always nicely lit. The front room for hair and manicures always has a lot going on, so it doesn't have perfectly silent and serene vibes, but it has a nice energy. My husband and I just had our wedding ceremony at TreBella who recommended Le Studio for my bridal party make-up. Even though I made a HUGE GOOF by not telling my girls to be 15-minutes early (resulting in them all being late), everyone here was awesome and kind and STILL managed to get us out in time to go enjoy brunch in the suits before the wedding. They told me to send anyone over if something needs fixing... Sure enough, one of my maid of honor's lashes fell off mid-picture taking! She walked over, they fixed it quickly, and she made it back with plenty of time to take some photos during the cocktail hour. The ONLY 'con' was that they require one card for the balance on the day of (so, no splitting) - but it's an easy fix if you just have your party pay you back (if they have no cash, there's this awesome app called CashTag that's awesome for that situation). FYI: Extra kudos to them since I had paid the full cost of everyone's make-up and had asked them to pay their portion to them in cash (as a tip) instead of to me... Apparently in the shuffle of everything they forgot!!! So, even though they didn't get a tip (yet!) they STILL took care of my MOH! MAJOR KUDOS! read more

This review is based solely on their waxing service and customer experience. I have not had my hair done there. I went to this salon for eyebrow & underarm wax because it was convenient to where I was working and they had good yelp reviews. The salon was packed with people and seemed like a nice, bustling atmosphere. Front desk was nice. I was waxed by Adriana. She was very nice and engaging during the wax; we even talked about potentially having her do my hair in the future since I'm new to AZ. The wax wasn't abnormally painful, but it seemed like my skin was getting a bit raw after she repeatedly waxed the same underarm area with soft wax strips. I should have stopped her but it's hard to tell what's really going on. And she seemed to know what she was doing. She asked me to put aloe Vera on them after, which I said was fine. Then she asked me not to use deodorant for at least 30 minutes. Okay. I'm going to skip forward bc this is already a long review. I went to sleep that night and woke up at 2 am with burning pain under my arms, went to the bathroom to look and found that she had actually burned/ripped my skin off during my wax! It hurt so bad I had to take ibuprofen and apply ice. When I called the next morning they said she was off and the owner was not in, but they would have the owner reach out. A few hours later Adriana called. I text her the pics and After making a few excuses and trying to practically accuse me of doing something to cause this, she said she would talk to the owner and have him refund me the $15 for my underarms. My bill that day was $40. $15 underarms, $15 brows, and I left a $10 tip. I was appalled. I told her I want a full refund, esp bc I was leaving on vacation that day and had to bare my underarms in a bikini. Not happy! She said she would "talk to the owner" and he would call me tomorrow (while I was on vacation mind you) Well. The owner NEVER called. The next morning I got a call from Andriana again stating that the couldn't refund my card but they could mail me a check or I could cancel my card and dispute the transaction. I told her to mail me a check, no way I'm cancelling my card. She didn't even apologize again before she hung up the phone she just said "ok bye" Are you kidding me!? The owner NEVER calls to make sure everything is ok, obviously doesn't care at all, and the person who actually did the damage has no sympathy whatsoever ? Is she just upset that I took my $10 tip back?? Who knows, but I will NEVER EVER EVER go here again and I will tell everyone I can about this horrible experience. In response to the owner's reply: i took the photo of my underarms BEFORE I applied ice; and I have been getting waxed for over 10 years, this isn't new to me and I dont have over sensitive skin. Regarding the multiple calls and voicemails-She called me 3x from a BLOCKED number while I was at work so I couldn't call back, and when I finally spoke with her she did not have any empathy in her voice, just excuses, similar to yours. Bottom line is that someone who is a professional esthetician or wax technician would know that You should NEVER wax over the same spot over and over again using strip wax. Which is what she did. I do not have frost bite, she literally ripped and pulled my skin off with the wax strips. Also, if you actually cared you would have taken care of the issue yourself, she had to call me while I was on vacation, so why couldn't you? Lack of professionalism or just simply no desire to take ownership, I don't know. I honestly NEVER would have written this review if the situation was handled more professionally and empathetically. I know that mistakes happen, but the way that they are handled is what makes it a good or bad experience. No need to make any more excuses, this is constructive criticism that you should take as a gift, and learn from to better assist your customers moving forward. read more

I made my appointment for an underarm wax 4:15 and when I arrived I was told to come back in 15 minutes because I missed my 4pm appointment. I tried to explain that my appt time was in fact 4:15, but the girl was already in the middle of another person's haircut. I went back and she said that I was right after all. She was nice about it, at least. Even though I've been waxed before she was very informative and thorough, explaining everything she was going to do. She was nice and made great small talk. The website quoted a wax at $15+, and maybe I've been spoiled by my other waxer, but I was surprised when it came to $30, especially when she commented over and over again that I didn't really need the wax and should have waited another week. Considering there are so many waxing places, it is very unlikely I will go back. It's very convenient to my home, but not at that cost. 1/5: I went in to get a cut due to all the good reviews here. The girl who cut my hair was not attentive and was talking to someone else the entire time. All she did was wash my hair, brush it down & trimmed it from the bottom w/ a comb. She didn't even section off my hair to cut it! I was so disappointed. The entire process was about 15min. Waste of $45. UPDATE: 5/5- After given the opportunity to try Le Studio again I had a much better experience. I saw Trent & he did an amazing job with my hair. My bf usually gets his hair cut at a salon in L.A. but we just didn't have the time to make the trip right now. So he tried this place. When I called to make an appointment, they were pretty nice and recommended Shannon. When we drove there, it was pretty surprising for two reasons: 1. We didn't know that a cute outside shopping mall like that existed in Mesa 2. The salon looked HUGE from the outside (after we went in, it was obvious that it was an illusion created by tons on mirrors) Anyway, when we went in, Shannon came over right away and started to work on my bf's hair. *Hair cut = Pretty good and FAST. If you're going to Le Studio, definitely, definitely, ask for Shannon. I've been seeing her for a few years now, followed her from her last salon to Le Studio. I even flew back in from California while on break to have her do my hair. I have dark hair that has been bleached to a light blonde, and let me say that it is rare that someone has it come out the way that I like it. However, Shannon manages to do it perfect every time. She's fantastic and such a doll. I even had my mom start seeing her for haircuts as well. She use to work at Steven Paul Salon in Scottsdale. When you go inside it seems really BIG because of the mirrors that are plastered throughout the place. Victoria is amazing! I went for a drastic haircut almost two weeks ago, and I brought a picture from Pinterest to show her my idea. She literally recreated the picture exactly! She was kind, showed me how she was styling it to help me when I had to recreate at home and answered all of my questions. The salon itself is neat, clean and buzzing with activity. Adriana listens and does what you ask her to and is very talented and a genuine sweetheart! I get blonde highlights and want a more natural look. I'm in east Mesa and after many years had finally found someone and was traveling to Phoenix but when I visited downtown and saw the salon, was fortunate to get Adriana and she nailed it as well as the cut. I've been going to this salon for over two years now, and I'm just getting to yelping. My stylist is Shalisse and she is fantastic! About a year and a half ago, I had Shalisse cut about 18 inches off of my hair. I just went in and said, "Cut it. Do whatever you think would be flattering." Since then, I've received more compliments on my hair than I have the other 34 years of my life. She didn't just give me a great cut, she gave me a cut & style that is easy to maintain. Its cut so well that all I have to do is blow it dry and spray a little product in it and it's perfect. It takes less than 10 minutes for me to look like I just walked out of a salon. AND the prices are affordable! I can't say enough about Shalisse. She's incredibly competent, she listens to what you want/don't want, and she's a genuine sweetheart to boot. I moved out of Mesa a year ago but I still make the drive (from faaar N. Scottsdale) every six weeks to LeStudio. read more

Well I made a good review about a year ago, I had a good experience with Trent but then I went once more and did not like him telling me, I had a lot of hair, I mean once it was OK but then by the third time it was a complain. So I believe he chose the wrong profession. Next time I went to another stylist but had me sitting there for four hours she was taking care of a relative , then I tried another one, kind of good then he went really off , very rough to the point I had a headache for a week and then found out my hair was burnt. Sabrea did my make up for wedding and a few occasions, Carla has done my eyebrows, and they were both great. I just spent 5 hrs with Whitney and she transformed me! I got the perfect ombré hair that I have been trying to get, then she tinted my eyebrows, waxed my eyebrows, tinted my eyelashes and then gave me eyelash extensions for a wedding. I have been a regular client of Le Studio Salon for 10 years, and I often refer my friends here. My review is specifically for ADRIANA, my stylist for the past 10 years. She is simply the BEST! She is always courteous, timely, and professional. Her skills are EXCEPTIONAL. My hair and brows are always done to perfection; I can truly say that in 10 years I have always left happy with her work. She never cut my hair too short or left it too long. Always perfect! I also don't like the same cut over and over. She is always wonderful at helping me select a new look/style that will flatter my features. She gives great advice, but also listens and is receptive to what I want. She's the only person who managed to make my difficult brows take a natural, beautiful shape, that's why I stuck with her. Suffice to say that when I moved from Arizona to Sterling, Colorado, and now that I have permanently relocated to the Bay Area I STILL continue to travel to Mesa just to see her once a month! Okay, I get to see friends and family too, but I dread the day I have to find someone new to do my brows. I'm convinced no one can possibly be as amazing as Adriana. Luckily, I can always make it back to Mesa frequently enough for her to cut and style my hair because I refuse to let anyone else touch it.
