We stayed in Victoria at the Magnolia and Milano was a treasure right next door. I am always happy to find housemade almond milk and theirs did not disappoint. I had almond milk lattes a couple of times as well as their egg bites, which were also very tasty. Sweet and kind staff as well. Highly recommend for good, local coffee! read more

Really excellent coffee. Love the assortment of types of coffee as well as options of how it is prepared. Went twice in two days so that says something. A weird thing, both times, the heavy cream was soured. This is very obvious and it's fine, it happens. But both times , the gals taking my order questioned me. Ok, this very disrespectful. Your customers are not idiots, nor do we want to drink soured cream even if the expiry date hasn't happened yet. Today, the barista kindly acknowledged it and all was fine! I am sitting here now, catching up on reviews and loving this place. The staff are warm and welcoming. I love the pour over coffee, fresh when you order. There are multiple fresh food options of pastries and sandwiches. This is obviously a local favorite, as I have watched multiple people walk in and the staff knows their names and drinks, this is lovely to see, to know as a visitor, that they take care of customers and they keep coming back. There is ample seating and Wi-Fi to work. The place is standing room only at the moment, a good sign of a great place to come. This is an adorable boutique in the heart of Victoria. I keep returning to this great little coffee shop. Milano has some amazing coffee! We had the flat white and a London fog! It is flavourful. We really enjoyed our drinks! The personnel is courteous, and the service was prompt. Love the vibes. We never had trouble finding a spot to relax because there were so many small tables inside. They have a lot of baked goods as well. My favourite one so far is their carrot cake! It's moist, creamy and exquisite. Try the Nanaimo bar as well! The plus side is that you can buy their coffee beans to go which is awesome as we've been using their coffee beans for our daily morning coffees. It's phenomenal. Highly recommend. Wow! This coffee shop single-handedly saved our first and only visit to Victoria, B.C. and I wish they opened one in Los Angeles (closer to us). The husband and I stopped in to kill time while waiting for a touristy bus tour that started next door. Not only does this shop offer free WiFi and a clean restroom open to the public, we both ordered an latte and it was insanely delicious. Neither my husband nor myself are big coffee drinkers but we needed a pick-up and something warm because it was cold outside. Yum! (I licked the sides of my cup for every inch of the foam.) I highly recommend stopping here! The staff was extremely friendly and offered recommendations for spots to visit locally. I'm not surprised that they do get busy so be prepared for a bit of a wait during high traffic times, especially because they hand-craft their drinks. read more

This one is near the pacific sea, and is pretty small but their coffee is hum : more than ok. Pretty good coffee, good service at counter but again not as good as discovery coffee. But a good 9/10, so if you go near the shore pick one there you can't go wrong. Un autre café une autre critique ! This was one of my favorite coffee shops in Victoria! My boyfriend and I love going to different coffee shops and we totally needed the caffeine to keep us going on our vacation! We were super tired from walking around and Milano was perfect since it was right around the corner from our hotel. It was mid afternoon when we stopped in so it wasn't super crowded, we definitely got a place to sit down and enjoy our coffee. We walked into this coffee shop as we made our way down Government Street after roaming around Victoria. It was not crowded as we went in around mid afternoon. There is ample seating available both inside and facing the street. . We order a flat white and a latte along with a side order of savory cheese and chive scone. The coffee was great and presented with fantastic coffee art. The savory scone was served warm with side of butter. We were happy with the coffee, but the savory scone was a bit bland to our liking. Very cute stop before our adventure out to see the whales. The coffee shop is a cozy quaint stop to collect your thoughts and re-narrate your itinerary. We were trying to decide on a breakfast spot. It's either Jam, or John's (that's right, more walking). Well to the latte, it's very rich with notes of vanilla, cardamom and pistachio. I also appreciate latte art, it adds that touch of special. The pastries are better than the coffee here, tbh. There is a broad selection to choose from, and many of the options are gluten free, which is great to find in Victoria. The shop itself is conveniently located near the Government Square area (and a good place to stop on the way to an outing at the Royal BC Museum). Our lattes were not particular hot, temperature-wise, and the espresso itself was rather bitter. One member of our party ordered a pour-over, which took FOREVER (everyone else was done with their coffee by the time he received his beverage, and after tasting it he pronounced it "not worth the wait"). The restroom smells very strongly of urine, which we did not discover until we were about to leave the establishment. Not a place I would necessarily return to. read more

I ordered a matcha latte, and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't sweet and I could taste good quality matcha. I've been here for over half an hour waiting for a large pourover. They're busy and understaffed apparently so I get some delay, but they just gave away my coffee to someone who came after me because they accidentally made theirs the wrong size. My wife got a latte which arrived pretty luke warm. This is a saga. There was no "hey it'll be a while is that okay?" They didn't stop taking orders so they could catch up. They lost track of which orders went with which name and just started calling out orders hoping it'd sort itself out. It's now been over fourty minutes. I got a coffee. Jesus christ. The pour over coffee was poured right on the filter the whole time by someone who was being taught how to do pourovers, who kept walking away for long periods to take orders. If this is the standard your staffing level and experience has on a given day just shut it down. Why make me wait 40 minutes for a coffee? read more

This coffee shop is in the middle of the action and a welcome break from walking all over Victoria on a hot afternoon. My cold brew came from a bottle and was good along with a pumpkin scone and my partner's latte and chocolate banana bread. I think there was a miscommunication when I ordered the special cortado with toffee and she asked if I wanted that as an espresso or latte. So wound up with a regular latte...oh well.
