    Dynamo Pizza

Was on a solo work trip in Kingston and this place was highly recommended by a friend. Got seated at the bar and requested a virgin cocktail. The bartender that night created such a refreshing drink for me that was off menu. It was so kind of him! For my meal I ordered the dynamo pizza which did not disappoint! This had pesto, smoked chicken, feta and tomatoes. It was so flavourful and delicious, I was even debating coming here another night! The bartender did mention that they have other menu items he recommended. I would totally come back the next time I'm in Kingston. Food and service was amazing! The restaurant is also nice and they have a patio as well!

Drink menu has lots of options. The pomijto drink is 10/10 tasty! Love it. The pizza is worth the hype and somewhere I take my friends whenever they are in town. Alot of pizza places are good but everything tastes the same usually. This is by far an exceptional dining experience and superior tasting

A great spot to take a date or the family or your family while they are on dates. Wood fired pizza with plenty of tapas and mains for that one person in the group who claims to not like pizza (nobody believes you but we'll pretend for the sake of this review). Not your conventional types so don't go looking for Hawaiian or Canadian, but do enter with an open mind for a variety of toppings and combinations and the choice will be simple! As always, you can make your own if you become overwhelmed with the options. We've had half the menu over a course of three visits. We'll try the other half when we return.

great italian joint. They have a classic pizza oven, and pizzas were great. Drinks were also great. small but cozy, prices were fair. I would say go for the pizzas since that's their main fare. Waitress was lovely as well

This restaurants sits adjacent to the waterfront of downtown Kingston. We decided to visit after hearing all the rave reviews for this particular pizza joint. We were here on Canada Day. Surprisingly we found a table quite easily. They have a large pizza menu so I wanted to pick the most interesting pizza they had. We went for the Del Bosco, which had pomodoro sauce, meatball slices, gorgonzola cheese, red onion, and white truffle oil. In addition, we ordered the Maiale e Gnocchi, which was blackened pork tenderloin on potato dumpling pasta with arugula pecan pesto cream and spiced maple glaze. The pizza was made very thin. It's how I like it. The crust was airy and had a slight crisp. I loved the aroma of the truffle oil on the dish. It made it really delicious. The red onions added a bit of sweetness to the dish. I loved the pizza but you get tired of eating it after a few slices. The pork tenderloin was the star of the night. It was a savoury-type dish. You had the arugula sitting at the bottom, and it was topped with pesto cream. They pair this with the pork tenderloin, which, I must say, was cooked to perfection. I'd say that the sweet and creamy cream sauce with the pasta and pork made for a symphony of flavours. You had a sweet and savoury taste and it was just so delicious. I highly recommend this dish when you come here. The service here was friendly and they have both indoor and patio seating options! We sat outside that day.

First time in Kingston and had a solid meal here! Really enjoyed the salad we shared at the table that had apple, pecans and subbed the goat cheese for feta! The lumpia appetizer was unique, not sure if I would order it again. Good but wound want to try something else! Solid brick oven pizza and another member of our party had their Duck special and thought it was good. Their dessert lasagna was also very good!

Wooden Heads has the up-casual gourmet pizza market cornered here in Kingston. This was our first stop in Kingston for lunch and a friend recommended this place as a definite try. After a couple hours drive, we were ready to re-fuel. We arrived just as they opened at 11AM and helped ourselves to a seat near the window. it was a sunny day and the warm sunshine felt great while it filled the restaurant. The restaurant isn't very big here and it is a popular destination for lunch and dinner. So be prepared to wait and it will be worth it. When you walk in, you will see the big red brick wood-fired pizza stove that cooks all the yummy pizza pies. The menu is divided between white/green and red sauce pizzas. The menu seems quite large yet each pizza combination seems unique and not seemingly a similar repeat of something else. You can start with a traditional margarita pizza or keep reading and it just gets better and better. We eventually settled on ordering the giovane (smoked mozza and pepperoni) and the more unique meraviglioso (lobster curry, brie, and fresh basil). Both turned out to be excellent choices. The giovane was taking the pepperoni pizza and adding another layer of flavour with the smoked mozzarella. It had this light smokey flavour as you chewed and the pepperoni had a great savoury taste. Worked so well and elevated the flavour up a notch. The meravigiloso had a pretty good lobster flavour in the curry sauce. The fresh basil gave it some freshness and colour. The brie was creamy and nicely melted too. The staff are really efficient and friendly. They make sure you have a good time and are treated right here. Overall, such a stellar place for up-casual pizza in Kingston.

That's just the weirds stuff that I like... the FOCACCIA -- they're baking it right there! There's only two sandwiches. This is a GOOD THING... meat or veggie. Apart from amazing -- small detail: romaine, crispy, super fresh... the meats and veggie patty: great recipe. This all before mentioning their namesake dish... pasta... six feet away from the baking, a lady pulling noodles out of a pasta machine, which I'll have to experience next time.

But they also have nearly peerless homemade pastas (of which the smoked paprika linguine is my favourite, though they often only make it by request), spectacular prepared sauces, and regular specials on essentials that will get you things like premium olive oil or balsamic vinegar* at supermarket prices. * Genova is one of the few places I've regularly found a variety of pure, aged balsamic vinegar free from sulphites. AWESOME. So, here's some tips: 1) They ONLY TAKE CASH, no exceptions. I once witnessed a woman curse them out for this fact and declare she'd tell all her friends not to shop there; when she left, everyone in the tiny shop, myself included, burst out laughing, and one of the guys declared "we can barely keep up with the customers we have, we don't need her!". Very jovial, and they took her bitch-fest so perfectly in-stride they could give lessons on how to turn the other cheek. 2) If you need a quick lunch, pick up a focaccia sandwich -- they're about $4 if memory serves, with salami, lettuce, tomato, and mustard, and they're fantastic! If you want to suddenly realize you're hungry, walk down Wellington around 11:00am for the wafting glory of baking focaccia and just try to resist the pull. 3) When ordering pasta instead of ordering by weight, order by serving size. Say things like "I'm having a dinner party for six, four big eaters and two regular", and they'll give you an incredibly accurate amount of what you need, plus a little extra (because people WILL want seconds, believe me!). 4) Their homemade calabrese olives are out of this world good. They use a puree of oil-marinated chilis, oregano, fennel (I think), and oil, and very, very good sun cured olives... and damn, these things are so good I eat them until I hurt. 5) Ask what's on special, or if they have any leftovers. I've scored half servings of pasta, day old (but still delicious) focaccia, and nearly expired but still awesome cheese for cheap. Finally, I'll also mention that the staff here are fabulous -- very nice people who greet with a smile, always bid a good day, and work diligently to help provide you with exactly what you need to hit a homerun with whatever it is you're cooking. Only downside: Toronto Maple Leaf fans. Egads!

I ordered a dirty martini (but upset places don't offer or know about blue cheese olives that go wonderfully with dirty martinis) I had the squid for appetizer - absolutely delicious. However, my last bite I had some of the spine/backbone that hadn't been removed/missed from cleaning it - wasn't a big deal. I just mentioned it to my server Nick and moved on - was just happy it was part of the squid anatomy and not a piece of plastic - that would have been horrible. The beef cheek gnocchi was rich and tender with a hint of truffle in the sauce. The dish was most decadent and I ate it slowly so I could savor the flavor. I ordered a small Caesar salad to cut through the richness of the dish. Was divine. I was excited to try the crème brûlée- the caramel topping was way too thick and made the dish overly sweet. I decided to just eat the custard which was creamy and delicious. Overall I still give 4 stars because I had a really great experience but it could have been just a touch better.

Half of my family went in to grab our table while my dad and I spent some time searching for parking which probably took roughly 15 minutes. When we got in, there was already water on our table which was nice however after that moment it took 20 minutes for our server to come to our table. I have a lot higher expectations for this place as I have been a couple times and it is a higher end restaurant so I was kinda disappointed. Mind you our reso was at 8pm so we were pretty hungry at this point. The server didn't really say much or apologize for not coming by so it was overall a bit strange. Besides that the food was pretty good, I got the seafood linguine which tasted pretty fresh but I probably wouldn't order it again as there are other things on the menu I like better. My dad ordered the braised lamb shank and my mom and grandma shared the penne pomodoro. Overall the lamb was definitely the best dish out of them all. Not sure if I would come back here, if I was ever visiting Kingston again as there are just so many great restaurants to choose from and I was not satisfied with the service which I think is important especially for a high end place.
