I now am a fan of this restaurant. A previous visit was not great. Visited today because despite the last encounter, the food was good. This time we were very impressed with the service and food. Server was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious. The portions for both our meals were huge. I had chicken souvlaki. My friend had chicken parm. It is special for sat and sun day for $18. Both of us had enough to another dinner later. Will definitely go back again. A great place to eat and good value. read more

This restaurant had 4 stars on Yelp so we decided to try it out - big mistake - I am not sure what we ate but the chicken didn't taste like chicken at all, the lasagne was okay, the mozzarella sticks were cold, the Caesar salad was plain. Let me tell you a little something about small town pizza. It is not a gourmet item. It does not have a thin crust. It does not have ingredients like smoked salmon, pine nuts, or pesto. It is not made in a stone oven. It comes with a thick crust, an abundant amount of tangy tomato sauce, has basic ingredients, and is topped with approximately three-and-a-half pounds of any cheese you want so long as it's mozzarella. This isn't Genoa. It's Gananoque. Whenever I think of small town pizza and how you sometimes need to shut off the gourmet valve a bit and just get down and dirty, the Moroni Special is the first thing that comes to mind. There are other things on the menu that come with similar cheese abundance (the lasagne comes to mind), but the pizza is the go-to slice in mind. Tons of cheese, real bacon, a nice tasty pepperoni, and the sausage, unapologetically, is sliced up breakfast sausage. Do not knock it until you try it. You're able to get delivery or pick-up, but with a newly renovated restaurant front, you'll be able to enjoy your pizza with a couple of drafts if you fancy. The patio outside is one of the only main street patios in town, which is fantastic on a sunny day. Not a bad pizza place considering it's owned by a Greek guy. Visited recently (August/22). Had medium pizza. Overpriced and quality was poor and not as good as many frozen pizzas. Soft drinks were overpriced ($3.00 for an 8 oz glass which was 50% ice) Staff disorganized and did not seem to know what areas they were responsible for. Will never return. read more

The food sounds very exciting, but does not deliver 100%. I ordered the Moroni special pizza, which sounded as delicious as any supreme combo pizza with many many toppings. After the 20 minute or so wait the food finally arrived, but it was lacking some taste and appeal. The French Onion Soup, which I ordered as an appetizer arrived after the main dish, about 25 minutes after ordering. The soup was nothing special, and the soup base/stock was easily tastable over the spices and flavorings. Service was all right, but the wait and ordinary food quality make me not want to return. If you walk further down King street toward the water there are several hotels and B&Bs with restaurants that look more appealing, and have better menus. read more

My date and I were in the mood for Italian after a day of site seeing. We decided to stop in Gan. My mistake was to assume a place called Maroni's would have the quality of a mob owned establishment and something similar to Gotham ;) Our appetizer was the only dished prepared well, Calimari . Perhaps that was because all they had to do was out in a fryer. Spaghetti Carbonara was our chosen main course. Rhe sauce was essentially table cream with a ton of garlic added to hide the sub standard sauce with little or know mushrooms and pancetta. I did mot make it through my dish. I was disgusted. The wait staff wss new so did not bother complaining and she was tipped well. There are 5or 6 better restaurants within a lock box this restaurant. Surprisingly there are around two dozen places to eat or dine in small town Ganonoque. Very few places were open on a Sunday night. Menu choices are pretty standard fare for a family run restaurant. We ordered the lasagna and salmon. Lasagna was hot and comforting. Microwaved? Salmon was a little over cooked though. Service was friendly and efficient. Fine dining? No, but who cares? A big disappointment. We ended up at this restaurant as our first choices were all closed. Our first clue should have been the torn seats with big slashes. We ordered lasagna and the special, veal parmigiana. Both were barely edible. There was very little flavour and none of the sauces were homemade. The veal was tough and thin. The lasagna had hardly any meat in it. My advice- head to McDonalds! read more

Here was like a safe heaven after a long road trip and boat tour at the 1000 islands. The menu has a large variety of selections from fish to pizza and from fried zucchini to different pastas. The place has a high ceiling and gives a relaxing feeling. They are so good for the kids. My 1 year old daughter was offered a painting book and crayons upon our seating. The food was very delicious. Decided to stop & walk around this cute little town call Gananoque on our drive from Kingston back to Sackets Harbor (USA) & came across Moroni's. Our original choice was a Czech place down the street but we were told the wait would be at least 45 minutes, so we continued down to Moroni's. And are we glad we did! The pizza (had sliced sausage on it) was great. And the order of fish & chips were better than most of the ones I've had in London. The only beer on draft was Canadian but it was good. Service was good. We sat out in the street front patio & people watched. It was a great little detour (a real quick one as it on our route). Definitely recommend. read more

We wanted pizza on our last night in Gann. It was Monday and the rest of the town was shut down at 6pm. We asked the girl at the front desk of our hotel if there were any pizza places open that she would recommend and she immediately told us about Moroni's. We ordered the Large Special pizza.
