James came out with one other person (didn't get his name) to check that our sprinkler system was working. They turned on the water and made some small adjustments to the heads and noted that several of the pop-up heads were not rising and lowering smoothly. He informed us that we would have to oil the heads. In addition, they noted we have 7 zones and the 6th zone was not working. However, they could not locate the 6th zone and, therefore, we do not know where the 6th zone is and if that would impact our underground sprinkler system. I was disappointed in their service for the following reasons: 1. We have a Rainbird system and Mile-Hi specialized in Rainbird (according to their website) yet, they told us we would have to oil the heads. We are not sprinkler and irrigation specialists and would think that as part of their turn-on service they would ensure all heads were calibrated and properly functioning. 2. The fact that they could not identify Zone 6 makes me wonder if the technicians that were sent out have been properly trained to work on Rainbird or any sprinkler/irrigation system. It seems now that we have to find another Sprinkler/Irrigation company to finish the job. read more

I have been using Mile-Hi for many years. In the past I have had the expensive outside sprinkler thing (I don't know what it's called) replaced and they were right in line with other estimates. I am glad I hired them to do the work. Ever since then I have them winterize my sprinklers every fall. Peace of mind is worth every penny knowing the work is being done expertly and competently. Never once did i feel the tech didn't know what they were doing. Again - peace of mind. Today i had them turn on the sprinklers and replace a few sprinkler heads for better watering efficiency. Since I did some Xeriscaping I also needed a few sprinkler heads capped off. The two technicians who came today were a well-oiled machine. I purchased a home with an underground sprinkler system & called Mile-Hi to inspect the system and get it running. They came out, seemed extremely knowledgeable, and told me that I needed a new valve on my sprinkler system. I agreed to let them do the work, and they charged me $400. I should note that they were very helpful and polite. A day after they left, the newly installed valve seemed to fail, and my system will not shut off unless I turn off my water completely. I called to request an emergency response for them to come turn the sprinkler system off, but they stated that they do not have anyone available. We had an excellent experience with Mile-Hi from the start. Mike came out on time as scheduled to provide an estimate for adding another zone to our existing irrigation system which would water some new planting areas and raised garden beds. Recently bought a house and our backyard needed some work to go from dirt to grass. Had a consultation with Mike after being recommended them from a small mom and pop sprinkler place. Mike came out, looked everything over, and sent a quote over immediately for adding sprinklers and installing sod. Booked with them right away. Dylan and his crew were amazing. They also did their job pretty fast, meaning I didn't have to pay an extra hourly fee. Mile-Hi Sprikler came to the wrong address which unfortunately happened to be our house. I couldn't answer the door so they thought nobody was home, and without my permission, attempted to winterize our system which had already be done by another company. The guy took off the thermal wrapping we covered our back-flow preventer with for the winter and then removed some parts. After doing all this he realized the system was already winterized and haphazardly put it back together again, then peed on our house and left. We talked to the office manager, who was defensive, unaccountable and not apologetic in any way. read more

Came to my rental home for startups and blowouts. Didnt even step foot in the backyard and didn't find the broken heads and leaks. What a joke 5-10 mins for a startup? The most unthorough performance I've seen. Save your money and go with a pro who takes their time. Upon blowout closed the wrong valve and water filled my Backflow again. Used non water proof wire nuts in my Valvebox. Didnt find the valve that stopped working or could not fix in 2 visits. Never on time and super hard to schedule or get ahold of anyone. Always have an issue here. Shows up early knocked and left. Had to re Schedule last year Wish my landlords would just use someone else. read more

I have had these folks out to my house two times I think last year for my water sprinkler system which they did a great job at least the guy Mike, who came out, but they were supposed to come out again today to drain the system and I've spoke with them multiple times since this last Thursday And even yesterday to confirm that they were coming out today this morning and when no one showed up for a couple hours I thought I would give them a call just to see where they were at and I spoke with the lady who told me her name was Amy which I wonder if that's even her name Who was super condescending to me and basically thought it was funny that I waited here for nothing and told me basically it was my fault. I should've checked my email which I never saw, but she really didn't care and then told me they would come out in the morning because that's when it was actually scheduled and I told her no it was scheduled for today, which is Tuesday, but she was just very belittling and I have a doctors appointment in the morning so I have canceled with this company and will no longer use them because in my opinion I just don't believe they care about the customers is kind of sad because I really liked the guy who came out that I dealt with before, but the lady I talked to on the phone in my opinion was completely out of line and all she did was made me super mad! I have since found another company who will be coming out in the morning. I will no longer use my high sprinklers.! read more

Had a mishap where some heads got run over with an aerator and were destroyed. The first appointment they had was a week and a half-away, but I took that as a sign of.a healthy business and booked it (it was going to be a rainy stretch anyway) They adjusted the arrival time of the appointment as it drew closer, but kept to that. They replaced the damaged heads promptly, then tested it all to make sure it wasn't leaking elsewhere. It was around $300 which is what I was told to expect. All seems to work well. So disappointed to see the change in this company. Most of the issues seem to be with the scheduling department. I have two properties one home and a rental house. Have been doing business with Mile High over 15 years. They came to do the spring turn on in early May and called the wrong property. They showed up at the rental property instead of our home. The tenant was sleeping. Then they turned the system on while it was raining so heavily that they could not test the system. There is an issue with low pressure in one zone so they had to return, next available time was a month later. Now they rescheduled that appointment to a later date. All communications are done by email and text message. The new automated system they have puts customers last. Would recommend you do business elsewhere. this company doesn't need your patronage. read more

Our experience was poor to say the least. I called Mile-Hi with the need to get our system up and running completely. From the very start our technician was dismissive, quick to leave and did not check work. It took 3 visits to finally get our system right. We had a ton of issues including not getting accurate quotes on the front end, the tech starting to work without notifying his arrival, sprinklers not even attached or working. The customer service rep I spoke with said I need to ask the techs to do a walk through. No problem, I'll ask your techs to check their work. With poor attitudes the customer service fell incredibly short here. When I asked the tech why things keep getting missed he replied with "I dont know". Two stars as the system works now after 3 visits. See photos below of "installed head" which was not even attached. Bait & Switch! Terrible customer service. The management of the company is rude, and attempted to manipulate the conversation. I was interrupted multiple times during this call. I had work done, and within the warranty period, my PCV pipes separated just outside the manifold that was built by Mile-Hi Sprinklers. I identified the problem, and noted the pipe glue separated a few weeks after the water was turned on for a couple weeks. Mile-Hi completed this work. I called and was told the work was under warranty. Work was done based on this information. I had to wait for three weeks for an appointment. It was clear that warranty work is not a priority. After the work was done, three days later I received a call from the Mile-Hi Sprinkler office. The office wanted $300 for the repair. I explained the work was under warranty. I spoke with the office manager who was rude, berated me, and had all-around terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor, do not use this company. read more

Mile-Hi is the place you call to get great service all around. I booked this appointment about three weeks ago, providing very little detail about the scope of the service. What I needed was many feet of mainline dug up and replaced, (running under two sidewalks, stone beds, gravel beds, the lawn, and a mulch bed) and possibly new valves and the electrical replaced. TL:DR, It all got done. Today. And it works beautifully. If I ever need anything sprinkler-related, I will be calling Mile-Hi and asking for Jax. Jax is fantastic. He came along with Joran and they brought in help partway through (Dean?) - they were all super nice and very hard workers. They arrived early for the appointment. I had gotten text reminders and they called ahead of time. They listened to my version of the situation, asked a bunch of smart questions, and then told me what they were seeing. Jax then talked me through what he would fix and offered suggestions for improvements and optimizations. He provided an assessment on the cost - pricing not only what we could see, but what we couldn't see yet that may be an issue. When he said they could start it today and maybe even get it all fixed, I was shocked and super excited. This started as a DIY where we did as much as we could but then eventually came to terms with the idea that we needed a professional. To see it getting fixed this quickly was amazing. As some of the predictable snags arose Jax was clear with what we needed, and always provided other options. In the end, I trusted the work he was doing and had him do everything. He was clever in how he set it up, even planning for some improvements I mentioned I'd be doing with my landscaping. It was a little bit more than what I thought it would cost, but to have it done, and done very well, makes it worth it. read more

Today I had my sprinklers turned on by sprinkler tech Jeremy Koch. Jeremy and his partner went above and beyond. I have a huge yard and they found and replaced every broken or malfunctioning sprinkler. They also dug out and moved heads that were in bad spots and put them in good spots. Jeremy also explained everything they did and why they did it. I've lived at this house for almost 10 years and Mile-Hi has always done the sprinklers but I have never had anyone as professional, hard working, and caring as Jeremy and his partner. I made an appointment with Mile-Hi Sprinkler via Yelp. Within minutes they were confirming a time for a few days later where other companies were quoting dates for weeks later. They confirmed again, were on time and extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Sprinklers were tested, timed and ready to go. The gentleman I worked with even knew how different sprinkler zones (shrubbery vs. lawn) needed to be timed. Others I've used before said it was all the same but I have had shrubs dry up and now I know why. They just needed a little more water and he knew what to do. In this Covid-19 era he had his mask and safety gear on and was very respectful. Definitely the best Sprinkler turn on service I have had it years. Also the most reliable. Only because I cant leave a review with zero stars. Ive had to wait 3 weeks to have a tech come out to my house and blow out my sprinklers. Today was that day. I just received a call from their call center stating that an employee had called in sick and they now couldn't come out until Saturday. The next 3 nights are going to be lows in the 20s and below. Their excuse of being short-staffed and "we do 200-250 service calls a day and you could call another company and have them do it" and "you're lucky, we normally schedule out 4-5 weeks" are unacceptable answers from a reputable business. Is this what customer service has come to now? Never again. Oh, and just so Tristan the call center employee knows, I did call another company. Their office manager Amy feels it is appropriate to charge $95 for an estimate, be condescending towards customers, and hang up on them.
