I have been a loyal customer of Preferred Sprinkler Services for over 10 years, but after my experience on 6/24/2026, I will never use them again. I was given a quote of $350, which was explicitly based on 2 hours of labor to move 4 sprinkler heads and replace 1 broken head. When the technician arrived, I provided my own replacement sprinkler head, so the company used zero parts. Furthermore, the technician completed the entire job in less than an hour and 10 minutes. When I received the bill for the full $350, I called to ask for a fair adjustment since the job took half the estimated time and I supplied the materials. I spoke directly with the owner on 6/29/2026, and his response was deeply troubling. He flatly refused to adjust the bill, stating that they "shouldn't be penalized for doing it faster" and that it was $350 no matter what. I shouldn't have to pay for an inexperienced and/or in accurate quote. More than the unfair overcharging, I was appalled by the owner's complete indifference and inflexibility. When I reminded him that I have been a loyal customer for over a decade, he told me that there are plenty of other companies out there and that I should just go somewhere else if I didn't like it. He bragged that his 30-year reputation would speak for itself and that my reviews wouldn't matter. A quote is an estimate of parts and labor. Charging for labor hours not worked and parts not provided is bad business, but treating a 10-year customer as completely expendable is unacceptable. read more

No showed to the appointment I set up with zero communication as to why. Completely wasted my Saturday morning waiting on them. When I called them to figure out where they were or why they didn't show up, I got no answer and no call back. I scheduled this a week and a half out, so screwed me over with having to schedule again (with a different contractor of course) and restart the process. Super frustrating and I don't recommend them if you value your time. If there was a 1/2 star option I would select that. read more

I had Preferred come out to replace a leaking valve in my sprinkler system. They were pretty busy with it being spring and I had an appt. 2 weeks out but that was fine with me. They came on time, replaced the valve. There was a problem later in the day so I called the next morning and Rick came back out quickly to get it resolved and it worked perfectly. After reading reviews of dozens of companies and several quotes to do a full sprinkler install I decided to hire Preferred Sprinkler. Sam and his team were very professional and knowledgeable. Also, they didn't mind me walking around asking questions. I've been looking to do this for over 4 years after I bought my house, so I was pretty excited to see the work. One of the biggest advantages of this company for installs is their pipe puller that left my yard with only spots around the heads for grass repair. Definitely much less invasive than trenching all of your lines. Had Preferred Sprinkler Service come over and start-up my system in late June. I had several repairs that needed to be done including two sprinkler head replacements. The individual that came over was professional and very good at what he does. The price was more than reasonable for everything that was done - half of what was quoted from a couple other local sprinkler repair companies. They are my sprinkler service going forward. They are busy especially during the start-up and shut down season - but worth the wait if you didn't get your appointment scheduled early enough. read more

I do not recommend this company. Their website says they do all sprinkler repair and will get you up and running. I made an appointment and waited three weeks. When they showed up to I was told that they do not do repair all they do is turn on and turn off services and they're not equipped to do repairs at all and they could not help me. I called around and received the most competitive quote from them than all others. They showed up early and got the repair done fast, and the price was really reasonable. We just purchased our house and couldn't get the sprinkler system to work. The control panel wasn't communicating with our sprinklers. The lawn was quickly starting to die so we called Preferred Sprinklers and they came out the next day and were able to fix the wiring issues and get our sprinklers working. I've gotten service from Preferred Sprinklers for about five years. Mainly annual blowouts - but a couple of larger projects, moving lines when we added a garage, and adding three new sprinkler zones last year after we added an addition to our house. I did my due diligence and asked for other bids, but was happy the company I've worked with all along came in the least expensive. Some companies wouldn't even bid- because our project was too small. What impressed me most was Sam and his crew were willing and able to integrate our existing old sprinkler system with the new parts they installed. My father and I recently had a employee from this company come over to give us an estimate. My father is fully deaf and had the employee write on paper to make communicating easier. The employee was impatient and found it appropriate to ask my father to have me interpret. I was disappointed that they would inconvenience a customer simply to make communicating easier for themselves. I cannot vouch for their sprinkler service, but thus far I am not impressed by the customer service. read more
