My sprinkler system can be a headache. Usually I tinker with it myself, but this summer after what appeared to be a line leak, I decided to throw in the towel and get a professional. I made some Yelp contacts, got some quotes and availability, and Denver Best Sprinklers was competitively priced (first hour of work included in the visit charge, as opposed to half hour elsewhere). Scheduling with Fatima was also convenient, and while I did have a little wait for an available date, it wasn't long (and comparable to others). When Arturo showed up, he was able to fix the problem, change out another sprinkler head, install an entirely new head elsewhere to account for a shortfall and even made changes to my programming to address some runoff issues. All of that in just over an hour, and the total cost was $115 all in. I was thrilled. Tech (David) came 40 minutes late (no call), told me we needed a new bulb (200.00), installed said bulb and left. 2 zones didn't work at all, so we called them back. They didn't want to return but I made a fuss so they did - same guy - rewired a few things, told me my timer box was the issue and left. I had another guy come the next day - took him 15 minutes to fix it all - the original guy didn't even cap his wiring - he had no idea what he was doing, and they refused to give me my money back. So, in short - they came twice, made everything worse and did nothing to correct - not even an apology. The word 'best' is doing a LOT of heavy lifting here - DO NOT USE THSESE TURDS. read more

Unfortunately I have to update my review of 4/26. Within a few days of the original service call I tested the two new sprinkler heads Arturo installed. Neither one cast water more than 3 feet from the head. I called and asked for a service call. Several days later a tech from Denver Best showed up and said he didn't have what he needed to resolve the problem. While his assistant was opening and closing the valve for the circuit one of the new sprinkler head was on, the manifold for that circuit started to leak. The assistant turned the water to the manifold off. The tech assured me he would reschedule the appointment and call the next day to confirm. He never called. I contacted their scheduler and was ultimately able to get an appointment 2 days away. At the appointed time, no one showed up. I called Arturo and expressed my dissatisfaction. After another call in which I was informed they went to the wrong address, Arturo finally showed up 3 hours late and promptly chastised me for being angry that he was so late. I explained the problem and time line to Arturo, showed him the leak in the manifold he had initially repaired and he denied any responsibility for the now leaking manifold. Arturo quoted a repair estimate for the manifold leak of $500. I don't think he wanted anything to do with the problem. I declined his offer and requested a refund of my earlier payment since the heads didn't work and now the manifold was in worse shape than when he started. He declined to either repair the heads, the manifold or provide a refund. He left in a huff. I would not recommend this company. read more

I'm giving them 1 star. I requested an estimate for a new sprinkler install and they set an appointment to come today 4-13-21. Between 10-12:00. They called me yesterday and said they wouldn't be coming out because of the weather. And she told me I was scheduled for a repair estimate. I clarified that it was a new install back and front yard. This didn't change her mind about my appointment. And then told me they couldn't reschedule me until early/mid May- that's 3 weeks away! I tried to explain that snow wasn't going to start until 6pm but she just kept insisting. Then she said that she was going to simply take me off the schedule because we clearly weren't a good match. Who does that?!?!?!! It is now 11am on the day they were supposed to come out. Below is a photo I took 5 minutes ago. It's sunny/partly cloudy. Zero precipitation. A gentleman came out in March to look at my yard. I asked to add a zone and to move some heads. I received the estimate for the work and approved it. The woman at the office said they wouldn't be able to get it installed until April. I said that was fine, but I stressed I needed a few days notice to make sure I was home (like working from home or off) that day. They said sure. It is mid April. I get a phone call telling me they cannot come out on Monday because of the storm and need to reschedule. I am like what? I was never told. I call back because I was not given notice. I can't get thru to them either on my cell or home phone. When they call me, and I answer, nothing. I called them, it doesn't go thru. I finally get to voicemail and I asked why no one called me and that I had stressed I need to be given a few days notice to make sure I am at home. I said that if there was no snowstorm, I wouldn't have been able to do it that day since I was given no notice. I send a follow up email but issues trying to reach someone and I knew they were trying to schedule. I wanted to get this setup before June (that was why I asked them for an estimate in March.....) Get an email back asking me what will work for me. I replied back on April 20 just stating once again, I need notice. I asked (via email) if they had availability before May 13. No email response. I start to give up. A couple weeks go by and they call me. She asked me if we were moving forward. I said I was confused because I was waiting on them after the last email. She said she was waiting on me (confusing, I have an email sent to them with no response). I said, well I was going out of town on May 13. I said I would be back on the 18th. She said they had availability on May 24. Added to my calendar. Made sure I was home and available. No show. No call. Nothing. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Here it is June and still no call. Right. Now it is June. I thought maybe they showed up while I was out of town. I asked the person who was watching the house and looked thru all the camera footage. Nothing. Anyway, long story. I felt a huge lack of respect from this company. I don't understand why they didn't even give me a call saying they couldn't make it. I am very happy with the work done by Denver Best Sprinklers. I got several quotes last summer from other companies for a full sprinkler system install, but due to the high estimates and contractor unavailability until basically winter I didn't go forward with the job. I called Denver Best Sprinklers this summer expecting more of the same, and was pleasantly surprised. They were the easiest to get a hold of, responding quickly to calls and emails. Fatima helped schedule for Arturo to come out and give a quote, and they were great about working around my schedule. I was pleasantly surprised with the quote, and based on other positive reviews I decided to give them a try. They had a last minute availability due to a cancellation, and were able to squeeze my job in a couple days later (after 811 performed the locates). The crews worked hard in mid-July 100 degree weather to get the system installed and also placed new sod. I am happy with the work they did, the sprinklers work well and the included Rachio controller with wifi app is great. I had an issue with one sprinkler head crop up a week after the install (it was working fine when they left - I think the issue was on my end) and Arturo graciously came out and fixed the issue the day that I called, and did not charge me. They really stand behind their work and are way better than most sprinkler companies about scheduling and communication. I promise to be truthful and objective: DBS was called for a quote. The female adminstrator was friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic. It made me want to do business with her. As scheduled, a man named Arturo Garcia showed up. He barely spoke English but seemed nice. He was alone. With his bad English and my bad Spanish we spoke in grunts with lots of pointing and motioning a sa means to convey ideas. Arturo shook his head and seemed to understand but could never communicate back what is I was asking for, so it made me a little hesitant to hire him because, well, this is exactly how bad experience get created....you think you're on the same page but not.....anyway.... Arturo and I agreed on a price and scope of work. He showed up on time with a young helper and worked hard. HE made quick work of it but failed to address one of the things we discussed. Having just been robbed of $25,000 by Prestige Contracting of Northglenn, CO owned by Kenneth Medina of Broomfield, CO, I was tired of being repeatedly fucked by contractors so I just let it go. Arturo came back next day to get payment. As I started to write the check I knew what we agreed upon but instead of going ahead and writing the check, I had a hunch to follow....I asked Arturo how much I owe him. He asked for $100 less than we had agreed upon, so that's what he got. After 1 year Arturo's work is still good. Bonus Entry: The night I paid Arturo, there was a news story in which police were looking for murderer on the loose in Denver. The news said the man's name was Arturo Garcia!!! Was it the helper, was it his son, was it just a coincidence because that's a pretty common name? Also after one year, I was hugely surprised when the female called (Fatima?) to try to schedule an annual blowout with us! I was impressed that she was upselling existing Customers. It showed she has her shit together. I hope DBS does well. If you don't mind the uncertainty of dealing with bad English, feels like rolling the dice....then give them a call. I called to have someone come check my work on the sprinkler system. Fatima answered and I was telling her what I had already done, she literally says "nah, girl you can do this, I am going to send you a YouTube video, watch it and I bet you can figure it out." So she sends me the text, I watch it, run to Home Depot for the parts I need, she calls ME back to confirm I had received the text, I get home, watch the video one more time and BAM the sprinklers are working. And it's a good thing too, I am having a fence installed and the neighbors to the south just laid sod and sure enough they had covered 2 of my sprinkler heads as I suspected. So here's the actual review...sometimes we forget that there ARE nice people in the world. People who can change the course of your day with a simple phone call or text, or in my case BOTH, but rarely are these people in the service industry.
