This is a very down home diner style breakfast spot. You are not to come here if you are expecting fancy dishes & lavish tastes. The staff were all fantastic and friendly and our server was just the sweetest lady. She and I are in agreement that the hollandaise sauce is one of the best (and I freakin' LOVE hollandaise sauce, so this is coming with full judgement.) The space is quite small so I imagine it could feel a bit cramped when filled at max capacity. I suggest getting there before 10am to have more of the space to yourself. 10/10 would recommend. This place is a GEM. Traditional, old school diner with the best food around. No reservations in advance and gets busy during peak hours. But, worth the wait. Their "coffee rolls" (aka cinnamon rolls) are an absolute MUST. The waitresses are super sweet. The food is beyond delicious. On the weekends especially over the summer, we try to get there by 8am to avoid a long wait. Nice, friendly and lively atmosphere. read more

Breakfast just like mom cooked. Nice meal with great service. There were too many choices for me to choose as everything I saw coming from the kitchen looked great. I went with a two egg plate with Portuguese sausage and a Portuguese sweet bread toast. It was very good. I wish that I could have tried more, but I had to save room for my lunch plans with friends. This place is a real local spot and you can feel that local love when you're here! If coming on a weekend, prepare for a wait. We showed up at 10am and could not be seated until 10:50am. Once seated, the service was excellent - very kind, warm, and appreciative that we had waited. The food unfortunately took a while come out though, so our wait continued! While waiting, we enjoyed the ambiance inside. There is lots of local and family paraphernalia on the walls to observe and even an open (TINY) kitchen where a man and woman were hustling out orders left and right. The servers kept our coffee mugs refreshed as we waited so we never felt ignored. The food: - two pancakes to split: very thick and claggy. would not get again! - fish cake eggs benedict: i had asked for the hollandaise to be on the side, but it was mistakenly placed on top. the server preemptively came to let me know of the mistake and ask if i'd prefer a new plate. i considered it, but given how busy they were i figured i could just scrape some sauce off. they expressed appreciation and brought it out. the fish cakes had a stronger flavor - somewhat fishy but also with some seasonings and additions. i wished it were more simple and delicate. the eggs were cooked through but i wish the yolk had been left a little runny! it was soft but not spilling out. the potatoes were amazing - soft and with very yummy seasoning. In general this place has lovely service and a great vibe. I can see why it would be busy even at 5am with locals heading out to start their day. Found the continental breakfast at my motel was a little lacking so I went looking for something more. Drove around a bit and found Mom's and it looked interesting. A bit off the main drag of the waterfront. Checked it on yelp and saw it rated high, so in I went. Seated and greeted immediately, but by the time I left a decent line had formed outside around 9:45AM. Anywho....I had the 3 egg breakfast with linguica, which was very reasonably priced at $8, including home fries and toast. The server was very friendly and helpful and my order came out without too much delay. The toast was nicely buttered, but the home fries were a bit on the crispy side, like they had been on the flattop a while.. Hopefully they were working on a another batch for the mid morning crowd lined up. People next to me had some eggs benedict going and it looked pretty good. Service was great and the prices good. I hear the food is good, but be prepared for shifting open hours! We drove all the way up from Lynn and got here at 11:00. Their hours say they close at 12:00. Came to Mom's for breakfast before sea glass hunting. It's a tiny place, but such a great atmosphere! The wait staff makes you feel right at home, and the chatter from locals and tourists alike was warm and inviting. The FOOD.... I had the breakfast burrito w/sausage and it was the perfect mix of vegetables and meat. My girlfriend had the frittata which she has now been trying to replicate at home. We split a side of corned beef hash and it was HEAVENLY. One of the best I've ever had. I can't say enough about the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. I was starving after my neices graduation and i decided to check this place out with a few people who were with me. Now when we arrived the place was full so we wound up waiting a good while to be seated. Honestly i didnt mind it because i had good company with me and it made waiting a lot easier. The whole time we were waiting the staff would routinely come to check on us which they didnt have too but it was appreciated. When we were eventually seated everything from this point on was great. Our waiter whose name i wish i could remember was one of the best ive ever had. She was short older woman with a charming personality. She made us laugh, accomodated us accordingly, and really made the experience here extremely pleasent. Now the place itself isnt a big or extravagent restaurant with fancy gimmicks. It was like an old school mom and pop family business. Again, i have to repeat and say what made this one of the best dine in experiences ever was the staff they really made you feel at home. Now on to the best part of the visit, the food. I had steak tips, eggs, homefries, with a side of OJ. Now let me tell you about these steak tips, it made me wanna slap my momma, thats how good they were. I found myself trying to make the meal last as long as i posibbly could. Never in my life had a tasted steak that was so good. It was like the good Lord himself came down from his throne put on an apron and made miracles. Whoever the chef was that made my meal must of came from heaven, theres no way steak, eggs, and homefries could taste THAT good from human hands. Even my OJ was the best ive had you could just taste the richness in it. Im positive it was freshly squeezed, i forgot how good REAL OJ tastes. Small breakfast place near Beauport Hotel that serves wide range of typical breakfast fare. Had the homemade muffins that were delicious, comes slathered with butter. Place was packed with locals but the waitstaff were cheery and efficient. Outdoor seating available. I enjoyed their egg frittata with cheese which came with toast and home fries. read more

We stopped in this tiny but welcoming breakfast spot on a cold dreary morning and the atmosphere inside made up for the coldness outside. The women who worked here greeted us immediately and made us feel right at home! The first thing we saw was the open kitchen and the most delicious looking cinnamon buns drew out attention. They smelt like heaven!!! There are only a few tables inside and they were all taken but upon our arrival one very kind patron moved his table so we could sit. We ordered a home made Cinnabon and had Coffee and eggs. The Cinnabon was delicious!! Warm and melted in my mouth. I couldn't help but eat it, immediately forgetting about my gluten allergy... I devoured the entire sticky bun in minutes!!!! Everything was SO good!!! Our food, the coffee, the Cinnabon!!! The atmosphere, the waitstaff, the chef and the other customers!!! We stayed at the beauport hotel across the street and wanted a more laidback breakfast option. Mom's did not disappoint. We got two breakfast sandwiches, which were sloppy and delicious, but it was the coffee bun that really hit the nail on the head. Cute little spot for a home cooked breakfast. I was staying at the Beauport Hotel with my fiancé but we wanted something "local" rather than a hotel breakfast. A quick walk over and we grabbed seat inside. It's small but sometimes those small places have the best food. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and a side of home fries and everything was delicious. I even enjoyed some of my fiancé's hash, which I'm typically not a fan of. If you want to enjoy something sweet to share, order the coffee roll. Sooo good. We were left our hotel in search of breakfast and saw this little place, moms. We decided to try it out and we are so glad we did. We went in and there are several small tables and one table right in the front window with a bar top if you so choose. The service was great. They took our order and before we knew it we had a hot breakfast delivered. The eggs were perfect. Great potatoes and sausage. Wheat toast. What more could you ask for. Everything was great.
