I don't know where these positive reviews can possibly be coming from. Perhaps the business has recently changed hands... I went here because some of the reviews mentioned quality work done on vintage cars, so I felt confident bringing my recently acquired 1986 VW there. Sadly the shop completely ruined the drop dead mint stock VW cassette deck that was in the car when they replaced a speaker. This is something that cannot be replaced at any price. When I dropped the car off I asked if they had the proper tools to remove the radio. I was told yes, they did. When I got the call that the car was ready I was told "there is a little crack that we fixed, nothing to worry about". When I looked at the car I immediately saw where improper tools were used to remove the radio. Honestly, it looked like someone had tried to rip the radio out with a crowbar. The once pristine deck now had 4 large cracks in it and a chunk of it was held on using tape! Also, in a poor attempt to fix this damage, glue was misused, resulting in the cassette deck door being glued onto the top of the unit, rendering it inoperable. The deck also no longer sat in flush with the dash. The tech came out and told me not to worry, he will fix everything. He pulled out the wrong tool and proceeded to jam it in and continue butchering the stereo RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! When I told him he was not using the correct tool he assured me he was and proceeded to struggle, to no avail, to remove the unit. I told him he had done enough damage and to stop what he was doing. He then gave me a partial refund and I left. When I got home things went from bad to worse. I properly and easily removed the radio as I had the correct tools and chunks of the faceplate came falling off. I was furious. The deck is damaged beyond repair. I called and demanded a full refund, which I was told I'd receive. I drove back to the shop where they then tried to short me on the refund. I wanted to like the shop. There aren't many such shops these days. The tech was friendly, but sadly incompetent and dishonest. If you have a beater car and want a $19.99 stereo put in it maybe these guys could do it without too much damage. But if you have something nice, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. And if you find a reputable shop, please let me know. Sadly I need to get my stereo replaced. read more

I would highly recommend Milford Auto Sound & Security to anyone in Southern CT looking for car stereo/security/remote start installs. Ed's work is clean, precise, and above all fairly priced. He is very approachable in his shop, communicates excellently over the phone and finishes his work in a very timely manner. After install, he demonstrated all of the features of my new remote start and security system which was way better than getting handed the keys and shown the door. He also tuned the EQ on my stereo system and amplifier to the CD of my choice (Ice Cube- Lethal Injection), which was an awesome personal touch. Ed is also great at fielding any questions you could ask about car technology-- whether it be speakers, security, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. if you aren't sure what steps to take or products to buy. Sam was amazing!! Not easy to come up with a reason to use my husband's truck and wanted to surprise him for Christmas with an installed remote starter. Sam said "whenever you can get it, just bring it in and I'll get it installed that day". He kept his word and it was a great surprise for my husband. Ed was maybe the most helpful person I've ever dealt with in terms of my car. He was accommodating, honest, and fair when helping me with an alarm that was installed through a dealer after market. He serviced my car quickly and told me what I should expect when returning to the dealer for further service. The installation was professional and thorough, and the owner took time to show me the radio even though he was still busy with another job and it was late. He installed the microphone through an unused button on the dash at my request, and it looks like a factory install. I was shopping around for the best deal on a remote start for my 2009 Hyundai Tucson. I emailed milford audio and sound a received a reply with pricing within a very reasonable timeframe. They had the best price of all the places I inquired at and decided to research them to see what kind of reviews they had. Almost every review i found was 4 stars or more. I contacted them again to schedule my appointment to have it installed, again a received a reply within a very reasonable time frame (and also after business hours) when I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted and told the install would take about 2 hours. An hour and a half later my car was ready. The first week or two i was having trouble getting the car to stay running when I started it with the remote. I contacted them and received a reply, once again in a reasonable time frame, and i was told that he probably had to set the idle a little higher and to bring it by whenever i had a free minute it would only take a couple of minutes to fix. Brought my car back a few days later, it literally took him 30 seconds to reprogram the remote start and its been working like a charm ever since. I would highly recommend this company and i will definitely go back for any of my remote start or audio needs read more
