Very cute place. The vibe is there and everything looks clean and modern. We had a large party for breakfast. They have lots of tables that can be reconfigured and accommodate different size parties. I had coffee and pancakes. They were both very good. Others at our table had biscuits and gravy, breakfast quesadillas, traditional breakfast and pancakes. Not one complaint. We were visiting for the weekend & decided to have brunch here because of the reviews. Unfortunately, it was just ok. I got the yogurt bowl & I love that they have this healthier option. It was okay - the granola was really good but the yogurt was very sour, and the berries were a little sour too because they weren't ripe. I also ordered a side of toast and sausage links. The toast was good (I mean how can you really mess up toast?) but I do wish they offer to add butter to it so the butter has time to melt when it's warm. I don't expect that but it is a nice touch when restaurants do it! The sausage was actually really good though and was probably my favorite part of breakfast. I really wasn't sure if I should give this place 3 or 4 stars but unfortunately the service was pretty bad so I settled on 3 stars. Our server didn't refill our drinks which is unfortunate, especially because drinks have gotten pretty expensive lately. Our check was also brought out before we were finished eating. I still had half of my meal left over so I thought it was weird. I had also wanted to get coffee to go but that didn't happen since our check was brought out. Came here for brunch and was a little underwhelmed by the experience. We were sat almost immediately which was nice during Sunday brunch, but our service from there now wasn't great. Our server didn't come check on us very often so our drinks were frequently empty. She also brought out the check super early. We were only halfway done with our meal. She also only came back to take the credit card. It was clear she wanted to leave as soon as possible. The food was good, not great. The cheese grits had a good consistency and were very cheesy. I added a little extra butter and seasoning to get the flavor right. The Knife and Form Biscuit was very dry. I wish it came with a sauce or the eggs were over easy. Very easy to find, it has a large sign out front to catch your eye. Parking is in front of and along the sides of the building as well as across a traffic lane in the front. There are several handicapped spaces by the door. Walking in, the hostess station is right in front. There is a large bar to the right with additional seating. The main seating is on the left. We had a large party without reservations and were seated immediately. The restaurant was surprisingly loud, so much so we had trouble hearing other members of our party only one seat away. It looks like they have acoustic foam and panels in the ceiling but they are apparently not effective at all. Our server was rather soft-spoken so it was a bit difficult hearing him, but he also made sure our order was taken correctly. He did a very good job for us. Our drinks came out quickly and he then took our main meal order. The coffee is rather strong which was a major plus. Our food came out in maybe 15 minutes, much quicker than anticipated. Our entire party was served within about five minutes, so that was a big plus for our group. The Southern Benedict looked very good, but the first cut into the biscuit was a major disappointment. The biscuit was old and hard, certainly not baked that morning. It actually cracked into small pieces. There is no way that should have been put on a plate, even if it was covered in gravy. The gravy and eggs were quite good, as were the roasted potatoes. Unfortunately, the biscuit ruined every bite of the otherwise good meal. The Mediterranean Benedict was excellent. The side of grits was also good with a decent buttery taste even without adding anything else. The pancakes were huge, as big as the plate they were served on. The side of bacon was cooked as requested and had a good flavor. Without the dry and hard biscuit, the food from Milk and Honey would easily rate five stars. The rating is tempered significantly based on serving the at least one day old biscuit and the loud general background noise. read more

Wife had oatmeal and it was bland. We have a number of food allergies (diary, tree nuts and gluten) and the selection for us was very narrow. I ordered the Low Country omelette with bacon, pimento cheese, (light) green pepper, & a few more veggies...with rye toast & fried potatoes as the side. It came rather quickly and we were both impressed that our plates were completely full! My husband ate most of his and I brought more than half of mine home! Both orders were delicious! A little pricey, yes, but 3 meals for the price of 2...? Further, where can we dine these days without adding that it's "pricey"? Our server (forgot to get her name) was friendly and very efficient. Another employee, server/manager/owner(?) came by to check on us before leaving was also very friendly and informative, inviting us back for additional events. Milk & Honey is bright and spacious with charming decorative touches; although it could be a little cleaner (especially the floors) and quieter--not reasonable, I know. We'll be going back! This is my first Yelp review, and it is brutally honest. We have been coming to Sunset Beach / Calabash for 35 years, and this morning we decided to try Milk & Honey for the first time. It was breakfast, we both tried the Milk & Honey Country style, eggs over medium, roasted potatoes and a biscuit from extensive menu. We were seated next to the bus cart and restrooms in a near empty place. The Country Fried steak, my opinion was it was from the frozen food section of a bulk food grocery store, was served room temperature. Was not fried, microwaved or under a heat lamp, very sad. The "roasted" potatoes were roasted at some point, probably earlier in the week, again not even room temperature. The biscuit was room temp, and crusty, as if sitting out since the place opened that morning. The eggs were warm, not hot and a bit overdone. In my lifetime, i can count on one hand where i left a meal unfinished, this would be one of them. The waitress was friendly and attentive, coffee was hot and good. We tipped her well as she was attentive and I assumed, not the cook :-) Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I asked the hostess who seated us, an older woman, if they offer gluten-free options, and she said "Yeah, eggs." aside from the rudeness, the coffee was terrible, but my husband said the French toast he ordered was good. And just FYI, I eat Gluten-free because I have to, it is not a choice. A note to servers everywhere, toast and biscuits have gluten in them! Stop offering them to those who tell you they need gluten-free because they have celiac disease. Service was great( we sat at the bar-great server ) and the food was unbelievable! My husband got the steak and eggs and it was fantastic! I got the traditional breakfast, eggs, bacon, biscuit, and grits. I opted to add sausage gravy, which was the best decision ever. If you are a sausage gravy person, this is the best I've ever eaten!
