We had a great experience at Toasted in Calabash, NC. The food was excellent, and the service was just as good. We were served by the owner, Nick, who made the visit even better with great hospitality. I had the Apple Butter Biscuit Bottom, and everything was cooked perfectly. The biscuit was crisp on the outside but still soft on the inside, the bacon was cooked just right, and the eggs were perfectly fried hard. The apple butter was amazing and really brought the whole dish together. My wife had the Awakened Bacon Filet Sandwich, and it was also cooked perfectly. The steak was a perfect medium well with just the right amount of pink, and the flavors worked really well together. I also tried the Blackberry Bramble Mimosa, and it was mixed perfectly. It had great flavor and was still nice and strong. Overall, Toasted was a great spot with great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back! read more

Crazy good hearty breakfast in Calabash on Father's Day. No wait and VIP parking by the door at 9:30am. Very pleasant surprise. The menu is unique and the food is flavorful. My youngest who usually keeps it simple, expanded her taste buds with the Apple butter biscuit bottom. My son, got the sampler. My wife and oldest daughter got the fires chicken biscuit bottom and I ordered the country fried fillet mignon with eggs OE and home fries. I enjoyed my meal and joined the clean plate club and helped my daughter with her fried chicken BB. Everyone did well and ate most of the food. Service was great even with a large crowd. They have mimosas and spiked coffee but we did not partake since we were hitting the road toward home afterwards. The Eddie Muenster burger had well seasoned and seared beef; it wasn't the flavor bomb I was expecting from the description. Didn't taste anything resembling bourbon or apple butter, but it was good. The fries were hot and fresh. She enjoyed her Pineapple Express burger and had a beautiful side of berries. The server was nice and very attentive. The decor is pretty basic, but nice. Emma our server was fantastic and greeted us with such enthusiasm and friendliness. She gave us great suggestions for menu items. Went for lunch at about 1pm, and it was not busy so we got a quiet table by the wall. Massive Mimosa and Cocktail menu! We had delicious prime rib egg rolls which were hot and yummy. The fruit and chicken salad was fresh and tangy. The burger was ordered medium (but was dripping red juice and should have been cooked longer) , but was so delicious hubby ate it that way and did not mention it to the server. Next time we say medium well, but shouldn't have to. We will return to try some dinner entrees that were not available any longer, but their website menu should be updated to reflect that. read more

Wanted to try lunch as breakfast here is delish! We tried a Greek salad with grilled chicken. The salad was fresh and plentiful. Lots of olives and cheese and more than enough chicken. The dressing was nice too not too tangy. We also tried the thank Jesus for cheese grilled cheese. I have never had a grilled cheese this dang good. The gooeyness and different cheeses was over the top. And if that wasn't enough the bread was coated and crisped with Parmesan cheese. YUM! We have been wanting to try toasted for quite a while so I called to see about getting a reservation for my wife's birthday brunch on a Saturday for a party of 8 of us. The staff had no problem making that happen, when we got there everything was set up for us, staff were all super friendly, attentive and on it. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable and very welcoming. The menu is incredible with so many unique items it was truly hard to decide on one. The drink menu was beyond amazing and bourbon menu alone was spectacular. I ordered their biscuit bottom country fried filet mignon and oh my god was it amazing! Everyone raved about the food and service. We will be regulars from here on out. Thank you for a great time, my wife absolutely loved her birthday brunch with her friends. Attempted to go in for breakfast on 11/26/25. Hostess sat us quickly, they were not busy so was looking to some biscuit bottoms. We sat with our menus closed ready to order over ten minutes however, no one ever came over to greet us, take our drink order or even just say sorry be right with you. When we finally hit our breaking point and walked out the hostess thanked us for coming in. I had left so frustrated I had left my phone at the table and to go back inside and retrieve it. When I did the hostess was attempting to apologize basically saying that she had forgotten she had sat us. We got carryout. First impression is the restaurant is filthy and falling apart. Dust on surfaces, slimey floors, holy drywall and tiles in kitchen coming up. Crab cake was disgusting. I've never had a bad crab cake until now. Couldn't even eat a second bite. Drunken chicken was slop and disgusting. Brussels were out of a can and tossed with balsamic. This place needs help. I tossed $100 worth of food because it was so gross. I'd be concerned with cross contamination after watching the kitchen staff handling food and not washing hands between. The standard around the area is low but this is probably one of the worst places I've tried in my 14 years in the area. For the record, this review was not directed toward the staff nor an attempt to get refunded. The staff were decent. But the food was so bad that I didn't even want to have the conversation to get the restaurant to correct it. If they actually cared, the place would be more presentable and the food would show. Where are y'all? This understated restaurant has some of the finest food and drink throughout the Grand Strand. Unassuming exterior and interior does not influence the quality of the food. Now open every evening but Sunday, my party had the place to ourselves. Drink menu is extensive and delicious. Food selections are to die for.
