We were looking to have brunch close by and decided on milk & honey. Parking: We were able to find a spot upfront with no issues. Atmosphere: Was greeted by Ashley who was very sweet. She was also our waitress as well. We got there 11:27 and was seated right away. We waited literally 2 hours and the food was nasty. Very bland, and upsetting to say the least. Their waffles are not Belgian waffles so be aware! You can do half and half waffles but they charge $3 additional. They advertise chicken and waffles however, it's not on the menu. You have to create it. Our $17 meal turned into $36 a piece because of it. This would not be an issue if the food was good but it was nasty. We tried the peach mango mimosas and they were watered down and served in diner style cups - which were dirty! How gross! And the silverware were dirty also so we opted for plastics. The floor had me sliding around from water or sweat because that's another thing - it was extremely hot in there! Also, they only have one bathroom so keep that in mind. I'm just disappointed. Let's start with the service. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal and attentive. Needs we easily met, specials were explained up front and we never lacked for anything. Trice was one of the best parts of this dining experience. On to the food: I had the fish and grits and my husband had the hangover. The fish and grits was absolutely delicious. The consistency of the gross was perfect and the cheese in them adds just a little extra flavor to push it over the top. While I do not do spicy, my husband does so we got the Cajun cream sauce in the side and he said it was amazing. The hangover is not a fried cube steak. It is a real steak. **Disappointing Experience - Poor Service & Overpriced Food** We really wanted to support this Black-owned business, but our visit was a letdown in almost every way. From the start, it took a while just to get seated. The coffee was weak, and while our waitress was decent, she was clearly stretched too thin with too many tables. The manager was also serving tables, which might explain why service was so slow. The biggest issue? It took **a full hour** to get our food--just as we were about to leave. I ordered 4 chicken wings and a waffle, but the wings were tiny and underwhelming. My wife had a waffle with 4 slices of bacon, which was fine, but nothing special. For **$50**, two waffles, 4 small wings, and 4 pieces of bacon is outright robbery. The quality and service just don't justify the price. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

The service was unacceptable from the start. Online, the restaurant shows it opens at 9 a.m., but when I arrived to pick up my order at 9:30, I was told by staff that they don't open until 10. Even though my order confirmation said it would be ready by 9:30, they refused to give me the food until after 10. When 10 finally came, the food still wasn't ready. They didn't have the red velvet waffle I ordered, and instead of contacting me or offering an alternative, they just gave me whatever they felt like making. It took another 30 minutes before I even got my food, which means I spent over an hour waiting for an order that was supposed to be ready at 9:30. Once I got the food, half of it was missing. Even though they read the receipt, they still managed to get the order wrong. When I went back in to ask about the missing items, I was told again that they didn't have the waffle I ordered and just replaced it without saying anything. When I finally got home and tried the food, it was terrible. The chicken was extremely salty, the waffle was greasy, the biscuits were soggy, and the syrup was covered with foil instead of a lid--by the time I made it home, it had leaked everywhere. Overall, the entire experience was disappointing. Between the misleading hours, the long wait, the incorrect order, and the poor food quality, this place is not worth the money. Possibly the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. It obvious why Keith Lee gave this restaurant a poor score for its customer service. Upon entering the restaurant, it took nearly 10mins for staff to acknowledge us to be seated. Once seated, our drinks and order was taken within 15mins of being seated. While waiting for our order, we were fighting the urge from passing out due to heat exhaustion. The restaurant did not have their ac system on but in stead had a little mini fan off in the corner of the room to cool down the entire restaurant. To make matters worse, we received our bottle water that was hot and our mimosa that was served warm from a fountain cup. An hour and a half has passed and we ask our server how much longer before our food arrives and we were told 15mins. 25mins later still no appetizer or entree, we politely asked for our check. While trying to pay for the check, I noticed confrontation between the server and kitchen staff ( unprofessional) and our server proceeds to tell me she has to charge me for a plate that was already plated (gumbo over rice) and an automatic 20% gratuity. $95 for 3 bottles of hot pure life water bottles, 4 slices of green tomatoes, pitcher of warm mimosa and bland watered down gumbo. It's obvious how this place scams it patrons for their lack luster customer service and won't own up to their flaws. They should be ashamed at how this establishment is ran and start making corrections before expanding based off of Keith Lees review. At this rate I don't see this place being open for long. I believe that everything doesn't have to just have Cajun seasoning to be good and flavorful, adding garlic and onion powder would just fine too! It was too salty for me. Everyone was super nice, ole school music playing and really good prices for a Georgia restaurant (they sometimes get really pricey and the entrees/flavor do not match the price). The service was spot on. Everything we had at Milk and Honey taste absolutely amazing. The only thing I would say is less juice in the mimosas (I'm from Cali and we want to taste the champagne). I wish I could give this place a sub-zero rating - it was THAT bad! My brother took my mom and I here for brunch to celebrate our birthdays and we drove over 45 minutes to get there, only to have a HORRIBLE experience. Upon walking in, my brother was surprised that it was set up like a cafeteria/diner, as he thought it was a 'nice' brunch restaurant... but we could get past that if the food was great. Unfortunately, it absolutely wasn't! For those that don't care to read all the details, the summary is: 1) They wouldn't serve me water, 2) The bathroom sink was inoperable, 3) The drinks weren't prepared uniformly, 4) The food came out incorrectly, undercooked and inedible, and 5) Service was slow. Now, for the details... When asked what we'd like to drink, I ordered water. After reminding the server three times, he finally tells me they don't have any water. Of course, I thought he was joking. But no - they only sell bottled water and they were out of it. So I asked for a glass of water and was told they didn't serve glasses of water... WHAT?!? So my only options were to order a sugary drink (which cost more than the bottle of water that I really wanted) or an alcoholic beverage or to eat my food with nothing to wash it down. UNBELIEVABLE. I then went to the bathroom and when I went to wash my hands, after lathering them up with soap I realized that the sink was inoperable and the handle to the faucet was completely broken off! I had to walk out with soapy hands and find out if there was another bathroom I could use. The better question is, how were the several people I'd seen go in and out of the bathroom, including employees, unable to wash their hands?! Next issue was my brother ordered a pineapple mimosa, which came to the table in a glass topped with fresh fruit... it looked so good that my mom ordered the same thing. Her drink came to the table in a glass with no fruit, just the drink. It wasn't until we asked that they realized it was made differently, and they brought her fruit on the side to put into her drink herself. When our food came to the table, my mother's fried brussels sprouts were completely raw on the inside and inedible and my brother's food was so salty that it too was inedible. As for me, I ordered blackened salmon and grits and they brought out fried salmon and grits... so I had to wait for them to bring out the correct order. When the 'blackened' salmon came out, there was no visible seasoning on it and I asked to confirm it was blackened and the server said yes... even though it clearly was not. I then asked for a manager who confirmed that it was not blackened salmon. So for our birthday brunch, half of my mom's food and my brother's food was inedible and I didn't eat at all because they could not get my order right and we'd already been there an hour and a half. On top of all that, a couple a few tables earlier walked out without eating because they couldn't get their orders right either. Then, as we were complaining to the manager, a large party nearby overhead us and said their food was messed up as well. So essentially all of the customers in the restaurant had a bad experience. Upon speaking with the assistant manager (the manager was busy helping correct issues at the table with the large party) I was told that yes, the faucet in the bathroom is broken but if you push on the screw/pipe sticking up, you can turn the water on and that she'd just done so... basically, patrons are supposed to figure out how to jury-rig the sink to get it to work without a faucet... ok....... She apologized and took my meal (which was sent back twice and never eaten) off the bill and took half of my brother's meal off. However, the kicker was that I explained the whole issue of not being able to order water and how I didn't want a sugary drink and only drank a third of the glass of sweet tea, so I'd like them to take it off the bill - she was adamant that she could not do so... that's where the line was drawn - at the sweet tea!? Needless to say, I let them know that obviously we would NEVER come back. read more

I ordered a few days ago and got a delicious fried pork chop over some average eggs and only mediocre biscuits. However, I was here for the pork chop. Was taken here while visiting family in Georgia. My mother knows that I Love Black owned businesses, so one day while the fam was out and about trying to decide what to eat, she brought us to Milk & Honey. Let's cut to the chase. One of the best meals if not the best meal I've ever had!!!! My mother had the Duet (grilled chicken & shrimp layered over creamy Alfredo Penne pasta). She loved it. I had the Half & Half (half red velvet and half Key Lime waffle) with fried chicken tenders. I loved it! Dang! Those waffles were amazing!!! Oh, wait! Speaking of amazing...! My cousin had...I can't remember what his main dish was but his two sides were the mac and cheese and candied yams. He's still talking about how good the mac and cheese was/is! He's not a fan of yams but liked Milk & Honey's. He was kind enough to share some of the yams with us and after one bite, we had to tell the waitress to give our compliments to whomever made the meals cos everything was bangin'!! On a scale from 1 - 10... Atmosphere - 20 Music - 20 Service - 30 Food - 30 Staff - 30 Everything was above average. Above and beyond! To quote Buzz Lightyear, "to infinity and beyond"!!!!! Oh snap! I almost forgot! I at my chicken and waffels at the spot. But there are photos on the wall of some of their delicacies. So my Daughter has been wanting to check this place out since they announced this new location, parking is tight but from the start we got a warm greeting and since it was our first time they went over the menu and the process. So you look at the menu while you stand in line then they take your order at the register give you your drinks then you sit at whatever table or tables that fit your party with a number, we ordered the honey butter biscuits and biscuits and gravy as appetizers. The biscuits are from scratch the honey butter was good, the gravy was on point! Then we ordered the OG Shrimp and grits, the ruby and Kiki waffle, and the The Northside Biscuits Eggs and Fish. Starting with the shrimp and grits, if I had anything to complain about it would be put a few more shrimp in there, the grits were some of the best I've ever had, the shrimp with sausage and tomato based sauce had amazing flavor. The Ruby & Kiki waffle is a half and half waffle with half being red velvet and the other side being Keylime pie, with a slice of keylime pie on top, it was good looks like a Christmas waffle. Then the Northside was I nice portion of food, with biscuits at the bottom surrounded by scrambled eggs and topped with catfish (your choice of fish), it comes with a gravy that we poured over the top and squeezed some lemon, everything was amazing on this dish, fish fried crispy and biscuits hot and fresh it was really the end to our great brunch. This was my first time trying out milk and honey and had heard mixed reviews. When I went in there were no employees to greet or let you know where to be seated. We finally sat and it took them a while to come take our order and it was early on Sunday only about 1 larger group of 8 ppl and another table of 4 there. Our waiter was very nice and helped give recommendations on what to order. I ordered the fried steak with eggs and potatoes. It came with gravy. I'd say the food it self was decent it wasn't spectacular. I did enjoy the potato's very flavorful and the gravy was also good. I also ordered the biscuit with honey butter. That was not good at all. The biscuit was very doughy and undercooked and I sent it back and got another one which was also not cooked. I'm not sure if that's how they are supposed to be but I didn't like it. The honey butter tasted like regular butter and sugar nothing special. Pineapple juice I ordered tasted like the one from the can they made it seem like it was freshly made. There is also minimal seating a small place. Not enough employees helping. Was very over priced for the quality of the food. Probably won't go again. read more

Finally, a couple other small nits... Cold atmosphere (despite the warm balmy room)..not inviting at all. And, they do not offer ice water. If you want water, you must purchase a $2.50 bottle. That said, the wait staff was polite enough... Not above and beyond by any means, but pleasant enough given the horrificness of everything else, and the food was good overall. Anyway, this place needs some serious management changes. Was our first and last time and would recommend to avoid this place like the plague.
