First time going to this location and I was only here to pick up an order for this past Christmas 2 wks ago. I ordered one of the best cakes in their lineup: the grasshopper pie cake! This beautiful masterpiece had chocolate chip cake and chocolate malt cake layered with mint cheesecake and cookies and cream milk crumbs. So I picked it up from this location being that I'm in Queens and Williamsburg was closer than Carrol Gardens. Wasn't as hard as I thought to get to just a few blocks from the G and being in true Williamsburg hipster fashion the location looked hidden away from view and low key. The staff was friendly and paid special attention in handling and packing the cake for me to take on my way. So no issues at all. We were going South anyway, so we stopped by Milk Bar for a quick ice cream on this beautiful day. We prematurely ordered a cereal milk ice cream and a pretzel shake before noticing they had a seasonal Crack Pie soft serve. Oh Well. Ours was still great as always. Plenty of summer left to try the Crack Pie SS. As for wait, we walked right in and ordered. I see some complaints about waiting. Was not worth it. I got 3 cookies. There wasn't a line in front of me, but it took a long time to heat up my cookies and give them to me. What's up with that? I had the compost cookie, the blueberry and cream cookie and the marshmallow cookie. They were quite disgusting. I could only take two bites of each cookie before they went in the trash. The cookies were dry and stale. Even heated up they were hard. I expected fresh cookies but they were prepackaged and old :(. What a waste of 6.25. Definitely not something you find at Baskin Robbins so I quickly plunked my Lincoln note for a cup. The serving was tiny (-1 star for value) and they give you those wooden scrape spoons you typically eat your marinero's Italian ice cups with, which sort of moved me to tears. (I had a million of them as a kid). I did not care for the crumbs, but the ice cream itself was scrumptious. I'm not a fan of Momofuku Milk Bar or their prices. And this location offers very little seating...a bench inside and a bench outside (which seats 3 people per bench). Considering the prices that they charge for their desserts and drinks, you would imagine that paying premium prices for their cereal milk soft-serve entitles you to somewhere to sit to enjoy it...but, it doesn't. Lack of seating pretty much says either "don't eat here" or "eat it fast and get the hell out"- well, that's the impression that I get when I barely even have room to wait at the counter. My sister used Milk Bar for her wedding cake. The cool thing is you don't have to just have one type. She ended up doing 4 different kinds. Granted, I was pretty full after the wedding meal, but I tried the chocolate malt and the strawberry lemon. The chocolate was a little dry, but the strawberry was really good.
