Maybe I read the website wrong but this place is AMAZING!! Visting from NYC and I do enjoy goth and industrial venus. The website said Goth is on Wednesdays. It was a friday night and we decided to give it a shot. Holy cow!! it has three , yes three dance floors : goth, 80s/90s, and industrial. But the 80s dance floor mixes it up!! You get a little bit of everything. We had so much fun! The bartender at the 80s dance floor was soo sweet. I left happy to know i got my industrial, goth and 80s fix. i live these kinda of clubs because you are welcomed and no drama gets started. Also, i accidentally left my hat and scarf. Honestly worst club experience I've had. It was hot and muggy in every room expected upstairs and outside the front. The floors were sticky and you had to push yourself through people to get through. The music was wack nothing but techno in almost every room expect two one had 80's the other 00's. Of course that would be a smaller room with games and a pool table but not enough room for people to lounge if they wanted too. And the other room was muggy and super dark with cheap lighting. Around 12:00 o'clock there was some man walking around offering coke. If you want to have a good night drinking with some friends I don't recommend coming here. read more

I'm in my 40's and had ton of fun dancing the night away to 80's music. 5 bucks cover, drinks are strong, crowded but not suffocating, and open until 2 am. All types of different ages, sexual orientation, and dress everyone having fun! Some cross dressers, a woman with her boyfriend on a leash, girls with too little clothing and too much make-up makes for excellent people watching. If someone asked me if my idea of a good time would be to hang at a "goth bar" for a night, I'd definitively, without hesitation, say no - in every language there ever was. However, if a friend who consistently shows you the off-the-beaten-path oddities of the world and encourages you to fly your freak flag more often because the planet is a dull one without said wacky humans asks you, nay, tells you, that she's excited to take you to previously mentioned bar, you go. And you don't ask questions. While not somewhere I'd want to spend a ton of precious vacation/weekend time in Denver (or living in, for that matter), I love that places like Milk exist. Not everyone is into the mainstream tunes, fashion, or Real Housewives franchise. For those that don't give a fuck about what other people think and live for themselves, there's Milk. Three different rooms offering up New Wave, mild goth, and hardcore goth scenes (though, I was expecting more shock value from this last one). Each room has its own personality and bar with stiff, cheap drinks...there's also a smoking patio that's well lit so you can see the venue's most eclectic without having to stare so hard. Also, for the record, I have no idea what New Wave is, I'm just regurgitating what I heard a couple other people refer to it as that night, and I'm pretty confident I was the only patron wearing pastel. read more

So, when my wife first suggested we head out to a "goth" bar (or a goth night at a bar, anywho), I was a bit skeptical to say the least. I mean, I'm the guy who admittedly sometimes has trouble pulling off a trendy pair of sunglasses (but please, I prefer to be called "fashionably challenged" instead of the more free-ranging "geek" or "dweeb..."). But, what the hell... it was a crap week, and there needed to be a couple of drinks at the end of it. So, off we went... We showed a bit early to check it out, and were a bit unnerved by the "alley entrance". No worries, though, all was ok. :) The place is divided into two rooms, one of which was mostly 80s and the other was industrial techno-ish with a fun goth twist (just don't tell them I called them "fun"... tell them I said that they were "deep in a Russian literary type of way..."). The staff was really cool, answered questions, etc, so good there. The decor is half dive bar, half industrial club. We ended up staying on the goth side, after a fashion rehab on my part. The crowd was fantastic. Everybody was doing their own thing, and people watching was great. Let's just say you'll be in the majority if you go the leather & dog collar avenue. Better yet, though, was that everybody was cool. I don't remember being out to a bar/club scene without some jackass starting a fight and ruining it. Soooo much better than the meathead joints over on Larimer. So, we will absolutely be back to Milk for another go-round. Great place with four main areas, each with their own music, theme and people. Very friendly staff and the DJs are awesome! I even got a picture of one of the playlists and added to my Apple Music to share with friends and family. Fun for people watching, went for 80's night and felt like I went into a time machine. Of my group of 3 we were the most generic dressed (t-shirt and jeans) no one seemed to judge. It's definitely worth checking out. read more

Milk makes me so HAPPY! To be honest with you the first time I walked into Milk I was a little scared. Having seen a good amount of Denver's night life, this was a lot different then what I am accustomed to. I soon came to find out that this was the place for me. The people are so nice no one goes to milk to be " top dog." I think that's what makes Milk so fun in my opinion. It takes so much stress out. Not having to give a flying F@#K about how you look, dance, or act. It's also very hard to go to a bar/club and feel like you are getting your moneys worth when it comes to drinks. Milk does very good in this matter. I find myself not knowing what I do with my life after 3 long islands. I don't know about you but to me that's a plus. If I pay $8.00 for a drink it better have a decent amount of alcohol in it. The bartenders are also very nice and that's always refreshing. read more

So after clubbing in Albuquerque my standards are pretty low. Milk is a dance club, that is great people watching, and a safe place to get down and boogie. Anyone is welcome there,and you will see people from all walks of life. The goth scene is alive and well at Milk. Personally I would rather hangout around goths than fake hipsters, at least they like to dance and celebrate life. If you get their early, free cover before 10 PM and 1$ Pabst cans. So my boyfriend did not care for the music, but as it was way better than 90% of the clubs I have been to and better value. read more

I'd been gone for a while and came back into town wondering where the underground goth rivethead cyber anarchist counterculture that characterized Denver nightlife for me had gone. APPARENTLY THIS IS WHERE. Three major areas: one that is 80s and will piss you off. Another green-ish room where you will hear seriously legit industrial (props to that DJ), and then the big area where all the goths go: I swear as I walked in for the first time they were playing Sisters of Mercy haha. There is a patio off this area that is probably the busiest area in the place, where everyone goes to inhale various things and jibber jabber. Saw a lot of friends here from the old days! Bottom line: it's the only place to go for this scene and it's still apparently -- mysteriously -- booming. Extra info: $5 cover after a certain time but I don't know what that time is. Parking behind the alley (where the entrance is) is $10, be forewarned. Bathrooms are actually relatively clean for a club. Doug from the old school Church days is bartending in the gothy goth goth area and Black Cat from Netherworld is in the 80s area. Tip the hell out of these people. read more

In my opinion, this is the most unpretentious club in Denver. It is primarily a goth/industrial club. Wednesdays has a goth/industrial main room and an "alternative goth/ebm/whatever" room, and Saturdays there is the main room (similar to wednesdays), an eighties themed room, and the "green room" which rotates djs every weekend with different styles and genres on display. This room will generally please fans of old, underground, and/or non-mainstream goth/industrial (I like the main room and its ambiance, but they generally play more crowd pleaser type tracks). You'll get underground and old-school industrial, batcave/goth rock/death rock, witch house, and many other cool things in the green room, depending on what night you visit. The best djs in the scene in Denver generally play in this room. Alright, enough about the green room... Wednesdays have no cover. Saturdays are free before 10 and 5 dollars afterwards. If this is your kind of music then you should be aware that this club (and Sunday nights at the church) are the weekly stand-bys for most people in the scene. Drinks are cheap and they have a good selection, all things considered. There are also a lot of non-scene normal types, particularly on Saturdays for the eighties themed room. Everyone gets along. People mind their own business, but at the same time most of the regulars are very approachable if you care to socialize, "normal" or not. Like I said, the people in this scene are, by in large, very unpretentious and down to earth. All of my non-goth friends love it, for what that's worth to you. read more

Overall a good night. In the green room it took the bartender about 8 minutes to make one single drink and he was clearly on drugs. I am a bartender myself and understand how to serve multiple parties at the same time. It was frustrating to watch homeboy serve one person, take 8 min to make a drink and then ask the next person what they wanted. He The reason I am rating 4 stars as opposed to no stars is because Anthony in the dark room was quick, efficient and friendly. The green room was abysmal and the bartender should learn how to make more than one order at once. It's unreal to wait 15 min for a white claw when there are only 6 people standing at the bar. I have never a seen such a lack of urgency when there are crowds around a bar. As a bartender myself, I appreciate a little hustle. Also the the bartender in the green rooom (in addition to taking about 10 min on one single drink) forgot my order repeatedly which was very sImple (5 white claws and 2 shots of tequila). Overall, I had a nice time, but the service (aside from Anthony) was lacking. read more

First thing's first, You have to enter through the back door in the alley. When we showed up last night we were looking at this dark, empty buiding thinking "Oh no, it's closed!" Don't worry, it's not :] It's 21+ Free to get in before 10. The place is really fun inside. One of the rooms is Clockwork Orange inspired and is bright cream, orange, and black. It plays 80's and upbeat alternative such as some ska songs. There is a lack of seating compared to the other room which is a major downfall. There are 5 booths and maybe 5 stools in there. The other room on the bottom level is dark and dungeon-like with brick walls. But there is ample AMPLE seating, the whole place is lined with fun looking bench style seats with plenty of pillows and a few tables for drinks. This area was playing goth and industrial tunes such as "Spoke" by I, Parasite and Skinny Puppy. There is also an upstairs area which was also charming, sort of like a dining hall in an old castle maybe? However no music was playing and it was roped off. read more

Not a bad place to come and get your Goth dip on for $5. It kinda reminds me of the Dead Beats Club back in its heyday, you know, way before it burned down to the ground. The drinks are served in kiddie-sized plastic juice cups unless you order canned beer. I usually get well gin or vodka for about $5 a drink which is a bit of a rip off. It is what it is though. There are two separate rooms to shake a tail feather in: 80's/New Wave room and Gothic Industrial room. The goth side is kept super dark (of course), but has more room and seating. The 80's side is a bit more colorful, but not as spacious. Both sides offer a lot of patrons wearing lots of black leather bound goods. Music selection is not too bad in either room. The bathrooms are an effing nightmare. There's always a damn line and it's always gross. The filthy, unhygienic she-beasts that patron this club must be nasty as hell at home. Piss on the seats, used toilet paper shoved all over the place, and feminine products not disposed of in the proper receptacles. WTF. I feel bad for the person that has to clean up after the club is closed. read more

Ahh milk, it does a body good. It's good for dancing, good for people watching, good for something different where no matter who you are, you can't be out of place. This place is just accepting of all types of people. 2 different rooms with 2 very different styles. I have been on Goth/80's night, which is just an interesting mix if you ask me. Anyways, people in both rooms were dancing like no one was watching (I was, but I don't judge) and having an all-around great time. Sometimes, you want to wear a black lace dress and thigh-high boots without looking like a whore. This is a great place for it. I stick to the dungeon, on Saturday, goth night. There is lots to look at, good dancin and good drinks. If you're not down for dancing there are plenty of dark corners to curl up in and what the world roll by. We end up here three or four times a year on any given Saturday after a night out with the ladies to finish off the night dancing to 80's and 90's retro music with a new wave spin. There are two rooms with two different DJ's and if you're not dancing to the retro awesomeness you can sneak around the corner to the goth dance floor and get your inner vampire moving. Or people watch. Or go grab a drink from the two awesome bar tenders and then get your vamp on. Or people watch. Or just go dance, damnit! Not sure why Milk is listed as closed?? I am there at least twice a week and have been for over 2 years. The staff and bartenders are amazing! I love being able to walk up to the bar and have my drink waiting for me- a great perk of going to the same bartender for many years. The music is usually top-notch- the DJs are fairly open to requests and there are often guest DJs that help keep the music fresh and fun. I love that they are branching out on Friday nights with some themed evenings and fun events- I highly recommend Repent. read more

Milk is my favorite place in Denver. Yeah, drinks are pretty small, but they're not hugely expensive. The bartenders are super cool people and the atmosphere is fantastic. It's dark, loud, and usually pretty full of people. It's one of few places where I know exactly what I'm going to get every single time. I've also never felt so comfortable dancing somewhere - I am free to wiggle as weirdly as I'd like, and I'm a huge fan of that. I did once end up here on a summer night in a bright pink and blue sundress, which was a super long night because I felt insanely out of place, but whatever. I love flitting back and forth between the two rooms to get my different dance needs met. Overall, highly recommend, 10/10, most wonderful place in Denver, but for your squarer friends, you might want to warn them before you bring them. read more

I had never been to Milk before I went to see Broken Note. I was pleasantly surprised. You enter in the back alley underneath Bar Standard it is almost one of those "if you didn't know it was there" situations. The interior is odd and interesting. There are low ceilings, weird lighting, plenty of seating, and great drink prices. The front room which is bright white turns dark red and there are black lights throughout. The sound in that room is not very good but if you want to get a drink without a line --- this is the room to do it in. The back room is much darker and there is something seedy and sexy about it. The acoustics in the room were fantastic for the Broken Note show and oddly the room was never packed or even crowded. There were no douche bags and no one that looked like they were drinking LoDo style. It is just kind of a chill and relaxed but with fantastic live music. read more

Not quite what I was expecting but I had a lot of fun here last weekend. 80s music in one room and "who knows what else" in the other room. Both rooms were fun and great for dancing and people watching but we spend the majority of our time in the darker lounge area. I was surprised by the diverse group of people...from your goth types, to emo boys and girls, pinup ladies, normal dorks like me and my friends to meatheads and cheerleader types, both young and not so young. And no one cared if you couldn't stop staring. Everyone seemed secure in their own skin and happy doing their own thing. Quite refreshing! Definitely a place worth revisiting. read more

The dj last night is my hero. Old school hip hop...boom boom! Danced til I had to go home and pass the eff out. It was the best danceable music I have heard in a long time in Denver. Yes! I love this place! I haven't been since last year but I did go regularly and plan to get back to it. This place has two ground level dance floors- one mainly plays 80s and the other more grunge/trance- a dance floor and stage on the second level- moreso dance/disco tunes- which I believe may be considered Bar Standard, and two additional open patio dance floors on the third level which consist of Top 40s in one area and R&B in the other. The dance floors on the second and third floors are not always open (not sure if there is a schedule or what) but I spend most of my time in the room I like to call the 'dungeon' which is the grunge/trance room which is off of the smoking patio. I call it the dungeon because you have to walk down a short but downward sloping hallway to get to it and it's dark and dank ... just right for vampires, crazies, and dark spirits like myself. *wink* No matter what you do or what you look like, you fit right in here. I've been amongst a group of pansexual people who remained all over each other all night and most people around us could careless about what we were doing. I've been damn near naked, damn near sexed, and completely dressed in character with no issues. That may not be your bag but, I said all of that to say, I love the freedom and nonjudgmental quality of the venue and the patrons. read more

This is my favorite place for dancing. Goth night on Wednesdays and Saturdays are my favorite. The various alcoves are great if you just want to dance with your friends, whereas the central area of the room closer to where the DJ spins is better for dancing with a lively crowd. Can't speak for the drinks because I go to dance and try to stay hydrated with water, but there is always a steady stream of people at the bar so it can't be that bad. The bartenders are friendly and responsive. And it's not closed, contrary to what the Yelp profile says as of 8/14/15! read more

These people are unbelievable. I was assaulted for no reason by some dude on drugs and they kicked me out. They told me they were going to find the guy, but the guy stayed inside. I asked for a refund and they did not give it. I identified the guy when he came out and the bouncers did nothing to help out. This review is primarily for the goth nights, Wednesday and Saturday. The club itself is downstairs from what is now known as Bar Standard. The entrance is on the backside of the building, in the alley. Walk by the Arby's and when you see a bunch of folks in black clothes and eyeliner smoking on the outside patio you know you are close. In warm weather there will be a collection of scooters and motorcycles across from the entrance. There is a parking lot behind the building that costs $5.00, though I have never had a problem finding a free spot within a block or two. Get there before 10 and it is free to enter, after that $5.00 at most. You wander down a long hall, straight ahead lies one half of the club, across from the DJ booth are the bathrooms and hallway to the other half of the club. Wednesday nights are goth, industrial, ebm in both rooms. Between the two rooms you can usually find something you like. Lots of seating in both rooms. Contrary to rumor goth folks are very friendly, most will cheerfully chat if you strike up a conversation that does not start with, "I like your boobs" (to girls) or "Why do you wear makeup if you are not gay" (to guys). If you really want to meet people head to the smoking patio, which is packed all night. Saturday is 80s night in the first room, it draws a good crowd of folks who like to dance to the electronic tunes of that era. The darker (literally) room sticks to industrial and goth. Both nights the dance floors stay fairly packed, this music and scene are all about dancing. If you come without an attitude you will find this one of the easiest club scenes to meet people, have a good time and dance. Plus you can wear all black which looks good on everyone. This is my wife's and my favorite club to visit for our "goth date nights" once a month, for Wake The Dead. We've been to a couple of other places, but this one's our favorite. Comfortable seating all around and always a good time. We wish you could combine the awesome patio and gothic styling of The Church with the layout of Milk. We also like drifting between the different rooms, usually some great synth/80s/EDM going on, as well. Definitely a fun night! read more

Love this place but hate having to guess what events are happening from nite to nite. Maybe they only advertise to 20 somethings via some platform older people aren't hip enough to know about. All of co-clubs should update nightly events online and via Facebook at a minimum. So many nights I go home over guessing. A little marketing goes along way. read more

Loved this spot! I was in from out of town and selected this club/ lounge after reading some of the reviews. It did not disappoint. It's like a maze walking around, experiencing different rooms each with their own theme. I was told that different nights of the week also have entirely unique experiences. I got lost several times but that was part of the fun. The arcade section was awesome as was the rooftop bar and dance area. A great mix of people from every demographic, everyone there to have a good time. Drinks reasonably priced. read more

I'm a usual Friday night customer but I was asked to pay an entrance fee twice just because I had stepped out of the club for 2 minutes.

Favorite place in Denver. Love you milk. Come here alone or with friends, either way you'll have a great time
