As soon as the two electricians came by, they got to work by taking the fan up into the attic, finding a good enough power source to create an additional line, and were finished within an hour or so. They were all business, in and out, very efficient. Not very personable, but they did communicate their efforts without running into any difficulties. Definitely Experienced electricians. I would surely recommend this business if you need something installed --and don't want to go through the business of wasting a morning talking to someone else, who will charge you more. Nice job guys!

Scheduling with them initially was a little confusing - first we were messaging through Yelp, then text, then they sent me to their website. They were communicative but I never knew which channel to reach out to first. They did come out quickly which was appreciated. The first two gentleman that came to replace my fan and fix my ceiling light were not great. They would look at something, and then disappear and call someone and be on the phone with someone while they were looking at the fan or light fixture, almost like they were calling someone and asking them what they should do. Shouldn't they know? They were at my house for HOURS. WAY longer than I think they should have been. They would just look at the light fixture and talk to each other for like 5 minutes, then step out to make a phone call, then come back and start working on it. Over and over and over. They took a brand new fan out of the box and replaced it, but it wobbled like crazy (turns out they just didn't put the fan together really well because the second guys that came back made it much better). When they replaced my dimmer switch and celiing light, it looked AWFUL. Wasn't flush to the ceiling at all. They told me just to patch it, but this clearly needed more than a patch! I couldn't believe they just left it like that. I called and told them I was unhappy with their work, and they offered to come back and fix it. The second guys that came back were in and out so fast. They fixed the light and it looks perfect, just as it should. Clearly the first guys that came out had no idea what they were doing. Disappointed to have had a less than stellar experience, considering how highly reviewed they are. It must depend on what service folks you have come out to actually do the work.

I called licensed electrician: Ken Electrical, Inc. and he quoted me 1/3 of the price and he came back to check everything was ok for free. In-n-out electric should of just took my money and not argued over a foot-3feet of electrical wire.

We needed a complete electric rewire of an…read moreolder home we just bought so we had multiple electric companies come by to do an inspection and to give us a quote. The technician who came by was pleasant, but when he heard we wanted a complete rewire, he did not even inspect the property or the amp panel. He just ballparked us a random number that made absolutely no sense. It was when I asked him to do an inspection to review the scope of work that he half heartedly opened a few outlets and said "ok, we're just going to replace them." In the end he gave me a quote verbally and never even sent me an actual quote that was promised. I would be extremely careful working with this company or choosing them for any high level electric work. If you review them on BBB or the California licensing board, you'll see that the owner is C-10 licensed but his workers are contractors who are working under his license. In comparing them to other electric companies in SGV in which the workers are licensed, this company uses just random contractors so the quality of your work varies.

A tenant an issue with an old outlet that was on the outside of the house. The outlet had been…read morethere before the GFCI outlets were required and there was a short due to the tenant plugging their EV to charge during those heavy rains in November that caused the outlet to stop working and fried the tenant's charger. Fortunately there wasn't any electric fire or shorts at the house's electric panel. My brother put out a bid on Yelp to find a capable electrician who could replace it at a reasonable cost and we decided on taking a shot with J Powers Electric. They showed up at the time of the appointment which is a big plus in my book and they gave me an estimated time of completion barring any unforeseen complications. The current outlet was replaced with a brand new GFCI outlet with an in use weather cover and everything went smoothly and quickly. I'll definitely put J Powers Electric on my list of electricians to reach out to get bids for any other electric related needs I may have in the future.

Primo was the third company we reached out to for estimates and we chose them off of good vibes and competitive prices. I'm grateful for it. These guys are solid, honest people and won't recommend things you don't need. In fact, if you have a wild idea for something that is unnecessary or costly, they'll tell you up front so you know in advance. In addition to doing things the right way, they're respectful. I've chatted with a few companies about various house projects and David and Jesse treated me (a woman) like my input matters just as much as my husband's. It signals competence, excellence, and professionalism when, even though I say "my husband is the boss," a contractor checks with me just in case. And, it prevents arguments down the road. We've rehired Primo for light fixture swaps, outlet adds, new switch fixtures, and we plan to hire them for our upcoming upgrades because they're all around good people who do good work. What impressed me most was that, after learning the circuits would be used for air conditioners, he recommended that I first look into repairing or replacing the central AC instead--even though Central AC repair and replacement are not services he offers. That showed a great deal of integrity and genuine concern for what would make the most sense for me, rather than simply trying to make a sale. Although I have not had any work completed yet, I was very impressed with the service and honesty I received. If I decide to move forward with the dedicated circuits, I will definitely be using Primo Electric and plan to contact them for any future electrical work I may need.

Every place I contacted either told me they couldn't help or wanted me to replace the entire unit. Star Service 88 was the first company willing to actually diagnose the problem instead of giving up. The technician took the time to remove my head unit, completely disassemble it, find the issue, and repair it. They got mad when I asked that they be a man of their word and proceeded to kick me out. Dude went on a power trip cus he was in his business. Bet he isn't doing that outside those four walls.
