Other than that, the establishment is extremely clean. We got lucky and had the entire pool and jacuzzi area to ourselves for the day/night. Their staff is extremely pleasant. It was relatively affordable for the night we spent. It's located smack dab in the center of LG and the lake is right across the way. Small parking lot but very convenient and included in payment. Great hotel. Terrible management. Have stayed here regularly over the years but a recent set of interactions with the manager have been horrendous. I had requested some simple accommodations for my handicapped wife and the manager (Milah?) was rude, impatient and frankly horrific. At one point she said that my wife didn't look handicapped to her as "she's wasn't in a wheelchair"?! Her crude demeanor pervaded over the course of our stay and I witnessed repeated abrupt interactions with other guests at the window. My wife and I had a long weekend in Lake Geneva. We had the most wonderful experience at the Mill Creek. We felt like we were staying with a friend. Milah, the owner/GM, was a ROCKSTAR host. The attention to detail was paramount. The room was comfortable and clean and nicely decorated. There were bath robes and fancy folded towels. The free breakfast was awesome and way better than some of the breakfast restaurants in town. The location is great . We parked our van in the garage and did not have to drive at all for the weekend. We are looking forward to coming back soon to enjoy some winter activities and take the Christmas lights boat tour. read more

I would give this hotel more stars if I could! Our 2 night stay was wonderful. This hotel is amazing - do not let anyone deter you from booking here. Located right in the heart of lake geneva. We got the "gold suite". Room was clean, tons of towels, bathroom a good size. tub was huge! The little personal touches in the rooms are what did it for me. BUYER BEWARE! Below you will see the email I sent the mayor of Lake Geneva. Mill Creek management was unconcerned, unrelenting, and avaricious. We asked for an early departure and a refund on the two nights we had left--which would have been two more sleepless nights because our room was just above and across from the bandstand--and the hotel management did not offer to move us and would not offer us any consideration. They did offer us plastic ear plugs. We could not go without sleep another two nights because of the music, so we had to leave the hotel and walk away from $1,000 of our hard-earned dollars. I was hoping business leaders at Mill Creek would step up, but I was sorely disappointed. My recommendation is, DO NOT stay at Mill Creek, especially during a festival, but based on the way we were treated, we won't be back. Dear Mayor Krause, It is past 10 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024. My wife and I are guests at Mill Creek Hotel. We've spent part more than a half dozen summers in Lake Geneva and never have we had such a miserable experience. I'm all for a party, but not one in my hotel room without an invitation. The music from the Venetian Festival is so loud and the bass is driving so hard it's nearly rattling the widows. It clearly violates your city ordinance that says loud noise must stop by 9 pm. If I were to make this much noise anywhere else in the township, I would be fined, maybe arrested. I've spoken twice to the police department, and twice to the hotel management. According to the police department there is nothing that can be done because "they have approval" to play until midnight. I've also just now written the Jaycees to complain. I know it's just spitting in the wind to contact them or you, but as a law abiding citizen, I expect community leaders to lead. This is just obnoxious. I'm sure our few dollars won't be missed, but we are going to demand an early departure from the hotel and a refund. I've stayed at Mill Creek 3-4 times over the past several years and have always enjoyed my time there. I was there recently and unfortunately it needs much maintenance. The large tub with jets can't be used due to black mold or mildew residue on the jets. When the bottom tub faucet was turned on (mistakenly when attempting to turn on the shower) the water was orangish brown. There were 2 nickel/quarter sized holes in the wall under the toilet paper dispenser, and the kitchen faucet can't be moved--seems to be dry rotted in place. Overall the hotel appears to be in poor upkeep. There are new random decorations everywhere--plastic flowers which seemed weirdly out of place. Positives--The breakfast was good. I like that this is a smaller hotel and all the rooms are suites. It's so nice to have a separate living room area from the bedroom. We brought our baby and were able to keep him in the living room at night so we could watch tv in the bedroom. That said the sliding doors separating the living room from the bedroom is super loud! I would suggest installing actual doors instead. The bathroom was very nice with a large jacuzzi tub - very modern bathroom. The kitchenette had everything you need to cook inside or to store and reheat leftovers. The beds and linens were super comfy! The room was also able to get fairly dark (I need a dark room to sleep so this was important to me). Parking was easy and included with the stay. Staff is friendly. Breakfast was included - there was a good amount of options. The pool room is heated and was Luke warm which was nice. Although the pool is small there was no one in there the two times we went which was awesome!! I'd rather have a smaller pool with no people then a big pool with a lot of people. There is also a hot tub. My only suggestion for the pool area would be to have the longer chairs that you Can lay on in case someone just wants to read by the pool/ lay and watch their kids. We came in for a race they allowed us to check in at 1pm instead of 4 pm which is traditonal check In time . When we got there we warmly offered coffee and homemade chicken soup so already it was a notch above . Then we got to the room , unreal for the price . I live in chicago . You couldn't get that type of room for under 500.00 a night . Stunning view walking distance to everything . Breakfest included ... we just assume it's muffins and fruit .Not even close pancakes , bacon sausage ,home made burritos I felt like i was at. 5 star resort in Mexico . Have you ever been so excited to find a gift certificate and happy that you'll finally be able to enjoy the gift you were given? That is how I felt when I located mine. I was terribly disappointed when I found out they would no longer honor it because they put a one year time limit on using it. It wasn't like I was trying to go on a weekend. I asked if they'd honor it for a Wednesday. The manager, Mila (I believe her name was) was so rude and refused passing along my name and info to the "board" because she was on the board and it was already decided that they do not honor expired certificates. I was very disappointed with the Mill Creek Hotel. It is very run down. Don't ever go by the pictures you see online. It needs a major overhaul. The garage parking door is left open all night which I found a security issue. The front desk (if you can call it that) is a storage closet which all the doors are open so you can see everything. Not secured when I left my luggage all day. The hotel is run by a board of individual unit owners. Did not know that is the definition of a hotel. They tried to make it a romantic hotel by putting plastic roses and flowers all over including the bed. The place was clean and location was good. Free water, cookies and candy but way below my standards for that price. I tried to change to the Gran Geneva resort and Spa but they had a no refund policy. I booked a two-night stay months ago and paid the full amount (over $600) in advance. Unfortunately, just before we were scheduled to go, both my husband and I came down with Covid. We tried to cancel our reservation but were told by the owner that it was too late to cancel with a refund. She would not even give us credit for a future stay. Other less caring guests, not wanting to swallow the cost, might have gone and stayed at the hotel anyway, risking transmission of the virus to staff and other patrons. You would have thought that would have been a concern for the owner but clearly her only motive was money. Shame on her. Top notch! All the little extras and attention to detail made staying at this hotel a pleasure... From the free Starbucks coffee, tea or hot chocolate and the free daily soup and homemade chocolate chip cookies... candy bowls everywhere... when we entered our room we there was a welcome gift of bottled water, chips and candy... there is also bottled water at the front desk anytime you want some. I had booked our room on booking.com back in July 2021. I was given the name of this hotel by a colleague from where I work. She told me her and her husband had stayed there in the past and loved it and said it would be a great place to spend our honeymoon. I explicitly told the girl working the front desk at the hotel when I called to confirm the booking, that I needed a room close to the main entrance and did not want a room down any long hallway or upstairs due to me having some mobility issues. My wife and I got married on October 16th and we arrived at the hotel the very next day in the afternoon. The first thing that gave me a shudder as I turned into the parking garage in our Mazda 6 was that underneath the hotel where the parking garage is located, was seeing hundreds of spider webs and over a dozen various bird nests all spread out in the garage. I kept telling myself "Don't look up, don't look up" and also told my new wife the same thing. There were spiders on the ceiling, on the cement columns with webs draped all over the security cameras. The spider nests were all up inside the lighting fixtures as well as on the walls of the garage and also on the ground where the parking curbs are located and I found this to be very, very disturbing due to the lack of care. Once we loaded our luggage onto the handling carts, we got buzzed in and rode the elevator up to the lobby. We checked in and then were told by the General Manager who just happened to be there, that our room was not available, but that she had moved us much further down the hall and said to us "Oh, but I gave you a much larger room with a king size bed for the same price". The room that I had booked was the very same room with the same size bed that she moved us too. We looked at her with astonishment and I replied "Look, I booked the room right next to the front desk and I don't want to walk further than I need to due to my mobility issues". She just looked at me and said nothing. The front clerk apologized instead of her and handed us our key cards and we proceeded to our room. We got in and the first thing I noticed was a stain on the carpet. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi type bathtub. Now, what got me was all of the pictures from the hotel's website never showed the tub with the jacuzzi-type jet nozzles located in the bathroom. From the pictures, it looked the tub was in the middle of the room. Now the bathroom itself was very nice with a beautiful sink with Kohler fixturing the mirror had soft lighting. My wife wanted to take a bath and try the "jacuzzi". There were no roses in the bath tub as pictured from their marketing picture that had showed on their website. Not even a bottle of champagne either or a welcome basket congratulating us on our new marriage and for choosing their hotel to spend our honeymoon at. As the tub was filling up, I noticed black stains underneath the surface of the tub. I just shrugged my shoulders and went to go unpack. I then heard my wife cry out loud and I came hobbling back into the bathroom and to my horror, she got hit in the face with pieces of black chips that spewed out of the jet nozzles. As I was helping her step out of the tub, I also noticed black mold in the grout. The GM never told us why she had switched our room. Once we got dressed we went back to the front desk and complained about what happened. I told the front desk person and the GM who was still there that we wanted our money back. "This is not what I had paid for" I said. The GM just stared and said she couldn't give our money back due to the money goes into some sort of corporation, but that she would get us a new room instead. The stink of it all is that she didn't even apologize for what happened and for the inconvenience. From that Sunday (10-17) until Thursday (10-21), we were forced to take "sponge baths" from the bathroom sink. What was suppose to be a fun and amazing honeymoon was anything but and ruined "the mood". My wife bitched her out and just to shut my wife up, first offered a bottle of wine to quiet my wife down. The GM is an imposter and I'm not going to stop until we get all our money back. Now, let's talk about the very small bedroom with the king size bed. This was a total joke. The bed was absolutely the worst bed we've ever slept in. It felt like padding over a cement crypt. Their housekeeping also missed two empty pop cans left over from the last guest in the bedroom. Oh and get this, one of the the GM's selling points was " And we don't even charge an $18 resort fee like other places do" That's because Mill Creek isn't a resort but a very old hotel with rotting plumbing, stained carpeting, poorly paid help and an unkept, spider / bird nest infested parking garage. The GM's excuse was "Oh, I never noticed". Lastly, the hotel's key cards for getting in and out of the place was a joke! We had to get them re-programmed at least 2-3 times a day during our stay. read more

AWFUL! Overheard someone complaining about BED BUGS when I went back 2 days later after a $500 charge on my card. We typically stay in 25-30 hotels per year. 1st poor review I've ever left. Charged us $500 for smoking after we left. We don't smoke. Milah Hernandez Peterson, the owner, flat out called me a liar. See other reviews-she is a liar and attacks any unfavorable review. The Cove, right next door is cheaper and gorgeous! Tub was filthy, breakfast was convenience store food overlooking a patio filled with garbage and broken chairs. Walls were paper thin. Drank a bottle of water the fridge that I thought my husband left there and realized after drinking it, a small note saying "for humidifier only". absolutely disgusting. Hallways smelled, people smoking outside the property, arbor that was falling a part. Hard to believe this place is up to code for anything. To start when arriving to the room there were whiskers on the counter and not from me (gross) but maybe an oversight. So I mentioned it to the front dead and she said housekeeping is gone but she will go clean it while we were out to dinner. We got back and they are still there..... again not the end of the world. Accomodations were OK but I was charged almost $200 more than the agreed upon price (matching the price of a third party) with an employee. I received an email confirmation with the higher price and the employee said something must have gone wrong and she would correct. Upon check-in (later in evening), I was still charged the higher price, but no one was there to dispute. After the trip, I called the employee was very nice and apologetic. We then went round and round for over a month where she tried to correct. Finally, I talked with the owner who was obstinate and used every excuse in the book and refused to correct. Perfect spot in the heart of Lake Geneva. My husband and I have stayed at the Mill Creek 5 times. The location is perfect and parking and breakfast included. Our room has always been ready on time and clean. Staff has always been friendly and courteous. The chocolate chip cookies are my husbands favorite and the bottled water is appreciated. This hotel was really ideal for us--a family with young kids. The location couldn't be better....it is walking distance to the beach, boutiques, restaurants, and shops. Parking is included underground at the hotel. This worked out great because street parking must be paid for at street meters. When we went, 'Rock for Love' event had live bands playing all afternoon on a Saturday at the park across the street. With the balcony door closed, the room was well sound proofed to the guitars and singing. It was easy to catch a nap without being disturbed with the outside noise. With the balcony doors opened, you felt part of the festivities. The view from the balcony is one of the main streets in town so you feel the energetic vibe being in the center of it all. For the money, the accommodation was really spacious. Upon entering, both the kitchen and bathroom felt like it was made for wheelchair access. Again, is was ideal for a family with 2 young kids. It allowed for lots of play room and a separate bedroom for them to sleep and go to bed early while mommy and daddy enjoyed their vacation staying up later than 7:30pm. The shower head in the bathroom was one of those rain ones-- pleasant enough. The tub however was a jacuzzi....ick gross! Those are just filled with other people's pubic hair in those jets! The kitchen was well stocked with basic dishes, glasses, and pans to get you thru a weekend. Having a microwave, fridge/freezer, stovetop, and dishwasher were also bonuses! Dining room had 6 dining chairs and 4 bar stools-- we could entertain guests here...if we knew anyone here. Living room was equipped with a flat screen tv, fireplace, pullout sofa and 2nd a/c unit ( the other one was in the bedroom). Overall, pretty clean....but I could see that if this place does not get looked after it could quickly start falling apart. I like this smaller hotel for the location to everything in downtown Lake Geneva. Walkable to it all! It's an all suite hotel. The suites are equipped with kitchen and separate bedroom, TVs, fireplace and porch/balcony. There is covered parking and a lot, too. The hotel provides a small breakfast, has a nice indoor pool and fitness center. Our room (103) had a large newly renovated marble bathroom with jacuzzi tub. Robes are provided, too. Very nice! The room was so cold, though, as the outdoor porch door had bad weather stripping and gaps so the cold air came in. I chose not to say anything until we left so we wouldn't be bothered with a repair. We just stuffed towels in those areas. This really could be a great hotel if they keep up the renovations. The rooms and hall need updated carpeting, the rooms are way too plain. They need color and wall decorations to make it more desirable. The owners are almost there starting to improve! It's way too 70's. UPDATE: Received a disheartening and disappointing email from Roger (Board member for the Mill Creek). I had sent an email to the Board regarding our terrible experience. The email was shocking to say the least. It picked apart my entire complaint, essentially telling me that all of my concerns were unfounded and false. I think the following best captures the theme of the email: "...we apologize you encountered the alleged reported issues..." I mean really, what kind of apology is this! Also, the majority of my complaint resided with the inappropriate behavior of Juan, the housekeeping manager. How did the Board respond to this.... "- Juan (FrontDesk) was found to be more firm than expected, however not to the excessiveness that was reported, where his shift was encountering many checkouts a the time..." Talk about minimizing the severity of seriously inappropriate behavior! Again, a totally watered-down version of an apology. The worst part of the email was Roger's threatening tone when he referenced my on-line reviews of the Mill Creek: "...we also take seriously any/all alleged fraudelent actions/comments, as unfortunately there can be lasting effects to us on those. When found, we file a "confidential" report with our detailed findings to the various online travel forums, to rebute any alleged/false reporting, so making you aware, this incident and our findings, will be forwarded on, to the appropriate forums, that were impacted." So in a nutshell not only did I have a nightmarish experience, but I am being told that I am not allowed to share my honest, open review with fellow consumers! I have always been honest - whether a rant or a rave, I try to include specific details to help readers understand my rating. I've heard of Yelpers being contacted by unhappy businesses after critical reviews, but I never thought it would happen to me! On a final note, I have been told that there is a video tape and I have requested to review the tape with the Board. I loved the Mill Creek Hotel. My husband and I stayed there two nights immediately after our wedding, and it couldn't have been better. This was in late October, so I can only speak for that time of year. We got upgraded to a Gold room, but the great thing is that all the rooms are the same -- the only difference is the size of bed and the view. The rooms are hardly rooms -- they're more like small apartments. In fact, I believe they renovated condos to create this hotel. We loved the fireplace, the spacious balcony, the HUGE whirlpool tub (the bathroom was enormous) and having an actual kitchen to use. The rooms are not the lap of luxury, per se, but they are nicely appointed and very comfortable. It feels like staying in a nice apartment. The staff was helpful and pleasant, although we barely interacted with them. The pool is smallish, but serves its purpose, and the pool area and sun deck are quite nice. Best of all, you're about a block off Main Street Lake Geneva and a block from the lake -- right in the heart of it all. We didn't drive anywhere the whole weekend, just walked to the great shops and restaurants. I thought this was a really cute hotel, and I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Lake Geneva. First of all, the Mill Creek Hotel is in a great location. It's right in downtown Lake Geneva, just steps away from the main drag and the lake. There's also a little creek that runs alongside the hotel, which is cute. Before making our reservation at the Mill Creek Hotel, I read some reviews on Yelp and was a little worried that we'd get stuck with the dreaded Room 101, which is right next to the elevator and front desk. I decided to upgrade to a Silver room just to ensure that we wouldn't get Room 101. We ended up getting Room 203, which is on the second floor. I thought it was really nice! It had a kitchen area with a microwave, refrigerator, stove, sink and dishwasher. The cabinets were stocked with plates, cups, pots and pans, and silverware, so you don't have to bring your own. The kitchen had a peninsula with a seating area with four stools. There was also a four-person dining room set, a couch with coffee table, two comfy chairs, a large flat-screen TV and a fireplace. Our room had a small balcony. We didn't have a view of the lake or creek, but we did have a bit of a view of the town. The bathroom was a good size and had a large jacuzzi tub with shower. The bedroom was small but had a nice queen-size bed, closet, night stands, dresser and flat-screen TV. Overall, the room we had was pretty large (600-700 square feet) and was nicely kept and clean. We were able to park our car in Mill Creek's parking garage, which is below the hotel, and leave our car there the whole time since the hotel is so centrally located. The lady who checked us in was friendly and gave us dining suggestions. The man who checked us out was also friendly. I felt like the room rates for Saturday and Sunday nights in late August were very reasonable compared to the area's other lodging options. Pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a plain old hotel room. The pictures when I booked online looked clean so we thought we'd try it. Easy to find cute little place in the heart of down town. We parked the car and walked everywhere we needed to go for the weekend. The room was more than expected with a kitchen, fireplace, private balcony and jacuzzi tub. They decorated for Valentine's Day and had so many extravagant touches I felt like I was at an all inclusive somewhere. Someone at this place genuinely cares about their guests and it shows. They even left a sweet little welcome bag with water, brochures, pens, nail file, lotion and a note thanking us for choosing their hotel. read more

My boyfriend and I went on a spontaneous trip to Lake Geneva for his birthday in February. We heard great things about Mill Creek Hotel and the rooms looked beautiful. We both took a Friday off of work to have an extra day added to our weekend and drove to Wisconsin. We got to the hotel and we were soooo excited. Prior to arriving, I called the hotel at 11am to see if our room was clean to check in early. The young man on the phone said "Yes, your room is clean you can check in early." When we got there, we walked in the front doors and a woman looked at us as if we were lost. I said "Hello we are here to check in." From there, the ignorance began. This woman checked her imaginary watch on her wrist and said "Already, it's only 11am". WOW. No hello, no welcome, nothing. I then, with a bit of sass, said "Yes, I called." She then started getting attitude with her own employees right in front of us saying that they should not have approved us to check in early. I felt horrible for the young man who approved our early check in as this woman embarrassed him in front of customers. I come to find out they have more open rooms that are available, meaning that her nasty comments to the young man and myself never needed to be made and that she should have discussed this with her employee after getting us situated. After that got figured out, she gave us a parking pass. My boyfriend went out to put the parking pass in his car. In that time, this woman took it upon herself to come up to me and tell me "Your boyfriend smells like weed and that is a $500 fine if we smell it in your room." Um FIRST OF ALL, if you smelled that on HIM you need to talk to that person, not wait until he walks out of the room and sneakily tell his girlfriend. 2nd of all, my boyfriend and I take pride in ourselves and we hold our selves to a certain standard. My boyfriend is in the metal industry and I am a special education teacher. I felt so beyond disrespected it was sickening. Furthermore, 5 minutes prior to her making that statement, we signed off on a Marijuana Waiver saying that it was a federal offense and that if it is smelled or smoked in the hotel room we are to pay a $500 fee. WHICH WE SIGNED OFF ON. WHICH WE AGREED AND FULLY UNDERSTOOD AS WE ARE NOT IDIOTS. We get up to our room and I tell my boyfriend everything that just happened (because the woman was a chicken and couldn't face him herself). Needless to say it is now 11:30 and she has ruined the start of our trip. I then take it upon myself to call the front desk . The young man answers who I hope will understand my perspective. I tell him that I felt extremely uncomfortable and disrespected by that woman and I wanted to know her position in the hotel. Turns out she is the property owner. This young man - who can't be more than 24 years old - tells me that if I push the subject with the property owner she will call the police and that marijuana is a felony in Wisconsin. It was none of there business to say anything to us and had we ruined their hotel room then they could have used our signed paperwork as a way to contact police and fine us. If we ever go back to Lake Geneva again, we will absolutely NOT be staying at Mill Creek Hotel. read more
