Unfortunately, I have to report on a negative experience I had with Mill Valley Flowers. I called to order flowers for Mother's Day for my mom, who lives in Mill Valley. The first time I called, a week before Mother's Day, the woman on the phone said they were busy and she would call me back. She didn't call me back, so I called the next day. Again, they said they would call me back, but I had to call a third time to put in the order. At this point, I was frustrated, but I wanted to give them a chance. Come Mother's Day, they never delivered the flowers to my mom, despite charging me $95. I called the shop in the afternoon, and they said that they could not give me any details about my order, but that flowers were still being delivered. My mom's flowers never got delivered. I called the next day (today) and they told me they had written the address down wrong. Normally, I would be understanding about this, except that their prices were really high, they had both my cell phone number and my mom's cell phone number, and they could have called to double check on the address if there was any confusion. I honestly expected much better. And they were not very apologetic about their mistake. I've worked in customer service for many years, and If this were my business, I would have delivered the flowers for free. I am going to have to call them back just to make sure I get a refund. It's not a good feeling not to be able to treat your mom to something nice on Mother's Day from far away! I do not recommend this business read more

Mill Valley Flowers did my daughter's wedding in June 2022 and their service and arrangements were among the most beautiful I've ever seen. I can be picky with flowers too, so this is a high compliment. Pam worked primarily with my daughter on most of the design vision and colors for the flowers, and they met it perfectly. I worked with Pam on the payment things, contract, and day-of logistics. She was amazing to work with, had such attention to detail, and gave wonderful attention to us on the day of the wedding, even coming back closer to the ceremony to hand-deliver my daughter's bouquet to her since some of the flowers in it were sensitive to the heat and she wanted to keep it in their refrigerator as long as possible. She knew that some of the flowers my daughter wanted to use had a sentimental meaning and it was important to her in memorializing a recently deceased grandparent, so it was wonderful of her to be so understanding and accommodating. We used one of their arches at the ceremony and it was one of the most beautiful floral arrangements I've ever seen. Completely exceeded my expectations. Most of the flowers we brought home, and they lived for quite some time too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AND WILL DEFINATELY BE USING THEM AGAIN! read more

It has taken me almost a year to write this review, as I thought maybe I'd get over it. I haven't. I ordered my wedding flowers/bouquet from MV flowers. My husband grew up next door to the owner, his step mother highly recommended MV flowers. I spoke with Annabella over the phone, sent her photos of exactly what I wanted. I was very excited, it all sounded beautiful. I ordered 3 corsages/, only received 2 (my mother-the mother of the bride- didn't even get to wear one) I also ordered vines/tendrils for my alter. Never got those. The centerpieces were really small and extremely unmemorable. There was nothing exciting about them at all. Now lets talk about my bouquet. I specifically asked for mostly green plants with little flowers, done in a VERY LOOSE bouquet. "Dangly plants" were key words here. No tight/round davids bridal type bouquet. What I got was a very tight, ALL WHITE round bouquet with the most boring flowers I have ever seen. Now I know this may seem trivial, but my flowers were almost more important to me than my dress. I actually cried. I really don't know when I'll have another opportunity to walk down the aisle with a beautiful bouquet again. Bridesmaid doesn't count. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY disappointed, angry and so very sad at the end. She refunded me $300 for the missing flowers, nothing for my bouquet which was exactly what I DID NOT want, but that honestly does NOT make up for ANY of what happened. It was my wedding day. Come ON. I would give MV flowers negative stars if I was able. I really should have just done my own flowers. DO NOT hire MV Flowers for your wedding!!! read more

I'm not sure if this is representative of the business as a whole, but I stopped by the flower stand yesterday to pick up some daisies and the woman working at the stand was not friendly at all! At first I thought she might have been a customer based on the fact that she didn't acknowledge me at all. I guess I was expecting a warm greeting from such a cute streetside shop :( She was slightly redeemed in that she did wrap the flowers up with tissue and a nice ribbon.. However the prices are much higher than my go-to flower stand in the Castro :( I am getting married next door next year and I'm not sure I even want to inquire about wedding flowers after the initial encounter. The pluses: - Annabella is warm, friendly, and very enthusiastic about her work. - Flowers arrived on schedule for our wedding. - A florist was present to help coordinate flowers and to teach us how to hold bouquets, etc. - Arrangements were fresh, meticulously arranged, and beautiful. The minuses: - More than once during the planning process, Annabella got our order wrong. I had to correct her on names and quantities a couple times. In addition, my husband specifically requested a single flower instead of a boutonniere that he could stick through the hole of his lapel. An uncommon request sure, but one he felt strongly about. When I met with Annabella for the first time, she was resistant to the idea but eventually conceded. When she later emailed me the details, she had reverted to the boutonniere idea. I corrected her via email, and she confirmed. Unfortunately, on the wedding day my husband still ended up with the boutonniere he did not want and was disappointed. Did it ruin the wedding? No. Did it make it feel like our preferences were ignored? Certainly. - On a couple occasions, I felt like Annabella was trying to up-sell us on items. I know it's a business, and she's trying to make the most of it, but with no other vendor did I feel like I had to stand so firm with my preferences and budget. For example, I emailed her requesting a single flower for my hair (about $7.50 total, I think). She responded suggesting 5 flowers for $22.50. Nope, just wanted that single flower. Neither complaint is a deal breaker, and we still ended up with a beautiful wedding due in large part to the flowers. The end result was fine, but the process of getting there was less than ideal. read more

On a limited budget, and with a very casual feel to our wedding, Annabella never once made me feel bad for keeping things extremely simple (bridal bouquet only, table arrangements in mason jars)--she just tweaked the arrangements to fit everything I asked for---then completely blew us away on our wedding day! My bouquet and the table arrangements were just stunning, and had the "feel" that I was looking for. I completely agree with Patty M. that Annabella is just a gem, and was very caring and responsive, and over-delivered on the final product. Annabella is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, which is part of the reason why I chose her to do our wedding flowers. She had me meet with her at her home in Mill Valley for my consultation, which gave me a glimpse into how she works. She was very attentive and helpful, offering several suggestions on how to keep the costs down while still adhering to my vision and colors. Her personality and demeanor were so refreshing as well. She received a couple phone calls toward the end of our session, which was fine with me as we had been talking nonstop for nearly an hour, and the treatment of her clients sealed the deal for me. She really talked to them and listened, and didn't seem rushed or halfhearted. Annabella went out of her way for us as well, enabling us to get the bridal bouquet and groom's boutonniere early so that we could have them in our pre-wedding photo shoot, and then, at the wedding site, after she had done her part in setting up the centerpieces and such, she also decorated our bare cake for no extra charge (my mother-in-law may have prompted that). It made a huge difference and looked beautiful! I would definitely hire her again for an event, as she's a wonderful person to work with, has tons of experience and does beautiful work! read more

I had Mill Valley Flowers do the flowers for my wedding in 2016 and I could not have been more disappointed. The experience leading up to the wedding was great - we met in person to discuss in detail what I was looking for, and she seemed to really have it down. But on the day if my wedding I was roughly horrified. My bouquet, which I had specifically requested to be lose and flowing and not round, was perfectly round, not of the colors I had wanted, and somehow already looked smushed and wilting. The hair piece I requested somehow turned into a sad flower crown which looked similarly wilted and somewhat stingy - my hairdresser had to fix it at the last minute to get the look we wanted. The bridesmaids bouquets were tiny, and not the right color. The centerpieces were all wrong colors, totally wrong flowers, and even had some I had specifically requested not to have (green hydrangeas). Even the alter flowers looked really bad. Fortunately the woman who made my cake brought her own flowers off of my vision and did it perfectly- so I know I wasn't being confusing. When we asked what had happened, they explained that the flowers meant for my wedding had somehow gotten used for another event, and they truly were sorry. While what we ended up with looks fine to other guests, I knew what I had wanted and had spent extensive time explaining it, and what I ended up with continues to be the biggest disappointment of my wedding. The flowers were a really important component to me before the day of, and in pictures I didn't even want to carry my bouquet. It took me a long time to write this review because I had had such high hopes, and the people we worked with were really lovely... but they just really messed up. read more

We originally planned to DIY the flowers for our wedding but realized we didn't have time, so we hired Mill Valley Flowers very last minute (I believe 3 weeks before the wedding). They were just fabulous! I was a little nervous since their pictures on their website weren't what we were looking for at all (very monochromatic), but they were so excited to work on our flowers (lots and lots of all sorts of color), and they were just beautiful, could not have been more perfect. We sent them about 10 pictures from pinterest we liked and a sentence or two description ("Our colors are all the shades from yellow to red, with accents of various shades of blue, touches of purple, and gold. We want something that looks like wildflowers, but not rustic, wild elegance."), and they ran with it. I could not have imagined more perfect flowers. It was an explosion of colors, with a wildflower feel, and lots of different textures. They were just fabulous. They were also incredibly fresh. We took a vase of the flowers with us on our honeymoon (we drove), and they lasted all week! We got married last Sunday, and only today (the next Sunday) did the flowers hit time to toss them. She did my wedding flowers this past Labor Day weekend at my ceremony in Tiburon and the reception in Mill Valley. The flowers were absolutely BREATHTAKING!!! From the moment I first met with Annabella at her home, she took time to write down what my visions were, and she was able to show me a number of ideas from weddings she had done in the past. I ended up finding a the most beautiful bouquet I had ever seen from a magazine and brought it to Annabella a few weeks before the wedding. I kid you not- Annabella made my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets, the centerpieces, altar flowers MORE BEAUTIFUL than I could have EVER imagined- WAY better than that magazine picture but in the same colors!! She knew I wanted a loose, French- country garden sort of theme with mason jars and bright, happy flowers in oranges, magentas, etc... she added sweet peas, small blackberries, baby dahlia buds, for texture and sweetness. When I first saw the bouquets at the church, I literally covered my mouth and gasped in amazement- they were the most GORGEOUS arrangements I had ever laid eyes on- Annabella captured exactly what I was hoping for and went beyond my expectations. I saw Annabella briefly at the back of the church before the ceremony and hugged her- she nearly got tears in her eyes at my reaction and I know that she made all of the arrangements with a lot of love. All of our guests kept talking about how pretty our flowers were. Annabella is so gifted and caring and the type of person you want to surround yourself with to prepare for your special day. Have ordered my girlfriend flowers to be delivered to her home 3 times in the past two months. The smile and happiness that she expressed from receiving those flowers deserves a 5 star yelp review on its own. This place def isn't cheap and they charge 15 dollars each time to deliver to San Anselmo but the last arrangement has been blooming on the dining room table for the past week and half. They seemed very friendly over the phone when I place the order and so far have been able to fulfill the time slots i requested for delivery so for those reasons I am willing to pay the premium. So far so good as far as my experience with Mill Valley Flowers goes and I have every intention on continuing to use them for any flower delivers I need in Marin county. read more

Sorry to be the downer here but I've received a few arrangements from my husband who loves the convenience of ordering from this place but I'm often disappointed. This last bouquet was a somewhat pricey arrangement of lilac roses that started wilting almost immediately (within 1 day).
