Omg I can't say enough about this place it's so welcoming! The beers are crazy good and some I've never even tried! It's small and get this an old what I call factory whistle goes off at around 5ish it's crazy but if you go in ask and they'll explain it to you! The feeing you get it so back in the days of good neighbors and local friends/family. Popcorn machine which is delicious popcorn and craft beer umm yeah! It's small inside but there's also seating outside as well. I love this place! If you are driving through I highly recommend a stop ! read more

What a GREAT microbrew! I had the good fortune to visit here a couple of weeks ago while in Beaufort visiting some friends. What was supposed to be a single beer and then on to dinner, ended up being many beers and grabbing a bite after MWB closed. The Bella Bogue and the Queer Beer were exceptional as was the crew at MWB, in particular Lynne. This is probably the best craft beer brewery I have ever visited and my only complaint is that it is so far from where I live. I have been wanting to try this place for quite a while and I was finally able to stop by with their limited hours. It's tucked away down Lennoxville Rd in a warehouse building. They have retrofitted a small space complete with a mill theme and beer named with Carteret County drawl. While it is small, the space is done very well! They have apparel hanging for sale that actually looks good, the graphic work is nice. I'm giving them 3 stars because the bartender did not belong behind a bar, she did not know how to pour a beer every beer I saw had at least 1" or more head on the beers. It was obvious she had no idea because she then turned the CO2 off.... And... the beers need some work. The porter was the lightest I had seen, I actually thought she poured me the wrong beer, it tasted more of a brown ale. My husband and I tried a couple (after the head settled and we could drink out of the tiny tiny sample cups). I think they need to work on brewing because currently its on a homebrew level. I really want to see them succeed, a brewery is a great addition to Carteret County and I hope they can make it! read more

Absolutely the best brewery in Beaufort! Not only did they abide by all of the COVID and safety measures, they had the best customer service. Very friendly people, great beers, and warming atmosphere. They had LGBT+ posters and rainbow flags posted, which I thought was an amazing touch. Also they gave us a free tour of the place. 5/5 stars, definitely recommend! read more

I love Mill Whistle! The beer is great. The beer names and labels are even better. And the brewery tasting room is a great place to hang out. Free snacks (potato chips, etc) are a bonus. Grab a beer and a deck of Uno cards and have a good time. read more

This is a must go stop if you are a beer lover. Great selection of the their own beers and 6 taps of one of the other breweries in Beaufort. Sat outside at some communal tables had had a great conversation with people we met. Support this great brewery! read more

Mill Whistle is AMAZING!! I come here at least once a week--the beer is great, the service is amazing, and the vibe is on point. Good COVID-friendly outdoor seating and sometimes they'll open up the doors to the Mill Space which can also get good airflow. Best bar in Carteret County!! read more

I'm going to give this 5 stars for the atmosphere and the experience we had. There was a good noisy crowd on a Saturday afternoon, everyone was having a good time. We were welcomed in with our dog, the place is very small, but well done and attractive. Someone with an artistic flair is involved with the Mill Whistle because the graphics on the merchandise are excellent, the tap handles are very creative as are the signs on the wall designating the beers. I can't say the beers here are the stars, they were perfectly acceptable, the ipa I had was good, not great. The girl in the rum barrel stout was pretty good too. There are tubs of free snacks which was a nice touch. For me the stars of this place were the people there. It was such a friendly experience. We will return next weekend and see if this is the norm or the exception, but for now it's a big thumbs up. read more

I've been to a many brewery and this little place is something very special. It's small. It's local. It's got some damn good beer. They have a ton of swag to buy. The bartender was a lovely woman that we chatted with being the only patrons one night during the week. My husband will talk the ear off anyone so it was great that she was so friendly and open. She offered us snacks and non alcoholic drinks as well that they had plenty of. Apparently one of their best IPAs wasn't available (something toad? frog?) But the one we did have was delicious. I'm sad we don't live close by but next visit to the coast we will be back here. They also support the other breweries and recommend you visit those as well. We didn't have the time but I love the comraderie. read more

Great little find! Hidden away in a group of industrial looking garages, Mill Whistle is worth a visit. 8 taps at a time, single barrel brews. IPAs, wheats, reds, sours - you'll find something you like. We tried the Grateful sour (excellent, not overly sour) , the Indignant Frog IPA, Super Diva wheat, and Berries and Oranges. All very good! Great Nano Micro Brewery. Beers are crisp and clean. Served in glass and the beer has a good curtain. Each beer has a completely different taste. Greatest ipa on the coast. My compliments to the carpenter who built the bar and tables. Cool place. By the way who drinks beer without a head. No head beer is dead beer. Keep putting heads on that beer.
