This is my first week riding this shuttle. It has been reliable but as with all things "Caltrain"…read morehas a nonsensical schedule. I guess they changed the schedule first thing Monday, March the 2nd, the day I needed to start taking it. They have a 40 minute break period in between shuttle routes between 7:40am and 8:21am. No one wants to go to work then do they? Geez!! Caltrain!! I had to stop taking it months ago and now rely on the shuttle to get to BART. Fortunately, there is only that one break and the shuttle runs pretty regularly every other 15 mins intervals and the man who drives the bus is so kind and explains everything to you. Today he handed me a schedule and asked me to leave him a good review which I'm doing because people complain like it's his fault his supervisors mess with the schedule. Reliable, efficient, CLEAN, take it.

So, I'm grateful that Caltrain has this shuttle during commute hours on the weekdays. Especially…read morewhen I have to leave from work early because I'm not feeling well or some such thing. However, the afternoon driver is the MOST MISERABLE person to walk the face of the earth. I've come across homeless people who are more personable than he. He sneers when you board, he honks because the driver in front of him isn't going fast enough, he gestures because the driver on the other side of the road can't read his mind when he wants to turn left. He's always groaning or sighing, criminy. Sad thing is, he doesn't look like he's anywhere near retirement. I don't expect a Fantasy Island greeting but what the fuck, you're in a service industry pal. Get over yourself and enjoy your simple-ass job of driving a shuttle bus a whole 1.5 miles back and forth.

Saturday Morning at the Bart Station…read more After dropping off my grandkids for their flight to the East Coast, I decided to take BART home instead of calling a Lyft -- even though my daughter kept telling me I should just take one. I've ridden BART plenty of times before. Usually it's crowded, sometimes a little grimy, but it gets the job done. This time, though, I was honestly surprised. The SF International Airport station felt clean, organized, and surprisingly calm. Maybe was because it was Saturday? Who knows. Either way, the whole ride felt easy and peaceful -- a really nice way to head home after an emotional airport goodbye.

I love it that it's connected and accessible to both SFO and Oakland Airport as its last stop. While visiting SanFran the traffic can be terrible, and parking is hard to come by, when in areas but many stations are conveniently located near major streets and popular attractions. There are 3 major lines to transverse between NorCal area - yellow, red and blue. The BART is clean and most people respect and follows the rules of "no eating or drinking". I also like now each exits are cornered off in plexiglass....previously it was wide opened so you see a couple local people (mostly teenagers or young adults ) jumping over the turnstiles to avid paying the fares.

I've been having to use it a lot lately - if your worried about the who ha flu bring your N95 masks. I see that the most seasoned Bart riders have that along with some reading material. Bart trains can get crowded. Especially during rush hour at connecting trains. Maybe avoid that if you can but if you've got a direct route you might want to give it a try. I recently saw a very model type lady get on the train here. She was very well dressed and chose not to sit down although many many seats were open. She angled her body slightly into the wall against a metal vertical handbar jamming her shoulder - locked in place. She didn't touch anything. Thats classy. She was a pro at this Bart thing. I don't remember what kind of mask she wore but I was curious how she could balance so well with the unpredictable starting and stopping of the train. She was wearing very stylish but sensible shoes that I remember thing was aiding in her balancing act. IDk you might not want to bring the children. For one thing they will want to touch everything..... but it depends on your parenting technique. I've personally not witnessed anything much except some youngsters smoking between the cars which I think could make a great designated smoking section anyway.
