I was looking for ramen place in millburn and once across this place.. I arrived when they opened and I guess whoever was working was in the kitchen? Since it's my first time I was kind of confused as if they are open since the place was kind of dark. It always connected to the Japanese restaurant next door so I was not sure if I was in the right place. Anyway the lady walked out couple minute after and she let me sit wherever I want with my son, we ordered the classic tonkotsu ramen and pork chashu bao.. both are very tasty and they came out fairly quickly!! Terrible experience overall. We had long ticket times despite being the only customers in the restaurant during lunch. We ordered the duck bao buns, which were very bland, served without any sauce, and one even had a bone in it. We also ordered the pork belly ramen and seafood ramen, seafood ramen priced at $28 . Unfortunately, these were served in a way that felt unsanitary, with the waitress's thumb touching the plates and inside the bowls. It was very strange and honestly pretty gross. The seafood ramen included crab legs, but we were never offered a crab cracker, and the scallops were overcooked. The broth was decent, but nothing mind-blowing or worth the price. The seating was also uncomfortable. They use high armchairs that felt awkward and impractical. On top of everything, I couldn't get a receipt because they had run out of paper, and I later realized I was double charged for the meal. The one positive is that our waitress was very nice and polite, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to make up for the overall experience. We won't be coming back. read more

Super short review: I ordered takeout from here because I was having a tummy ache and needed some soup. The soup was extremely bland which I would've hated if my tummy wasn't hurting but honestly, it was perfect for what I needed. Pleasant surprise, we were walking around the downtown and stumbled across this place. It is relatively new and right on the Main Street of Millburn downtown. We ordered the vegetarian Ramen ( asked for extra spicy) and chicken katsu bowl with more sauce. Both the dishes were delicious and exactly what we wanted. Good flavors overall. Good food. I ordered takeout from here. I found this place in Yelp. Got Omurice, which I have been looking for a place that makes it. I also got gyoza and volcano noodles with fresh noodles. The price with tip came out around $60. It's a small place but looks spotless and nicely decorated. Parking can be challenging in the area since they do not have parking. The lady who was there spoke little English, but she understood what I was saying. I would recommend this place if you want a decent noodle place to try in the area. It's nice that there are multiple places to get Japanese food in Maplewood and Millburn. Omurice is good. I would go there, especially for that. 10 out of 10 out of 10!!!! Where should I start upon entering the restaurant the host greeted us. We were able to choose which table we wanted to sit. Our server brought us the menus and even gave us recommendations. It is small cute dining space perfect for date nights, and Solo. They also have outside dining. We opted to stay inside. Now let's get to the food: for appetizer, we had the spring rolls, and the BAO BAO they were very tasty and Packed with flavor. For the entrée, we each had different types of Ramen. They all taste amazing. Fun fact you can request to make your Raman spicy if you prefer the heat. My sister is a vegetarian so she got the vegetarian Ramen and the tofu was yummy! The server came to check in on us to make sure the food was up to our standards. I couldn't leave without trying the desserts, which was the snow ice bowl. It was delicious. Very pretty restaurant near Papermill Playhouse. Food was OK, service was lacking. Waitress took our order-duck bao buns, pork hot bowl curry, vegetable ramen with no scallions and a shrimp tempura ramen. She came back to check on what we ordered two minutes after she left the table, didn't see her again for 30 minutes. We were the only table seated for a long time. Bao was good. Hubby's pork bowl came made with chicken (not a big deal) and mine came with scallions, even though I'd asked for no onion. They were not generous with the vegetables at all in the vegetable ramen and the broth was a bit bland. The only sauce on the table was hot chili oil-no soy sauce or vinegar like places in the city. Before we were done, hubby asked for some extra curry sauce from the waitress because the dish was a bit dry. She said she guessed they could give him some extra. It never came. Another waitress finally came to check if we were done and pack up the leftovers. I mentioned that hubby had asked for extra sauce. We decided on no dessert so we paid the bill and left. Hubby mentioned that they charged $3.50 for the extra sauce! It would have been nice to have known that. Overall, not impressed and will not be back. read more

All the people below are lying because these pork buns are horrible. Ani Ramen js mid but their buns are a lot better than these. I looked at all the ratings and figured it would be yummy but it tastes horrible tastes like ground beef I can make squished between buns. read more

Had ramen a couple of times and it was not "authentic" but quite good. Went today and got appetizers and katsu bowls - really pretty awful. The rice was dry, the curry on the katsu was thin and flavorless and katsu itself was not hot or meaty. So perhaps just go for ramen only and ignore the lackluster service. read more

I'd ordered delivery from here once before and was surprised by how good my dish was so had been meaning to stop by in person and had the chance to recently with my son. First impression was how spacious and well-designed the interior was. It seems every piece was thoughtfully placed, from the number of tables to the decorations on the wall. Service was quick and attentive (though we were early so at the time we sat down we were the only ones in there). My son ordered the Kalbi ramen and I ordered the Tan Tan Ramen with the fresh noodles upgrade for $1. I liked how each item can be made spicy or non spicy which makes it easier to bring the kids since it opens up more of the menu for them. We also ordered seaweed salad and a side of fries. Overall, I was really impressed by just how good everything tasted as well as the portion sizes. My son devoured his kalbi ramen saying it was the best he's ever tasted (and we're Korean so he's had his share). We finished with strawberry flavored shaved ice which was really good as well. There are some very good ramen options in the area but I think this will be our go-to, especially for dine in. read more

We came here for luVery good ramen! Get the homemade noodles for sure. A great addition to the downtown area.
