Because of this, my mother felt comfortable ordering in Mandarin. However, when my mother politely asked the receptionist to repeat the order in Mandarin, the receptionist suddenly claimed she did not speak Mandarin and switched to very poor English instead. My mother was confused and had difficulty understanding her. Despite the communication issue, no other employee stepped in to help complete the order. The whole interaction left my mother feeling unwelcome and embarrassed. We understand that not every employee is required to speak Mandarin, but it was frustrating that no effort was made to assist her when there was clearly a language barrier. We have been customers for years and have enjoyed the restaurant in the past, but this experience was extremely disappointing and has left us with a negative impression. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
