I stumbled across Oscar when he dropped off his card on my front door. As soon as I grabbed it I called him and he happen to be on my street still. He walked right on over and help me look at my tree that needed removed and also gave me advice on the other two large trees on my property. He was very clear on what needed to be done and how he was going to do it. He's very professional and great to talk to. The price was very reasonable as well. A couple days later he stopped by with his crew and cut down the tree in less than a half of a day. His crew was excellent at what they did. I had a two-story tall tree that they carefully removed and cleaned up everything. I would gladly use them again and recommend them to anybody. One of the coolest things they did was cut my tree into a little table and chair set for me. My kids thought it was the coolest thing ever. This guy is probably all right if you just want to point and pay and do whatever he wants to do and don't mind paying more than you need to. He was nasty with me and said "I was too difficult to work with". Why? I wanted the quote broken down so I could choose what to do and how much I wanted to spend to do it. He was upset I had other quotes. Especially the one for the palm tree to remove it for $200 from Albert's Tree Service in Azusa. He was testy when I didn't want his grinding service and only cut the palm down and a yucca plant. He was upset that I might do some of the work myself. I asked him "how much to take away what I cut off the yucca and he quoted $200; To do everything was $800 and I didn't want to spend that much. So he leaves not happy. I am not happy at all to have had any contact with him. "Too hard to work with" to only cut down two large plants and haul it away. What a stupid thing to say to someone who is trying to hire you. Very immature and uncalled for. Take your time and give your money to someone who appreciates it enough to not feel insulted when you ask the questions you need answers to. That shouldn't be an I.Q. test for anyone. When I told other tree service's what Oscar said, they all laughed. My husband called them on a Monday morning to set up an appointment for a tree trimming estimate, Oscar answered the phone and took the initiative to set up the appointment for the same day in the evening. Oscar arrived around 5 PM, he was very friendly, outgoing and knew right away what needed to be done to all 8 trees and 3 palm trees. The price was really good and reasonable considering the quality of work performed. The crew consisted of 5 workers and Oscar himself (who was directing, supervising and doing the work). My yard was the neighborhood ugly spot until Oscar came and cleaned up my trees. One pepper tree was draped over my neighbor's side yard. People walking their dogs avoided my sidewalk because the trees looked like they could ensnare unwary travelers. That sort of thing. Needless to say, it was a big job but Oscar was flexible in accommodating my budget, though I ultimately picked him because I pegged him for a stand up guy. I got a cheaper quote elsewhere, but found that Oscar is well worth his asking price. When work started, his crew was ready at 8:30 am sharp. They worked professionally and efficiently through the day--I felt no need to keep tabs on them. Because some of the trees were so close together, Oscar came back a second day and ultimately trimmed two smaller trees that he did not charge me for. He seemed more intent on doing a good job than collecting a check. When they left, the yard and driveway was swept clean and you couldn't tell they'd been hauling tree branches all day. We asked if they were going to damamge the brick wall and he said that they would get bigger and damage the wall eventually. We appreciated his honesty and hired him to remove the trees. We had six large palm trees (two Queens and four Mexicans all 20-30 feet in height) in our front and back yards that we wanted removed. After getting numerous quotes from other companies, I called Millen. Oscar returned my phone call almost before I was done leaving my message requesting a quote! An appointment was arranged for that evening without a problem. Oscar arrived early and the quote given for the complete removal and stump grinding was more than fair. When asked when was the first availability to have the work done, Oscar replied that he would have a crew at our home the next morning. We only had one eucalyptus tree that we wanted to have removed from a slope. The tree was almost 30 feet tall. We called three other places to get an estimate.
