Three words: Jose. Is. Great. I'm on the board of a small non-profit performing arts ensemble in Chicago and every year we hold a benefit fundraiser that includes a silent auction, cocktails, snacks, and a performance. Every year that I've done this event, dealing with a caterer has been a mixed bag of emotions and disappointment. That is, until this year. Our event was smallish (110 people) but Jose gave us great advice and guidance on everything from the design of the room to the dishes we should order to make our event successful and cohesive while also satisfying as many differing tastes as possible. We went with passed and buffet-style appetizers and a bar package that included everything you could hope for in terms of booze. The food was delicious (and also beautifully presented), the drinks well-poured, and the look of the room from draping and up-lights to table linens and guest seating truly transformed the already cool gallery space into a beautiful, sophisticated event space. The staff on hand during the event were professional and efficient. All of this is great and we loved it but what set Millenium apart for me was working with Jose prior to the event. Easy-going, helpful, patient, and flexible. We had to adjust our numbers several times to accommodate last-minute reservations and he was incredibly nimble in both helping us adjust our orders and arranging for how to pay for these additions. And don't let me forget about one of the main factors that sells me on Millenium: AFFORDABILITY. For what we received, I was floored at how reasonable the prices were. It really allowed us to put on a very impressive event within a pretty tight budget. As other reviewers noted, we did a lot of business by text but I actually liked that very much as it might have been the mechanism that allowed him to be so flexible and it also made me feel like I could get in touch with him easily to resolve questions or issue I thought might need immediate attention. Our guests overwhelmingly loved the food (the meatballs were the big winner of the night!) and atmosphere which, in turn, paid off for us in our fundraising efforts. We'll definitely be back to Millenium for future events and I can't say this enough: you should too! read more

My husband and I had our wedding at the Portage Theater and reception at Michelle's Ballroom on March 11, 2012. We were worried about all the diy-such as the linens, set up, china rental etc.- and I can't tell how lucky we were to find Milenium Decorations. They are located in the same building as Michelle's-on the 2nd floor-and Jose is FANTASTIC!!! He held our hand throughout the entire experience and provided service above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined! Jose is so incredibly professional and patient! He and his staff set up the tables, linens, napkins, silverware, centerpieces, china, water pitches and glasses, table numbers, dinner stations, coffee service, gift table, cake table, AND cleaned everything up at the end of the night. Additionally, Jose managed dinner service and his waitstaff were outstanding. We were able to have the catering delivered, served, and cleaned up without worrying about anything. Jose was AWESOME. If you want to have a beautiful reception and truly a night to remember hire Jose and LISTEN to him. I could have saved myself so much worry by just letting go from the beginning and trusting my decision to hire this AMAZING man and his wonderful staff. We were referred to Jose at Millenium Decorations by Allen Nichols from Floating World Gallery where we held our wedding on February 13th. We originally just were going to have a single drape put up for our ceremony to create a divider between the other rooms at the gallery but we ended up choosing way more (of course, thanks to me). We ended up having Jose put up two drapes in front-one that was straight down and one that cascaded to the sides for some drama with two white uplights on each side, with that package also came 14 additional uplights for the backroom that we had in white as well. We ended up going with Millenium for gold chiavari chairs versus just white wooden chairs from Tablescapes since they were a little cheaper due to Jose already having them on hand and not having to pay higher rental and delivery fees. We added on 4 gold candelabras with LED lights and ivory rose balls on top to match our chairs for some decor during the ceremony and to go on the tables during the dinner, as well as an 8ft rolling bar that had black linen already attached. Everything looked amazing!! Jose is such a nice guy to work with and well priced for everything he can do, I highly recommend working with him! read more

My wedding was April 6, 2012. I was planning on doing the decorations myself, in order to save money. Met Jose Hernandez and just for the sake of seeing what his services were all about, we sat down with him and left the office reconsidering our decision. Jose is a very pleasant person, gives suggestions, but above all is not one of those pushy people trying to impose his services, which is one of the resons why I came back again and again, espcially looking for his opinions and advice. His services come in all different ranges, moreso to fit our budget. His services made the planning so much easier on us, since he was able to provide evreything we could possibly need for our special event. As the days got closer I relied on him for more of his services. I am very happy I had Milenium Decorations taking care of all my needs. When the day finally came, I could have not imagined a more beautiful wedding. It was perfect!! My family and friends raved about how beautiful everything was and how attentive all the staff was. Millenium Decorations & Catering provided rental and bartending services for our preschool's annual gala and live auction event on February 7, 2015. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jose and his team!! I worked with Jose for around 6 months before the event. He was so patient and thorough, despite my many questions and changes. I was blown away by Jose and his staff the night of the event. We had a tricky set-up situation which involved a couple of room changes. From the very minute Jose was there, he had everything under control. He even pre-made our "specialty" cocktails and kept up with demand. I had volunteers willing to help....but no need, Jose had it taken care of! He was very prompt and efficient with set-up and clean-up, and we never had to worry where are tables were, if the bars were set up, how things were coming along, etc. I could go on and on and on! We had our wedding on March 7th 2014 at Michelle's Ballroom. We contracted Millenium Decorations for our special day. They provided the decorations and the food for our wedding. Jose and his team were true professionals in every sense of the word. The decorations were exactly what we wanted and the hall was set up beautifully. They took care of everything we wanted and more. They went above and beyond. The food was excellent!!! People were lining up for seconds. Some of our guest had 3 plates. Jose and his staff took very good care of us and our guest. We did not have a single issue. Everything was perfect. They even packed up our left over cake and sweets from our sweet table and even packed up the left over party favors. Jose and his staff even stayed after the wedding was over to clean up the hall so we didn't have to lift a finger. I will definitely be calling Jose and Millenium decorations for my next party. Jose at Millenium decorators was indeed one of the best vendors we hired for our August 2015 Chicago wedding. He is organized, experienced, informative, professional and accommodating. He carried out all of our requests for the wedding and made sure everything ran smoothly. The decorations he provided looked great. He stayed calm throughout the event and didn't panic even when the caterer was running behind. Instead, he took control of the situation and guests had no idea that there was a delay. Importantly, he is very affordable compared to other similar services in the area. In addition to decorations, dishes, utensils and staff, he provided our wedding cake and we thought the value was great. My husband and I highly recommend him. My only criticism is that it could be difficult to get a hold of him over the phone and even via text messages, he takes some time to respond. For me, that was unsettling, but despite this, everything went well the day of the wedding. read more

We worked with Jose and team and were delighted with his service. We had Jose provide a pipe and drape and uplighting for Floating World Gallery. We also used Jose for Ceremony rentals, chairs etc, and for reception rentals, chairs, tables, centerpieces, all dining utensils, catering equipment (as our caterer did not have these items), bartenders, servers, cleaning crew. His prices are very fair and significantly lower than some of the other vendors and rentals we looked at. Jose is very thorough and gives you all the details and itemizes all costs when making your wedding decisions, he is consultative and is always educating. My name is Ciera Scott, Our Wedding was August 4, 2013 at Michelle's Ballroom and Millenium Decorations was our decorator. Myself, my husband and our guest were very pleased with the decoration that millennium provided! We had uplighting, back drops, and over twenty tables that were beautifully decorated! The staff were very pleasant and helpful and they had their jobs done on time which made things very easy for the other vendors and our guest. I would definitely recommend millennium decorations to any of my friends and family because they offer a very reasonable rate and have excellent customer service. Wedding : June 27th 2015 I can't say enough great things about this team!! People have commented that they have never seen a wedding run as smooth as mine did and that was all thanks to Millenium! We hired the Millennium team to staff, decorate and provide all the rentals for our wedding. They were not only easy to work with but you can tell this is their passion. They treated my wedding like it was the only event they had even though they are very busy. We had 2 change overs because of the location and everything was so smooth I could not believe it. I was a guest of Lidia and Victor's wedding on Saturday Aprill 9th and it was a pleasant time to be there. The banquet hall was looking amazing because it was beautifly decorated, neat and very organized. I've been to many parties and there's always a moment where cahos occurs but this one was the exception. It was well handeled at all times and the decoration materials were good quality. José with Mienium Decorations was a pleasure to work with for our wedding reception. He provided all the linens and tableware and also arranged the catering. The hall looked beautiful and we received numerous compliments on the food. After being invited to MULTIPLE food tastings, we decided to do a Mexican buffet and were able to get an unbelievable amount of food at a very affordable price. José and his staff were consistently professional, courteous, and what I appreciated the most, accommodating. I can never seem to make up my mind about anything and José was always open to suggestions and more than willing to make any changes. We used Millenium Decorations for our wedding at Floating World Gallery (they came recommended from Allen at FWG). Specifically, we used them for a drape backdrop during our ceremony and lighting during the reception. It was absolutely beautiful! We had a double layered white curtain with purple uplights. It was the perfect addition and set the stage for a beautiful ceremony. Diego was great to work with and it was super easy to get the order confirmed. We had a good amount of last minute changes with our wedding and Millenium was able to make it a smooth processes for me. On the day of, Eril (our team leader for the day) was incredible. He was anticipating my needs before I even had to ask and went above and beyond to make sure things ran smoothly for our guests. There was a clear knowledge of the venue space (Floating World Gallery on Halsted) as they needed little to know direction from me when it came to clean up.
