The owners are super nice and genuinely helpful, and the whole place feels welcoming the second you walk in. The book selection is also really solid. I always end up finding something (often have to reign myself in), especially in the thriller section, but they also have classics mixed in, too, which I love. One of my favorite parts is that you can actually sit and read while having a glass of wine. The wine selection is really fun, and they have some unique varietals that you don't see everywhere, which makes it even better. I also love that they do book and wine pairings each month. It's such a cool idea and makes it feel like there's always something new to check out. You can also join their book club, which includes a new book and a paired bottle of wine. Also, you need one of their bags. Trust me. If you love books and want a cozy little place to hang out, I definitely recommend stopping in.

I liked how it was a safe haven but differentiated from a library and more upscale

The cappuccino was good, the biscuit was too, but the real selling point of this place is sitting outdoors on a sunny day. Hallelujah. The good: Their vanilla latte is genuinely good. Flavorful, balanced, and not overly sweet. The food is decent too. The bad: Why is a vanilla latte pushing $7 these days and still arriving nowhere near the top of the cup? When I asked about it, I was told it's just one ice cube short of the normal volume. But consistently? Maybe that's what they mean by Ain't Normal. My bigger issue is the service. Maybe I've caught them on off days, but the staff has consistently come off with a bit of attitude. Nobody needs a parade when they order coffee, but a little warmth goes a long way, especially when you're charging specialty coffee prices. At the end of the day, the coffee is good enough that I've come back more than once. I just wish the cups were fuller and the customer service matched the quality of the drinks.

We ended up being there for over 2 hours total even though we ordered quickly once given the menus. We were given some wine tastings before we ordered drinks which was nice but once we finished our first glass they never checked in if we wanted another drink. We had the arancini appetizer and a couple of pastas and the food was pretty good. The waitresses were sweet, but based off the overall service I would not recommend.

We were sat quickly and by the time the appetizers came out, it all made sense. The cheese plate was so bare I was shocked. Then the gem salad came out and it was so sad looking I almost chortled when she placed it on the table. The broccolini pasta was super bitter -- way more bitter than it should be. Also for some reason the olive oil tastes rancid. They did offer free bread that I saw them cutting from what looked like a baguette bought from Safeway. We also got the pasta ragu. The pasta itself was aldente but the sauce did not have much depth of flavor. Really seemed like something I could make at home. Decor was bare. Lots of seating though. I would recommend this place if you're wanting a cozy quiet dining experience.

Positives: The food was very good, as was the attentive service. And they accept plastic payment…read more Instead of tipping, they add a 20% surcharge to cover both the front and rear of the house. Negatives: Very small venue, so reservations are a must. The menu is always in a state of flux, much of it in French (none of us are fluent), and only one lager beer on tap. On the spendy side of the spectrum. Editorial comments: First time visit, so I didn't really know what to expect, although I've had my share of trendy little restaurants. Upon arriving at the outdoor podium to check in, a young man in a paint spattered T-shirt greeted us and showed us our table. I wasn't expecting formal dinner wear, but is there such a thing as too casual? However, the food and service didn't disappoint. I don't eat mollusks or raw shellfish, but my catfish was excellent. The beer was OK. I would suggest reading the current menu prior to arriving if possible, so the ordering process isn't needlessly drawn out. Have your questions on the tips of your tongues, unless you're a regular who is familiar. Not in the greatest neighborhood, parking can be a challenge. We chose to take Lyft to and from, which turned out to be a good choice. Small. Bohemian. Uber casual-chic. Bring sun screen and a hat if you're seated outside. Background music was good, classic rock without rap or hip hop influences. Worried about being under-dressed? Don't be. You'll fit right in, and may be offered a job!

I understand that a new employee may have made a mistake, but once the situation was brought to your attention, there was still no attempt to find a solution. That's why this response feels more like an explanation than a resolution. If you knew the information we were given was incorrect, I would have expected some effort to make things right rather than simply asking us to wait longer. We were genuinely excited to dine at your restaurant, which is why the experience was so disappointing.
