Made an appointment over two weeks in advance and put in the notes I was having new wheels and tires installed along with an oil change. I showed up on time at 11am, handed the service counter my keys, and went to the waiting area. Over three hours pass without any communication, and then the customer rep comes out and tells me they can't get my wheels to fit, and that I need new center rings and lugs, but that they didn't have any in stock, and that they couldn't source them. What kind of service technician (of 30 years apparently) starts a job without checking fitment first? This is a Subaru Outback mind you, at a Subaru dealership, and they can't get the parts? He apologized and said they were putting my old tires back on and they'd be done shortly. That shortly lasted another hour before he came to tell me one of my tires was being "finicky", he apologized again and said they were almost done. 20 minutes later he finally comes to get me, and in the end I paid over $400 for tires I can't use. But they did give me a free car wash at Kwiktrip! Ooooo They charged me for an incomplete job, wasted my time and money, and now I have to get the work done somewhere else. Never again will I visit this dealership. Horrible service and terrible work ethic. read more

They replaced my alternator and six months later it died. I took it to Tires Plus to replace it because Subaru would take 2 weeks to even get it in the shop. Apparently there was a warranty on the original part, but Subaru wouldn't process it because they said it was an O'Reilly's part and Subaru wasn't the one who deemed it a failure. I brought my 2019 Impreza in for a oil change and I told the service representative that I was hearing brake noise and I asked it they could check the brakes. She said they would do it with a tire rotation. I said I just had the tires rotated there on my last oil change. They couldn't help me . That's nice brakes are a safety concern, they could have helped me in this regard. I took my keys back and said that I would go somewhere else. I have been a regular customer there but no more. I just recently just was at the Miller hill Subaru location in Duluth Minnesota. I walked in wanting to test drive a wrx (I recently test drove a vw gti and wanted to see the differences.) I was talking to the the salesman named Ron and told him that I wanted to test drive a wrx. He stated that "In order to test drive the vehicle you need to go through the finance department first. Otherwise the new vehicles would have thousands of miles on them." First of all, I sold Ford's and you do not need to go through finance to test drive a vehicle. Second, I was not even asked if I wanted to go through with it or even to take look at the vehicle. Basically in my eyes he stated, "you can't afford this vehicle leave." I felt so embarrassed I left the building without even looking at them. I don't want anyone else to feel this embarrassment. DONT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. read more

I bought a 2013 Chevy Equinox exactly one year ago...I'm already almost $2000 into repairs and now I'm told the timing chain could go anytime...when I was told about some issues by Valvoline four months after I bought it, I took it in and showed them the list of issues. There are no good reviews, trust them and stay away. Their prices are high, the service is cheap, and their cars aren't worth the time of day. Go to the cities, it might be a little far but believe me, and all the reviews, you will regret going here. As far as sales departments go they are fine. 3/5 stars for sales. But service here is 1/5 stars. They are just plain rude. They give snarky remarks and act like you're inconveniencing them when you ask a question about the work done. Not only that. But if you're a female and come in, they will try and put one past you and charge you for stuff you didn't need done or shouldn't be paying for because of warranty. I own two Subaru's and actually started driving both my cars to white bear lake Subaru for service because they are so much more friendly and reliable. read more

If I could provide zero star rating I would, but Google only allows for one. I've had my car serviced here many times and every subsequent encounter is worse than the next. When I had my radio replaced here, it took them over a week just to order it. I called multiple times to check on the status of my car being fixed, and they told me that they hadn't even ordered the replacement parts yet. I have spoke with the service managers, the assistant managers, as well as the owner himself. This whole establishment is a joke. They do not care about their people, as well as customers and I have even been told by those who work here not to purchase a vehicle here. If you care about customer service quality as well as on time work being done, please go elsewhere. I will be bringing my vehicle to the dealership where I purchased it and just to avoid walking into this establishment of which is 2 hours away. My most Recent problem with this place was to wake up on Monday and half my appointment for Tuesday canceled for no apparent reason. I only found out about the cancellation after listening to the voicemail that they had left me and I find it highly unprofessional inappropriate and damn near unexplainable as to why they would cancel appointment with no rhyme or reason as to why they did so. I went to the Miller Hill Subaru dealer today to look at a Forester. When I asked the receptionist where they were located she told me there was one on the showroom floor, I went over and looked at the vehicle, sat in it and such at no time did a salesmen come over so I could ask questions on the vehicle. If I could give a negative star rating I would give a -5 stars. I purchases a 2006 Subaru Outback for retail value after the dealership had replaced the head gaskets (common issue) and exhaust oxygen sensor. I bought the car and after 2 weeks the low oil light comes on while I'm driving. I stop at the closest gas station and the car needs 4 qts of oil?! I call the dealership immediately and they have me drop it off. They can't find anything wrong with the car...no oil in my garage and the engine compartment is completely clean (wasn't charged for this service spot). 1 week after leaving the dealership again the same thing happens again with the oil light. Again the car goes into the dealership. This time the maintenance dept says the intake valves maybe sticking open (apparently a common issue) so the engine is cleaned out for a week in the shop (again not charged but the work should be under warranty). I leave the dealership with the car again (now owning the car for a month and it's been in the shop half this time of ownership) and the problem should be fixed now. After 2 weeks of driving the vehicle and diligently checking the oil levels it's still burning out. Best part, I go back to the dealership and tell them I want to trade the car in because I need something reliable with two young kids. They offer me trade in value after all of my problems. Seriously?! They offer me full retail value if I buy a brand new car from them?! I ask to get a military discount because Subaru offers one and the dealership refuses to honor it saying "we're losing money on this deal". Never again will I deal with this dealership. Worst dealership experience I've ever had! My Dad and I visited this dealership last weekend. He was looking to purchase a truck just over $18,000 in cash/check. They were very firm on the price and wouldn't budge taking $300 off the price. We were thinking it over, outside in their parking lot, and discussing the purchase. We noticed that our salesman took off and left the property in his red Corvette​. We thought that was weird since he was going to sell us the truck. We went to go inside the salesroom to buy the truck, and the doors were locked! They already closed and didn't warn us that they were leaving right at 5PM! It would've been nice if they gave us a warning that they were closing soon, it was so disrespectful​! It was obvious they didn't care about our business. Since we were so disgusted, we decided not to give them our business. We gave our $18,000 cash purchase to another dealership. And the deal we got was way better anyways! Will never, ever, come here again! And neither will any of our friends or family! read more

We moved to Duluth in 1998. We have gone to this dealership this then. We own a business and have 3 business vehicles. We have bought numerous brand new vehicles here and have all our service done here. Over the last couple years this place has gone down hill rapidly. From poor service to rude customer service. I've always had great service with Miller Hill Subaru, and I've been going there for years. They've always been courteous to me in both service and sales. I live about 125 miles away from them and I have been taken in for service on very short notice. I don't know why some folks gave poor recommendations. I have never been treated so poorly by a business in my life. The Service Department is filled with some of the most rude people I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I received a recall notice in the mail and tried to schedule a service date. I was told it would be 4 months before they could get it in. The recall notice said not to drive the car until it was fixed. When I brought this to the service dept. employees attention, she said there was nothing she could do. I called Subaru of America to ask about liability and they promptly scheduled me for service at, wait for it, Miller Hill Subaru! So I brought it in, they told me they didn't like doing this recall work because it was difficult. When I came back to pick up my car, the dash board, which needed to be removed for the work, was not put back on correctly. Miller Hill told me they tried but it is difficult and rescheduled me to have it put back together correctly. I brought it back and they broke off parts and said that was the way I brought it in. Another call to Subaru of America. Brought it back to get the parts they broke replaced, oops they hadn't arrived yet. BTW,I live 70 miles away.Scheduled another appointment. 4th time was the charm. Everything put back together correctly and almost all the parts they broke were replaced. I was tired of dealing with them by this point, so I left and fixed the other broken parts myself. My advice, go anywhere else but this place. read more

I posted my review earlier and it's not viewable for some reason. Either way I have and update. We bought a used vehicle from MHS and it faltered within a day with signs of a potentially blown head gasket. I found them responsive, and they went the extra mile at every turn to make sure that we had not bought a vehicle... even a used one that had a serious issue. This is more than I can say for another dealership down the road that several years ago sold us a van where it blew a head gasket within a week and refused to do anything about it. No so here. Because it was right away, and not bound by law or obligated they took it in, and checked it out. I was not clear what the issue was so we took it drove it, and then it started overheating. They AGAIN took it back and fixed the issue. We had the experience of them going the extra mile for us and want to communicate that we disagree more with the lower reviews. They were recommended by friends and we will definitely be back there. read more

They might be a fine car dealership, but never bring your vehicle here to be repaired. They'll repair things without asking and charge you way more then ever expected. Because "They could have sworn that's what you asked for" It's not worth it. There are many other reliable mechanics in Duluth who will not do this. Do not trust them.
