She wanted me to scan his ear for temperature, id tag, and to show her his teeth. They charge $300+ for a wellness check but don't check his glands, ears, or mouth themselves. What did I pay for an exam for? My dog had a growth the size of a dime on him and they wanted to charge me $5k to remove, after she did not touch it, see what or if it was filled with liquid, or offer any other kind of treatment. Also, they want to perform surgery to remove it but didn't even tell me it should be sent in for a biopsy. What is with that? I recommend everyone stay far away from this facility. They charge $93.00/shot and the next day after leaving sent me an email saying he needs three more shots??????????????????? Do they know what they are doing there? I seriously doubt it.

Now that I've gone public about the high cost, they want to talk. Take that for what it is. We were told they would be agreeable to an installment financing plan IF we also purchased a wellness plan at $118 monthly. So they want that extra money just so we can pay in installments, with interest to boot? See why I say they soak people? Update: we took our cat to UC Davis vet school. They found our cat also has a heart murmur that would surely kill her in surgery if special precaution are not taken. Monte Vista completely missed this critical issue. So glad we didn't use their services. Don't go her...please.

JUSTICE FOR BABY! VIRK lied about cancer, killed my dog…read morewithout permission. Necropsy proves it! On March 3, 2025, I brought my dog, Baby, to Alpine Hospital because she was unable to urinate and had a full bladder. Dr. Virk examined her and without presenting any diagnostic evidence, insisted that she had a tumor. He told me the tumor he seen on the x-ray was the size of a grapefruit. He said it could be cancer or pyometria but wouldn't know until he got in there to see. Despite my clear instructions not to proceed with euthanasia even if it was cancer, he euthanized her without my consent and without notifying me afterwards. I told him I wanted a second opinion and we were going to do a home euthanasia. He told me approximately six times to say goodbye to her and I refused because even if it was cancer, I was going to pick her back up.. I also have a video of me in the office talking to him I felt so uneasy with how many times he insisted to say goodbye. I have a video telling her I was picking her back up, I promised her. Before he walked out the office he told me "her surgery is tomorrow, if it is bad I'll let you know and we'll make a decision on the table." He knew the answer would have still been NO! I never signed any papers agreeing to euthanasia. Virk didn't even call me to ask and he didn't even call me to tell me she was gone. He offered a free cremation and I refused because that drew a red flag. I picked her body up and A necropsy was performed by a specialist, a very known and respected Doctor, Dr Evans. The results confirmed that Baby did NOT HAVE CANCER. Additionally, her X-rays showed NO tumors, and her bloodwork was normal. Dr. Virk never showed me these results prior to the procedure. Instead, he repeatedly pressured me to euthanize her, falsely claiming that she had a tumor. When she only had an enlarged bladder from not urinating. He even insisted that I take her home that night to say goodbye to her before the procedure, despite my explicit instructions. I left her because I was picking her up REGARDLESS. it wasn't goodbye. Furthermore, Dr. Virk attempted to spay Baby without my consent and left the procedure unfinished. The necropsy revealed a 1-inch hole in her bladder with 3 inches of stitches under it from his work. Which was never in his notes of his findings after surgery nor was ever mentioned to me when I called and demanded answers. There is no explanation for why he would begin an unauthorized spay procedure on a dog that was brought in for urinary issues. Adding to the severity of this case, Dr. Virk falsified medical records by documenting that I agreed to euthanasia, which I absolutely did not. Multiple people, including myself, explicitly told him that if cancer was suspected, he should close her up so we could seek a second opinion before considering euthanasia. He ignored these instructions. After Baby's death, Dr. Virk attempted to shift blame onto me, stating that her condition was due to "neglect" because she hadn't urinated for two days--the very reason I brought her in for urgent medical care. His failure to diagnose and treat her appropriately, his unauthorized medical procedures, and his ultimate decision to euthanize her without consent amount to serious misconduct. I just recently rescued Baby a few weeks ago, as I'm crying on the phone with VIRK demanding answers after I found out he euthanized her, Dr VIRK said "didn't you just rescue her 3 weeks ago?". I'm sorry WHAT!? What does that matter!? That was my baby! I am already requesting a formal investigation into Dr. Virk's conduct and appropriate disciplinary action, including revocation of his veterinary license. I'm taking Legal action and pressing charges. This was not an isolated mistake; it was a deliberate act of medical malpractice, deception, and unauthorized euthanasia. I have supporting evidence, including: * Necropsy report and live video confirming no cancer and unfinished spay attempt. * X-rays and bloodwork showing no tumor or signs of cancer. * Medical records falsely stating that I consented to euthanasia and she in fact never had a tumor. * Witnesses to explicit instructions not to euthanize regardless. * Voicemail from Dr VIRK letting me know she was gone due to bladder cancer that spread. And much more. MANY falsified records from both Alpine and jelly's place. Dr. Virk's actions were unethical, unlawful, and deeply traumatizing. I trusted this hospital with my dogs life, and instead, my dog was wrongfully killed under his care. I urge the Veterinary Medical Board to hold him accountable and prevent him from harming other animals and pet owners.

But my husband and I both needed to travel at the last minute and Vet Tech Pet Care came very highly recommended by a friend's friend who has been using them for years. We weren't quite sure how it would work at first and who would be assigned to stop in 2x/day. But Tomiko was great about matching cat lovers on her staff with the days we needed coverage. Alexa was our cats' "main" sitter but Kaitlin also stopped by a couple of times when Alexa wasn't available. We had the opportunity meet both Alexa and Kaitlin in person before we departed, and Tomiko also came by to make sure everything would run smoothly in our absence. I am pretty organized and had typed up instructions already for Alexa and Kaitlin, but Tomiko had a very detailed checklist that she also went through with me to make sure nothing was overlooked. I really appreciated that. We got texts with pictures and updates on our cats at every visit, which we also really appreciated. Our cats are very shy and skittish with strangers, so we got to hear how they were warming up to Alexa and Kaitlin at each visit. That was such a comfort to us! We would use Vet Tech Pet Care again in the future without hesitation and highly recommend them to others! While they are a service with many different petsitters working for them, it felt very personal and customized to our senior cats' specific needs.

I had called ahead and they were able to make an appointment for him right away to save the extra cost of an emergency walk in, my cat was seen immediately and I was able to be in the exam room with him, the staff were knowledgeable and kind and took great care of my fur baby my first visit. It wasn't busy there at all, I returned to pick up additional medications for him and again it was easy in an out, not terribly busy. They lost some starts only due to a particular tech that cared for him during his in patient stay yesterday to receive IV fluids and (I thought) tube feeding and anesthesia. HE DID NOT RECEIVE THE TUBE FEEDING OR ANESTHESIA. I discovered this on picking him up at closing time, he was also soiled with diarrhea that was already dried into his fur at time of pick up, I had called to check on him and was waiting at the clinic an hour before pickup and the diarrhea was only mentioned as she brought him out. The techs name is Andrea who was so neglectful, I was deeply concerned by her demeanor upon meeting her but didn't think much of it, she had just begun her shift and seemed more concerned with eating a yogurt and then going outside to take a break within an hour of her shift beginning than the care of my cat. She wasn't informed about his case when I had questions about his condition and care plan and didn't seem to much care about him aside from whether she had maybe seen him before and if she would recognize him. More importantly she was the tech I was communicating with regarding my cats care and was the one I told directly that I would like to go ahead with the feeding tube and anesthesia. I was charged and extra $575 for these things(returned in credit on his account when I realized this hadn't happened) she had said only "no one told me he was getting that" but I was the one who told her to her face i witnessed her passing this along to the receptionist who added the charges to the payment and then the tech, Andrea, immediately went outside to her car for a ten minute break. Maybe she forgot but that is unacceptable. I was very disappointed he didn't receive the feeding tube, and also very disappointed he was returned to me COVERED IN DIARRHEA he had clearly been sitting in for hours, I was also disappointed that even if they weren't going to clean it they couldn't have given me a heads up about that so I could buy pet shampoo or wipes before pick up given all the time I spent waiting at the vet and the calls to check on him there was plenty opportunity to inform me of this. Nevermind it is poor practice for a clinic to allow a cat to sit in their mess for hours this can cause infection and additional distress. As I understand it it is common practice for a vet to clean an animal that has made a mess in their care before returning them to their owner. I will be speaking with management about this particular vet tech, I had called to talk with them but was told they are traveling and will get back to me... otherwise the care was great and affordable from Lone Tree, however I am left feeling very concerned about the incompetence and general disregard from vet tech Andrea.

I called the morning of my visit (around 9:00 a.m.) and was scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. appointment for my dog's vaccinations and a nail trim. I arrived on time, was put into a room, spoke to an assistant about my dog needs and waited nearly 50 minutes without ever being seen by a vet, During that entire time, no one communicated that there was a delay or provided any kind of update. I finally had to approach the front desk myself, only to be told that I would need to reschedule. This was especially frustrating since I had specifically set aside time in the middle of a busy workday for this appointment. Had I been informed of the delay, I could have made an informed decision instead of wasting my time. What's even more concerning is what happened after. I requested to be contacted directly by a manager or owner to discuss the situation and determine whether I could confidently return. I also followed up in writing. I never received a call, email, or any acknowledgment whatsoever. The lack of communication during the visit was unacceptable. The complete lack of accountability afterward is even worse. For a first-time client, this experience felt disorganized, unprofessional, and dismissive of both my time and my pet's care. I would strongly caution others to consider this before booking an appointment here.

The compassion of the Vet and RVN cannot be beat. I am amazed and humbled that such kind professionals took care of G'dog even with all the volume of pets involved. I am very grateful for the clinic and their staff for their service and helping people like me afford such important care. G'dog is a recently adopted rescue dog with no recent, if any, dental care. Luckily, only two teeth extractions were needed. One of the meds for the teeth extraction is liquid and needs to be refrigerated, but I got a cup of ice from a fast food place for the long drive home. For me, it was worth taking the time off and exploring the area, even with the extra driving time. I was at the Pet Advocates office door around 7:45am and I was heading home by 3:30PM. The Pet Advocate offers significantly lower prices compared to Bay Area vet clinics, which sold me. Even their highest price for an extraction is only $40 (pre-molars and molars). After submitting my pet's information online, I was contacted shortly after with availability a month out and paid my $50 deposit. The instructions say drop-off is at 8am so I got there at 7:45am. To my surprise, there were already a ton of people there waiting for their pets' spay/neuter and dental cleaning appointments. By the time I was checked in and allowed to bring my dog inside, it was closer to 9am. Having come from a boutique-like vet in D.C., I was put off once I got inside. The waiting room was so busy, and there were so many cats inside from Animal Service, pet owners, and rescues. It just felt too crowded. Once we got to the back for the examination, it felt even more crowded and very factory-like. However, the vet was attentive, addressed all my concerns, and the vet techs were very friendly and gentle with my sweet pup. Before leaving you do have to pay first. Please note it is about a 3% additional fee for debit and credit cards, so I recommend bringing cash! Initially, I thought all my dog would need is dental cleaning. However, a few hours later I received a call from his vet technician who explained the x-rays showed serious bone less in one of his pre-molars and a molar. She explained to me the additional amount owed for the medication and extractions so I could be prepared. When I went to pick my dog up at 3pm, there was yet another long line and it took another 30-40minutes for most of us to be called in. The vet tech took the time to sit with me and explain all the limitations, how the procedure went, showed me the x-rays, and advised me on post-care. It helped put me at ease. For the price, it was worth coming here. The only cons were the check-in and checkout system, the number of animals there at one time, and how crowded the examination area was. Aside from dental cleaning and vaccinations, I probably would not come here for anything else. In addition to the driving time, factor in about another hour for check-in AND check out. A week post-op and my dog's extraction sites are healing very well so I'm still satisfied with the service!

Last week my 11 year old cat Salem stopped eating and was hiding under the bed constantly, which is so unlike her. We called around and managed to get a same day appointment on a Saturday here, which was incredible, and once we took Salem in the vet discovered she had multiple teeth with lesions on them that needed to be extracted ASAP. They reviewed all the risks of the procedures and recommended tests to run ahead of time to make sure Salem would do well under anesthesia for the amount of time it took to remove the teeth. Yes, the tests were expensive, but they were also run on extremely short notice for a surgery scheduled 4 days in advance, so we went ahead with them. The vet sent us home with some pain meds in the meantime to make sure Salem could eat while we waited for the surgery. All the test results came back normal and her surgery was last Wednesday. They ended up having to extract 8 teeth, but the surgery overall was a success! Salem came out of anesthesia a little loopy but otherwise in good spirits. The recovery wasn't easy - she was in a lot of pain during the days immediately following the surgery, so the nurse who took care of Salem let us come by at the end of the day to pick up more kitty pain meds for her. The difference now is like night and day. She's back to her old self, wolfing down wet food, cuddling with me, and meowing for attention constantly. I was so nervous about the entire surgical process but the team here could not have handled it better. Thank you all so much for taking care of Salem!!
