I called Dr. Bennett when my cat became sick. Him and his Technician were able to see my cat that day. I described the symptoms over the phone and after examining my cat for a few minutes, he gave me his educated guess on what he was experiencing (fever of unknown origin) and provided me with a medical plan moving forward. He showed me how to administer the oral antibiotics as well as the IV fluids. My cat was healed and back to his old self within two days. Dr. Bennett not only saved me money by avoiding unnecessary/expensive testing, he also provided a clear and layman explanation for his opinion. It was clear the team was highly experienced. His Technician (I believe her name was DD) was extremely compassionate and knowledgeable as well. They cared for my animal as if it was theirs. Their degree of professionalism and care for animals was highly evident in their work, and I will absolutely be using their services in the future should I need them. We recommend Dr Bennett for when you have to make the hard choice to euthanize your little loved one. Last week, when it was time to say goodbye to our precious cat, Wild Bill, we called Dr Bennett. We scheduled an appointment when he was available: 2 days later at 9am and paid a deposit for it. He gave us a 9-11am window, but since it was his first appointment of the day, he was there with his assistant at 9. The assistant finalized the payment and then they set up the shots. He gave us the option of being there for any or both of the shots. We were able to hold and comfort Bill while Dr Bennett applied the first shot to put him to sleep. Then we were able to hold Bill's paws and say goodbye while Dr Bennett applied the final shot. At that point, Dr Bennett and his assistant gave us their condolences and left. It was all very quick, within 15 minutes. It was as comfortable and dignified an exit as we could give Bill, in his home, on his bed, with his loving cat parents. read more

They have been to our house 4-5 times now for our ailing elderly cats, and I'm continually impressed with their ability to balance the needs and preferences of the owner with those of the animal. First Dr.Bennett was willing to meet with our house sitter to check on the cat and then sadly, when we returned home we realized it was time for her to go. It's been years since our experience with Dr. Bennett, which traumatized myself and my daughter. When I spoke with an animal-loving friend recently, though, she encouraged me to share our experience for the good of other people's beloved pets. We had a sweet cat who had been diagnosed with sarcoma in the roof of her mouth, and wasn't able to eat. She was relatively young and energetic, and it was horrible to have to make the decision to have her put down, but I couldn't bear to make her starve to death in pain every time she tried to eat. We had tried every soft diet we could find, and she gagged and began having eye and nose trouble as the cancer spread. In younger days, she had been traumatized being scruffed at the emergency vet we had taken her to, and she was terrified at every subsequent trip to the vet, so when we made the difficult decision to ease her suffering, I looked for a vet who could come to our home to make the experience less traumatic for her. When I made the appointment with Dr. Bennett, he told me that I would need to shut her in a small room like the bathroom before he arrived, which I didn't understand--she was in our home, with us, and wouldn't be going anywhere. He was a little annoyed when he arrived and we had her in the dining room with us, but she was just her sweet self. I told him that I did not want my young daughter to be present, as she loved her kitties and was struggling with the idea of losing one of them. As he stood in our dining room, little Jinxie came over to rub against his leg, and he bent down--I thought to pet her, to help her feel comfortable with him, but instead, he grabbed her by the scruff, which made her panic and struggle and twist out of his grasp--all with my daughter standing right there, horrified to see her beloved kitty in such terror. Dr. Bennett launched into a tirade about how she should have been confined to the bathroom so he didn't have to chase her, and starting describing a time he had to chase some feral cats around a house as they knocked pictures from walls. He said if we took her to a regular vet they'd put her in a gas chamber and be much less humane, which I knew wasn't true, from my own experience in the past. If we had another option for our kitty, I would have taken it, but I knew she was suffering. We explained that with Jinxie, when we had to medicate her in the past, my daughter would wrap her in a towel to keep her calm and safe. Now my daughter wouldn't leave her, and she helped to calm her and wrap her and hold her while he gave her a sedative injection. He said he had never heard of this technique, which I found surprising as he was a vet with long experience. After the sedative injection, she calmed down and again became affectionate, and went over and cleaned out her sister's food bowl--which showed me just how hungry she had been, but hadn't been able to eat because of the pain in her mouth. We gave her treats and pet her until she slipped to sleep, at which time I had my daughter leave before Dr. Bennett gave her the euthanasia shot that eased Jinxie out of her painful life. We knew we had made the right decision, but not the right choice of person to help her. I know this now, because a few years later, when our other older kitty was dying from lymphoma, we sought the help of a vet that our friend highly recommended, and it was a completely different, loving and peaceful experience. I personally didn't witness any compassion or care in Dr. Bennett's interactions with us or Jinxie, and would never recommend him to anyone who loves their pets. read more

This review is long overdue. My regular vet suggested Dr. Bennett because my cat is so nervous and 16 years old; a trip to the vet is a huge trauma for her even when she wasn't feeling sick. I'm so glad I called him - he and his staff are GREAT. Kind, compassionate, and expert at making the visit as comfortable and productive as possible for me and my hyper-nervous cat. He was careful to give me the information I needed to make the choices best for me and my cat's needs, and did not prescribe a dozen tests, procedures, and medications, nor push me on what he did prescribe. (I don't know how many people realize that in many multiple vet offices, those vets make commissions on the products and procedures you pay for? That wasn't true of my previous vet's office, but it was of the one before it). But I digress - Dr. Bennett got a diagnosis of my cat's condition, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and helped me understand what my cat needed to stay as healthy as possible in her remaining life. She's still with me over a year later, and while I never know how much longer we've got, I sincerely believe that avoiding the trauma of a visit outside the home and Dr. Bennett's good care of her was a big help. read more

I called to make an appointment for 2 wellness checks and a sick cat check up for one of my babies that's been barfing a bit. He opened the phone call with a nonsensical rant about how brick and mortar vets are all owned by saudi arabians, and are just looking to make a profit to send overseas. I asked what their bundle rates are, since it'll be three cats in one visit, and he went on another rant about how if I'm looking for a discount I should go to the SPCA. I interrupted him to tell him I have means, but his prices aren't listed online and I'd like to know what kind of standard exam fee I'm looking at. He quoted me $220 + $68/each additional cat, then went on *yet another* rant about how I didn't understand all the costs associated with vet exams, and that brick and mortar vets were going to upcharge me on tests. He then listed off several tests and asked me if I knew what they were (I.. did... I have a medical background...). I didn't answer, just asked him for his house call rate since that was the info I came for, and said bye. What a weird, racist, mansplaining experience. He almost sounded drunk. My cats are all sweet and precious babies, I am happy to pay hundreds of dollars to get them their care in-home where they're comfortable, but not from somebody who would rather lecture me than give me the information I'm looking for. I shudder to think kind of rant I'd get for, idk, asking for fecal test results. Hard pass. read more
