These people rushed typing out my family members obituary to the point of NUMEROUS MISTAKES, Misspelled Name, Missing Words, Misspelled the City, Bad punctuation, SO MANY ERRORS.. I don't know if I would really give this place one star. Had a family service there and they were not ready at all. The man the had to great people did not even do that as he was constantly falling asleep. There was nothing to o receive cards in we had to ask for that. Another patron was in the lobby complaining about them and they didn't even have her go to an office to talk. We had to listen to her complaints, I had many of the same concerns. I hope this review steers grieving families to a better place that has dignity in their profession. The bathrooms were also dirty and with no hot water this should be a health violation. read more

My uncle passed away unexpectedly at Kaweah Delta Hospital. They automatically transported him to Salser & Dillard Funeral Home. My family made arrangements with that funeral home and two days before the funeral, they informed us that they double booked!!! They were unsympathetic and simply said the other funeral was bigger and so it'll be easier to make changes to ours. I felt so belittled and hurt. Thats when I called Miller Memorial Chapel. They were so kind and welcoming and completely took care of the mess that was left behind by the competing funeral home. They were able to accommodate us for the date/time we had originally scheduled. Then they took care of everything else! They got all the details from our old funeral home and put it all together PERFECTLY in less than 2 days!!!!! I cannot thank our director, Rhonda, enough because she gave me hope when I felt completely broken. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my uncle and me. read more

my sister passed unexpectedly and we had to wait for an autopsy. When it was done we asked Miller if we could go see body since we didn't identify her it was the cops who did. Their only 2 family members who wanted to go and we were told it would cost us because she was already been identified. Really during are time of grief you can't give us 5 minutes. There is a reason I now know why they are rated 3 stars. My friend wanted his service through them but I've experienced nothing but problems since his passing. They lost the power of attorney paperwork so he wasnt cremated for nearly 2 weeks. They have now informed me the quote they gave for placing him in the niche his wife prepaid for costs twice as much as their initial quote which was in the contract he paid for and unless I come up with the difference he goes home with me in a cardboard box which were not his wishes. No family member or friend of a 28 year Navy veteran should not have to go through all of this stress and anxiety. read more

Beware of management & employee theft from the dead. Lourdes, Brian the district manager and Kera the manager are all in on the theft of my fathers money he was brought in with when his body was found. My fathers body's arrived on 8/28/21 at dignity memorial and we claimed his Jon Doe body on 10/28/21. The employees here at Dignity memorial thought he was never going to be claimed by his loved ones, so they stole his $700.30 off of his person (dead person). I've been asking for my dead father money since 11/08/21 till today 11/29/21. When I went in on 11/08/21 Lourdes said we couldn't get my father money because Kera the manager wasn't at the funeral home to open the safe and that she was the only one that could access the safe. Now the story has changed that anyone can get in the safe and that's how the money went missing. So what story is it? These people will steal from your dead loved ones. Make sure if you put jewelry on your dead loved one to burry them with, make sure these people don't steal it off of them first before they're buried. ZERO STARS, Kera is the most unprofessional funeral person in the state of California. I seen her totally ignore a family and guest at a service, while she talked on her cell phone and walked by everyone to go outside and smoke cigarettes in front of grieving families. She helped with our brother's service in the only way of demanding money to be paid at the very begging and lagged in all other areas after money was paid. Never received phone calls back and my brother sat in a cold establishment after being cremated for over a week with no contact. Family's that are looking for a caring funeral home should go anywhere but here. read more

We used the Miller Memorial home for our stillborn daughter as it was nearest to the hospital she was delivered in. Normally in the case of a stillborn, funeral homes discount prices due to the situation and the fact that babies tend to be easier to provide services for. This was not the case at Miller Memorial. The primary service they provided was to embalm our daughter and transport her to the airport to be shipped to a local funeral home in Seattle. The cost to transport her to the airport was more than 3x the cost of the plane transportation (albeit it was a three hour trip). They charged full price over $600 to embalm a newborn baby. It took a full week from when they received her to when she was shipped. In terms of communication, while the person we dealt with was very nice and personable, we had to provide the same information over and over again to them and the hospital. Nonetheless they still had incorrect information (including misspelling the last name on our daughter's shipment). No one wants to comparison shop when they need a funeral home since you're not in the emotional state to do so. I strongly urge you to ask for a price list upfront and compare Miller to other choices. read more

From very start, not worth going to. Parents had plan at Millers, WHEN IT WAS A QUALITY FAMILY BUSINESS (David, Paul, and later Brad. Must be a good reason he is now at another place in town), now lousy and still banking on decades of good will by brothers and even Mr. Brooks. Had arrangements appointment, Funeral Director selected time, made me wait alone in room with big table. She then did not know how to copy a 7 page document, this inability would continue from Tuesday to Friday, not being able to copy a 2-sided standard State of California AHCD form. Then made me wait for a half hour again. I repeat, arrangements had been made and paid for years in advance. Each day I had to go to funeral home to make corrections to their errors, or initial corrections. Memory card had the wrong dates of both death and birth; so useless. Funeral Director made appointment on Friday for me to come in, then left in the 5 minutes it took to get to the business. Manager finally came out of her office after a half-hour upset I didn't go in big table room, but sat in the office by the very very nice receptionist. Manager finally got the copying done, but then Manager had to come by parent's house on Saturday to have more corrections initialed while she was out doing errands 9not a problem, actually the only thing that didn't go wrong business-wise). On the Tuesday of the next week, day I picked up parent's cremains, Funeral Director saw me at food store and glared with a "you MF'in' SOB" look. [please excuse me for putting it that way, but the eyes don't lie] I won't even go into the occasion of the nice quality burial suit for uncle getting put on another man and then cremated, so aunt had to take to funeral home a second suit that wasn't the nice one uncle had selected. They wouldn't even come by her house to pick up suit. REAL QUALITY WORK THERE, ACROSS THE BOARD. read more

Our sister passed away unexpectedly in Visalia in late January. While I and my siblings have planned several funerals, we have not had any experience with funeral homes in Visalia. We went on third hand recommendation and selected Miller Memorial Chapel. We should have checked Yelp and asked more questions. When we met with the funeral home initially, we felt the coordinator was tentative and seemed to not have as many certain answers as we expected. Seemed to us that there might be disconnects between her and the "back office operation". But we proceeded. The coordinator was polite. The care given to our sister was wonderful. She looked so beautiful in the coffin. All of these elements of our experience were fine. What was not at all fine was the "back office" stuff. In particular, the wait for the death certificates was a full four weeks. This is twice as long as we have ever experienced before. When we inquired of the status with our coordinator, we were always told that it was somebody else in their business that handled this matter. When I asked to speak to that person, I was not given the opportunity to do so. And I couldn't just stop in and shake the tree because I live 5 1/2 hours from Visalia. They used the excuse that my sister died in a different county (Fresno). But what in reality what happened is that there was a two-week delay in ordering the death certificates. Two week delay! Absolutely no excuse for this. Absolutely no excuse for passing the blame to another county. Absolutely no excuse for the coordinator not pushing on this on our behalf and not even putting me through to the person who dropped the ball so that I could have a conversation with that person to lay out how this delay was so negatively impactful. Because I do not live anywhere near Visalia, I will probably never be asked for a reference for a funeral home in Visalia. If I am, I will most certainly tell them to avoid this business if the transparency and timeliness of this process is important to them. We were let down. read more

We had my father in laws service there today and it went extremely well. They went above and beyond when they delivered all our flowers to my home for the reception. They were great to deal with and were there when we needed them. I like the fact that they allowed it to be simplistic so that it eased this experience. I would recommend this funeral home to anyone. read more

My Mother recently passed away and I was OVERWHELMED. I didn't know where to go or what to do. I called Miller's in Visalia, made an appointment and that's where I met Rhonda and Reyna. I don't know what I would have done without them. They sat me down and treated me like Family. They walked me through the process, never pushed me into something I didn't want and made a sad situation okay. The results turned out PERFECT. I've been to Miller Memorial Chapel several times for funerals for family members. The only dealings I've had with the staff, which were very kindly is when I needed to go to the restroom before heading back home on my 3 hour journey. At the Friday night viewing I did notice that every pew in the chapel had a box of tissues. I found this to be very thoughtful. read more

We chose Miller Memorial when my husband died unexpectedly because they were the on-call service for that particular month. We chose to cremate him and the staff did a great job for us during that process. Where they fell short, however, was in the area of communication. For example, we had originally scheduled his viewing for a particular day, but because they failed to inform us about another detail related to his autopsy, we ended up having to have the viewing on my son's birthday. I also had to call them several times with questions and other instructions, and every time I had to explain every detail all over again. I felt like they were very patronizing in the way they spoke with me, as if they were afraid of any emotion that I might possibly have. For some reason, even though I made sure they had my phone number many times, they kept calling my daughter instead. I found that to be very frustrating. If accurate and timely communication is important to you, then you might want to research other funeral homes. read more

When my grandfather past away, Millers was the only funeral home we considered. We were greeted and served with dignity and compassion. There service went beyond the call of duty. I have been to other funeral homes in Visalia and helped friends get through this difficult time, and it seemed like business as usual. There is no doubt why Millers has been around for so long and has the reputation it does. The care they give us was priceless.
