I cannot say enough good things about the folks at Miller Vet. Dr Miller was thorough, didn't try to sell me something my pup didn't need, and she explained everything. My 12 or old Chi, Lucia was having a terrible skin reaction and had chewed her paws raw, scratching her face and chewing where she shouldn't be. She was an itchy mess. I just moved back to GA and I didn't have a vet yet. I yelped her, and found all the lovely reviews. I agree with all the good ones! Lucia is on the mend, still a little itchy but she is no longer harming herself. I am referring my roommate for her 2 dogs. Her present vet has horrible yelp reviews. read more

So I brought my dog in because he has bad allergies and I refused to go to the over priced clinic down the road anymore. She not only prescribed his meds within my budget but formulated a plan to help cure his allergies if at all possible with dietary changes and such....first vet I've been to that actually came up with a plan to help him instead of "oh just keep buying our meds to treat the symptoms" approach. I have truly loved Miller Veterinary Services for the past 3 years. Dr. Miller and Lynn have been amazing. Thorough and caring. We moved an hour away and I still used them. Then COVID hit... I scheduled a semi-annual exam and grooming. I never got a confirmation call, had to call myself to confirm (pre-COVID, I always got a call). I arrive and explain to the person who came to my car what kind of grooming I wanted and what I wanted to let Dr Miller know. He took my dog, and 6 hrs later I had to inquire what the status was (it has never taken that long). They told me it would be another 45 minutes. When I arrived to pick up my dog, they took my payment and when I asked the results of the exam, they informed me they didn't do it. Although it was in the notes, what my dog was scheduled for, they took the word of the guy who came and got my dog that I had opted for no exam. I never stated that - and instead of calling to confirm, they just took his word. In turn, the associate never even offered to get the vet to see my dog or try to make it better. I'm not sure if Lynn is still here or if they've hired more people, but she would never have let this happen. Truly disappointed in service and not sure we will be back. read more

Did not have proper medicine available. Dr. Miller was extremely disrespectful and spoke in an insulting manner, when I asked her to be more polite she told me not to get "up in my feelings." They charged me for exams I never consented to. They also charge about double what other local vets charge for services. I do not recommend going here. read more

I have been using Miller Vet for the last 4 or 5 years, even before she opened her practice. She use to be so sweet and caring, but in the last year her attitude toward people changed. She has had lots of changes with her staff. Some of her staff just walking out, and that says a lot about her. Some of the staff can be very rude. Long story short, after boarding my pets there they came home very sick, severely dehydrated, lethargic, vomiting and diarrhea. I had to find a different Vet, because I knew that Dr. Miller would not be loving toward my pets. And this was NOT the first time I had to get medical treatment for my pets after boarding them there. Dr Miller is The BEST!!! A breath of fresh Air! This new clinic is amazing so professional and all the top of the line equipment! From ultrasound to laser to digital radiology she has it all! The X rays of my dog were amazing and they put them on a disk to take with me. Dr. Miller is so kind and gentle and really takes the time to make sure I understand my pet's diagnosis and treatment options. The staff was so cool! I never take the time to write a bad review, never ever but today I am. I would not recommend going to this vet. Originally I was a little put off by having to pay a deposit for an appointment, but I did it for the sake of starting a good relationship with a different vet. I have 6 dogs and because my vet went up on prices I thought it would be worth looking for another local vet. My first appointment went well. I scheduled my dog with epilepsy for an appointment to be neutered because the vet suggested neutering my 7 year old dog during the first visit with a different dog, when I called to schedule the neutering I told the receptionist about the epilepsy she put me on hold and came back telling me that he would not be able to take medication after 12 midnight. I told her that it wouldn't be a problem because he could miss a couple of doses and be fine, she set the appointment and again I paid a deposit. I called a couple of days later because my dog was very excited, restless and hyper trying to mate with my 7 month old female at that time I thought that maybe I should put off neutering him and spay her but I wanted to call and speak with the vet about it and to see if it was even possible to get her the appointment in place of his. I called the receptionist told me that I needed to speak to the "nurse" when I tell you that this woman was rude, nasty her tone was sharp and deliberate. She told me I should put my dog down, she took the time to tell me about epilepsy and what it was doing to my dogs brain (like I did not know this) I couldnt tell if she was trying to impress me or someone sitting beside her while she was talkin to me. She herself knew she was speaking in an awful tone because she apologized without me saying a word. She did all this before she spoke to the vet. She spoke to the vet and told me that her and the vet agreed, like she was a vet, it was such an awful experience that someone that is not a vet would make such suggestions. I feel like this vet probably gives her staff too much lead way to do and say what they want because this person was very comfortable in telling me things I feel that only the vet should have said to me. I mean putting down a 7 year old dog that has never been a problem until I introduced a new female into the family was shocking, even if what she said was 100% true it was not her place to have the 10 minute conversation with me on her thoughts and beliefs. She actually said, I dont know who your vet is but you should be talking to them about this, I told her that I wanted them to be my vet but that, that would not be happening. I think that a recommendation of putting a dog to sleep or as she put it " maybe its time to say bye bye" should have been given by the vet not a staff member this person was insensitive and lacked in compassion and basically disregarded my issues, told me spaying my female aint happening tomorrow and did not offer an appointment. She was just out of line. In addition, again I have 6 dogs 2 are seniors and 4 needed a groomer, I was wanting this vet to be the one handling my dogs. I listened to this woman with a lot of anger and confusion but I let her talk without interruption and I was not rude to her at anytime. I will never ever recommend this place because its obvious that staff do what they want. read more

Update: The actual vet's response to this on FB tells me all I need to know about her practice. Apparently the office staff learned their skills directly from her. No Tact. No professionalism- shared my personal contact information in her response. UGA just lets anyone through huh? I guess they didn't need an ethics course to graduate. So unbelievably unprofessional. This vet boarded my dogs at the last minute last week which did help me out a lot. I asked that one of my dogs receive two vaccinations that would be up in the next month. I sent my dogs most recent vaccination report to verify with them which two he needed. They apparently don't know how to read a vaccination report and tried to give my dog vaccines that aren't due until 2023. They double charged us for the one vaccination they actually did- they didn't tell me that they didn't do the other one he needed until I called about needing the vaccination report for it a week later. I asked THREE people for an emailed copy of his vaccination records for the one vaccine he did receive. All THREE said that they would send it over---- they never did and when I called back they told me to use the portal. They said that they could not include the documentation from the vaccine on the report. Why would you agree to send it if you weren't going to? Todd (vets husband) and another man up there are so unprofessional and literally talked over me every single time I tried to speak and when I asked to speak to the vet (owner), Todd told me "no." Then they blocked my number from their business. When I called from my husbands number with no problem, Todd said "We already helped you out and let your dogs stay here." That is part of a vet business and while it was last minute and a vet I could find on short notice, its not like you had to bend the rules or bend over backwards in order to board my dogs as its a service that Dr. Miller provides already lol. You do not treat customers this way. All I wanted was proof that he got his vaccine, and considering they don't want to provide the manufacture that they used for it, I doubt he got it. They both were so incredibly rude to me WHEN THEY are the ones who charged me more than I should and I didn't even make a big deal about that because I got the money back. Dr. Miller- I would have a strong seminar on customer service skills. They need to be brushed up on greatly. read more

Everyone in this office is amazing! Dr. Miller takes time to really evaluate your fur baby. She's been a total game changer in the medical care my babies receive. I recommend her to everyone! They also have a fantastic groomer there. I don't trust my girls with anyone else! read more

Oh my gosh! I love this place. PetSmart recommended this place to me after I went to them for grooming. My pup was matted in areas and they told me that this place would be great for getting her groomed. I took her here and Lyn and Emily were amazing. They did such a great job on my pup I had to call back and thank them. I will now be going here for any visits and grooming. read more

Miller Veterinary Services is by far the best Veterinary care in our area and beyond. Dr. Shannon Miller pays great attention to detail. The clinic not only has excellent top of the line veterinary care but also boarding, grooming, Science Diet food, and their own online pharmacy! The location is on Green Street just off West Avenue in a beautiful white victorian which has been a doctor's office in the past. The pricing is very competitive but the service is far beyond what you will have seen elsewhere. read more

I found this vet office on Yelp and from the beginning of the process until the end of my dog's stay the staff was so friendly and professional. I used this facility to board my dog during a family vacation in the summer. They answered my Yelp message promptly and were prepared for my call to book his stay. I like that my dog was able to get groomed during his visit and they made sure my dog had access to his food all day along because he's a grazer. I would definitely use this vet again. read more

So first off I just want to say I was very happy with this place at first. The service, the vet, the building. Everything was great. However there was an incident that unfortunately caused me to decide I would not be going back. I was told my future appointment would be a certain price and would have certain things done and then when it actually came down to it it was more than double the price I was told. My husband was the one who brought our pet in and he didn't know so he just went ahead and paid and didn't question anything. I called and talked numerous times and basically just got told that they were sorry and that the person made a mistake. This is understandable however I really feel Customer Service should be number one. I understood the mistake but where is the accountability? I'm very tired of businesses giving me the same old excuses of people being sick and there being new workers. I don't care. People should be trained better then. I'm sick of being the one who gets screwed over because of others incompetence. So I will not be returning. read more

This place gets a BIG FAT ZERO. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND WILL ATTACK YOU WHILE YOUR PET IS IN NEED FOR PROFESSIONAL AND COMPASSIONATE CARE. I never write about anything on-line. I just stop using the service. This had to be told. (As you read this don't forget to read the conclusion at the end. Their diagnosis was completely wrong and this could have been a disaster.) Todd and Dr. Miller were the first people I encountered at Miller Veterinary Services. They were friendly to me and my pet, and they assisted me with a persistent UTI problem. My pet was not feeling good the second time. They didn't find anything, according to Carol. I inquired about blood tests for the liver and kidneys, among other things. As she gets older, I told her I like to conduct blood work once a year so there are no surprises. According to Carol, they don't see any reason to do so. The last visit had been a complete nightmare. I dropped off my cat since she was having health problems. Later that day, Carol Johnson called to inform me that my cat had suffered a stroke and was blind. "REALLY?!?" I exclaimed. I was completely shocked. I inquired as to how they arrived at that conclusion, and she stated that it was based on the notes I had given to them. Carol got aggressive and disrespectful in response to my inquiry. She then proceeded to inform me that my cat had rabies. No way, I told her; she'd spent her entire life indoors, and I'd never had any outside animals in my home. She became nasty and abrasive once more. Carol was outside my car shouting at me when I picked up my pet. She needs to find a new profession since she lacks empathy and compassion for pets and pet parents. Our community is small, and word gets around. This Carol will destroy Dr. Millers reputation. Dr. Miller should send her to a specialized bootcamp. I will avoid using this veterinarian service due to this horrible woman. Conclusion: BY THE WAY, I took my pet to another veterinarian. He knew right away it was not a stroke and he DID the blood work. My pet DID NOT have a stroke. She has hyperthyroid which is affecting her liver and kidneys, which caused all the other symptoms. Absolutely one of the best veterinarians in Georgia. She is so great with our two dogs, not only in her care and kindness, but also in her ability to diagnose and treat. A previous vet had missed a serious condition with our dog. Dr. Miller diagnosed his condition almost immediately after we told her about his symptoms. She did blood tests to rule out other illnesses, and when the blood tests came back her initial diagnosis was confirmed. Her assistants are also great with our dogs. The office is set up to accommodate every situation. For example, if your pet doesn't like to be up on a metal exam table, she has a special room where they can be on a low, large padded ottoman and Dr. Miller can be at eye level to do her exam. She also has a special family waiting room that is private for those pet owners who are very distraught and need privacy. From the tour we were given on our first visit, we could see that so much thought was put into setting up their office with the animals being put first and foremost. The office accommodates just about any type of procedure that may need to be done. Can't say enough nice things about Dr. Miller. She is kind, compassionate and most of all she is a very intuitive and smart vet. We live a little far away, but the drive is worth it. We have the utmost confidence in Dr. Miller and her staff. So I took my dogs here back in November 2019 for that 1st time and everything was amazing. Fast forward to today March 2,2020. It started with Carole being extremely rude! I was placed on hold four times by her and every time she came to the phone it was for the wrong dog! Once I told her that she have came to the phone several times with the wrong dog and tried to tell her what I needed she did not let me finish and placed me on another hold. So I decided to hang up and call back. I called the same number I have been calling since November! Shannon the doctor there picks up and I say I need to speak to a manger and she chuckles and say this is a personal phone and I need to call the office and hangs up! Okay now I'm pissed! I called back and got a sweet guy and asked him if he could give me a break down of charges which he did. So we get there to get our dog and Shannon say you guys are luck I'm still here! She tried to dismiss us from her place of rudeness but my husband told her we were not coming back after she called his phone and was rude to him as well and would not let him talk. I said all that too say, GO elsewhere! Shannon and Carole need to find a new passion because it is not in ANIMALS and their FAMILY! UPDATE- They gave my dog heart meds that she need for the rest of her life and gave refills. We tried to get the refills and Miller Veterinary Shannon would not honor the RX so we had to do to a different vet! read more

I wanted a new vet for my pup Cody and after reading all the good reviews, I decided to try Miller Veterinary. Cody was having issues with his back right leg so it was good timing. Well they have exceeded all expectations! From the minute we walked in the door, we felt like we were long time clients. The service was beyond excellent! We have been taking our pets to Dr. Miller for many, many years. Hands down, the best vet anywhere. Besides being a top-notch vet and surgeon (your pet is not referred elsewhere for surgery), she is compassionate and down to earth. She takes the time to talk to you and explain what is happening with your pet. The facility is beautiful (they're happy to give you a tour), and the staff is equally amazing.
