Stopped in and ordered the Dilly Don Burger. It was smothered in tangy dill ranch with a nice layer of classic bar pickles. Simple, tangy, and absolutely perfect. I love a place that actually adds enough sauce so you don't have to reach for ketchup. Fries were crispy, beer on tap was cold and fresh, and my partner's Breakfast Burger with a perfectly runny over-easy egg was spot on. The whole vibe is cozy, laid-back, and exactly what you want from a classic neighborhood dive. There's easy residential street parking nearby, which makes it even better. Definitely come during off-hours if you want to snag a seat, it's popular for a reason. Bonus: it was easily $20-$30 cheaper than any other sit-down meal we've had around here. Miller's got on my radar from Tony Cu's food review video posted on Facebook this week. I looked up your website and FB page, and discovered you offer an affordable fish and shrimp basket on Friday's. So sis and I took a drive to our hometown to give it a try. Found off-street parking in a neighborhood close by. We are early birds but we got the last available booth/ table at 5pm. It's a small place so it's maybe 4 booths, 5 tables, 1 hightop and the bar for seating. It is seat yourself. The "kitchen" is also to the side of the bar (like Matt's Bar in MPLS) so you can watch them cook if you had a good seat. There was a "band" (2 people) setting up for live music to begin at 6pm. We had left prior to them starting though. Even thought it was packed, we had plenty of attention from all the staff: waitress, bartender and COOK. Waittress to our order, bartender delivered our drinks, cook verified our order (small vs large onion rings). We splint an order of onion rings. They were battered, not breaded! We prefer battered. They were slightly sweet, crunchy and hot. No dipping sauce offered besides bottled ketchup. Sis got the $11 fish basket with $1.50 lemonade. A dollar fifty for lemonade!! I tried the tartar sauce and liked it. Had a hint of dill. I got the $11 shrimp basket. The shrimp were breaded. Hot and crunchy. No tartar sauce for dipping. They were good but didn't really taste the shrimp, just the breading. I'm not a coleslaw fan but sis said it was good/fine. She couldn't describe the flavor, just that it wasn't Marzetti's (less flavor, no zip). I also ordered a McKenzie's Black Cherry cider. That's hard to find in a bar. It was cold and tart and delicious. Mmm. And only $4.50. Overall, the place was clean, the service was great, the food was good, the prices were awesome. We will definitely be back to try out more of the menu (aka Tony's Firecracker burger). Love supporting small businesses in our local neighborhoods. read more

Miller's Corner Bar is small. In the dining area there are 3 booths, 5 tables, and 12 seats at the bar, and they are fairly packed into the fairly small space. There are also two picnic tables outside, but it was a bit too cold the night we went, so nobody sat outside. We were there at about 7:15 on a Friday night, so it was packed full of people, yet we miraculously got a table for two right away. There was also a live band that night so the place was crowded and noisy. The vibe was very neighborhood "small town" bar, almost a dive bar, but not in a bad way. It was pretty clean, though some of the furniture showed age and use. They have a pull tab machine if you are into that, and a TouchTunes machine which I assume is in play on nights there isn't live music. The lighting is dim, but not so dark that you can't read the menu even with my aging eyes. There is one tv in the corner, which I also assume is in use on nights without live music. There is also a self-serve popcorn machine which is always good in a "small town" bar. The waitress came to us very quickly to get our drinks order and give us our menus. She was very friendly and attentive without being pushy at all. We ordered our drinks and they came out to us quickly. Everyone we encountered that evening was very friendly and they were quick to be of service. When a party left a table it was cleaned and re-set impressively quickly. The food was good! It took a little longer than I would have expected, but not so long that it was bothersome. Honestly it probably only seemed slow to me because my husband was hangry and I wanted to get food in his belly as quickly as possible. My husband had the Trouble Double burger. He said the meat was very good and juicy, though he thought it was a bit overcooked - mind you he is a "rare" guy and the meat was cooked medium-well to well done, but that is on him because he didn't request his burger cooked a certain way when he ordered. Also he would have preferred fried onions rather that the raw that was on his burger, and the burger had more pickles on it than he likes - again, his problem because he didn't specify when he ordered. He is a pretty picky guy and not shy about saying what he doesn't like, but he didn't complain to the waitress (thank god) because everything was fine even if not to his exact wishes. On the side he had ordered tater tots which he seemed to like. I had the Grilled Chicken sandwich and I had no complaints. The meat was well seasoned with good balance, not too much seasoning, not too little. It had tomatoes, lettuce, and mayo on it which was optional, but didn't cost extra like some places like to do. Over all, very good. I had the coleslaw on the side. It was flavourful and creamy and seemed to be house made. In general I would say the food was pretty good and exceeded expectations for a dive-ish bar. By 7:45ish the crowd started thinning out and the noise level dropped considerably. The dinner rush was over. When we finished eating we were not rushed or pushed to get out. We had a very good experience. The only reason I gave it a four star review instead of five is that it might not be everyone's cup of tea, and it was pretty full space for how small it was - which is probably on me because I am an introvert and get a little uncomfortable around so many people. Hands down my favorite burgers in Minneapolis! Everything is made fresh to order and cooked perfectly every time. Their sides (fries, onion rings and tots) are also a slam dunk. This is definitely one of those under rated burger joints on the south side of Columbia Heights. If you live in the neighborhood, you are lucky to call this home. A fine tap selection and free popcorn, but the place is a solid hit if you are going for a burger. I swear (I've got picture proof!) that this is one of the prettiest burgers I've ever had with the jalapeno's as little nubs under the cheese. No fear of them falling of this thing. And those tots? Man, what a great neighborhood place this is! Located just east of Central Avenue, this corner bar reminds me of the places I cut my teeth on earlier in my drinking days. This place is the perfect dive bar, and I mean that in the most endearing way. You can tell this place is run well. it's loaded with regulars. Overall it had a really nice vibe to and the staff certainly makes you feel welcome. It was just dumb luck that we went here, and I am glad we did. Somebody mentioned that their breaded pork tenderloin sandwich is really good. We were only about 15 minutes away so we thought we'd go for it. Whoever said it was a good pork tenderloin sandwich undersold it. It was pretty awesome. The menu is pretty basic; burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwich, etc. There is something to be said about having a burger made on a flat top griddle. They have that awesome crust that makes the burger that much more enjoyable. The fries and tots are good and plentiful, as well as the onion rings. Totally coming back here when I can. What a cute little gem! This place was hoppin' when I visited on a Friday evening. Our waitress was SO nice. She genuinely seemed to really enjoy her job. The single waitress travels jovially from table to table. She was a fairy in a past life sprinkling magic throughout the forest. A group of five young people talk happily. You question whether they're there ironically. And the charm of Miller's hits you. Everyone hoisting their pint, throwing back their head in laughter, and picking up a fallen walking cane in a perfectly-timed choreography, like a brilliant coo coo clock of a German beer hall that has been chiming out the hour for the last fifty years without fail. Came here with a groupon and it didn't disappoint the waitress/ bartender was very friendly upon arrival and made me feel welcomed and valued. Ordered the jalapeño poppers and Mac n cheese bites to start. Both were real good. The poppers were excellent even. Got the fire cracker burger and that was also very good. Made fresh in a little grill behind the bar. Was cool to be able to see your food being made. The burger was juicy and had a nice spicy sauce on the bottom bun. This bar feels like home to me (I'm from a small town). It's another one of those places that's old and dive-y and a little run down, but SO CLEAN (see Flameburger). Our server was like everyone's mom. There was the aura of compassion just radiating from her - when we ordered something that had been 86-ed, she seemed really genuinely upset about it. It was cute. Anywho, we both ordered burgers and beer, and they were burgers and beer. The burgers were good. They weren't like the best burgers in the world, but they were good. And there's the bonus perk of the grill and fryer being right behind the bar, so you never have to worry about extra sauce on your burger, if you know what I mean (no matter how much that lady in the next booth over deserves it). read more

This place is the bomb. I love my dive bars. And I love a good one that has great hospitality, a cook that knows what is going on, the original gear left in it, you can watch the cook, descent music in the back ground, the music at just right level. And no body is over served. You can tell who the neighbors are. Etc. this place has a menu I would like to bring a couple bills in and bring a large family and try it all. It is what it is. The food is inexpensive. Worth the drive. The onion rings the best since I've when I was in my teens I think. The original bar food with their own mark on it.
