MN etouffee with shrimp, andouille, and a perfectly fried piece of walleye.

Attended a MN Rum Club event at NE Social. Theme was Mardi Gras. Went in blind not having been before and not knowing what dishes would be served. Boy was I surprised. NE Social has a fun neighborhood space perfect for upscale cocktails and creative dishes. We started off with Zapp's Voodoo chips and onion dip paired with 4 samples of yummy Cheramie sugarcane rums. The 4-course meal was incredible: a crawfish arancini, a soft shell crab po'boy, étouffée with shrimp, andouille and walleye, and a crème brûlée banana cheesecake. All the sauces on each dish were lip licking delicious. We were blown away by the Chef's creations AND the rum cocktails prepared for each course. The dishes & drinks were difficult to serve our group of approx 30; however, the staff did an excellent job getting us the food while it was still hot and the drinks nicely chilled. The Chef needs to seriously consider adding some of these dishes on NE Social's everyday menu. They were that good. Finally, thanks to Chuck of MN Rum Club for putting together an incredible event.

The food was really good. We went for Father's Day brunch and they had a good selection. It also felt very clean and comfortable. Our waitress was kind and quick even though it was busy. We would recommend for brunch!

Northeast Social is a MUST for brunch! We needed a table for 5 (4 adults + 1 baby) for brunch on short notice and they went above & beyond to accommodate us. When we first walked in, we were delighted by the holiday decor. It feels reminiscent of the Hogwarts Great Hall at Christmas, and nothing can top that! (No ogres spotted). All the servers were helpful and fun. Beyond the good vibes, the food was phenomenal. The current brunch special is house made biscuits with sausage gravy, and it was so savory and flavorful without being overly heavy or salty. Others raved about the crab Benedict AND they custom made a traditional Benedict for our table, too. Phenomenal service and phenomenal experience! I can't wait to head back for dinner sometime soon.

"Hidden Gem" and I only say that is because I have lived in this area of Northeast Minneapolis and never noticed it. We went on Valentines Day and the drinks and food were SO good. Even though it was busier because of the holiday our server was still very attentive and friendly. We ordered the beef carpaccio to start and then these may have been special dishes that night but we got the scallop puttanesca and the buccatini bolognese. Both entrees were extremely delicious. It was also snowing very hard that night and we sat right by the window it was so beautiful. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is a hidden treasure nestled a couple blocks off Broadway. The ambiance is curated to be an upscale cocktail and New American Cuisine establishment with friendly service. I was impressed by the knowledge the waiter had on the beer list and food options. I gave 4 stars because I ordered the Potato Cavatelli Cacio e Pepe and was not enthralled by the flavor (over peppery). Everything else was great!

Social burger, no onion marmalade.

Found this place by accident after our planned dinner spot was closed. Wandered into a charming and classy dining space with a dark gothic Alice in wonderland vibe. Lots of art on the walls, black and blue and silver decor, and candlelight. Our server was busy tending bar but still had time to give us a detailed run down of the menu and all the specials. I got the social burger, which comes with deliciously crisp shoestring fries. The burger was just the right size and incredibly well seasoned. The soup of the day and brisket sandwich were also enjoyed by my companions. We got the seasonal cheesecake for dessert, which was turtle. Also very tasty. It started to get busy when we were getting ready to go so we had to wait a bit to get the bill but I didn't mind because I got to look at everything on the walls some more. Pretty convinced I found a magic portal to a delicious place last night when I walked in these doors.

Perhaps I did not order the right type of food here but my first experience is merely okay in terms of food. The service is great and I had a very attentive and patient server. The location and space are also suitable for friendly conversations. Pretty much everything about the place is great. Just the food taste doesn't do it for me. This rating is in fact a 3.5 but I have chosen 3 because I do not think I can bring it up to a 4, unfortunately. The French baguette was good with butter but the bread itself was old and hard. I had an Ivorian friend with me who was a French cuisine connoisseur and she recognized the same issue. Then the gnocchi, which had flavor that I did not expect. It wasn't too creamy or rich, which was great. I think there might have been too much of the sun-dried tomatoes flavor but the sour taste from it was pretty strong. Maybe it is because sun-dried tomatoes are concentrated in terms of that flavor. The manicotti felt like it could be made in other more casual settings. The spinach basil cream felt a bit like artichoke dip, and the ricotta felt like it was not really prepared prior to putting them into the pasta. The bread was good despite not tasting fresh (kind of soggy). The rosemary honey panna cotta was amazing! Have a spoon of a bit of the panna cotta with the honey was truly a great experience. The flourless chocolate torte was great as well, especially since it was flourless it would tasted like it was missing something. But that was okay because the expectation was already there. I saw that some of their meat dishes are more popular, so if I decide to visit again, then I may give those a shot instead! But overall if people happen to be around the area, then I will still recommend them.

Our friends picked our dinner spot and picked Northeast Social - a restaurant that I've always heard about but never actually been to. So I was pleased to finally get the chance to check it out. I had the Peach's Castle, which was lovely and peachy. We were with friends who are vegetarian, and it was nice that we could find appetizer options to share that everyone could eat. We got the market cheese, which is cheese, bread, some yummy like apricot preserves and some greens (yay veggies), and we got the mushroom bruschetta, which was pretty tasty. As a table, we ordered: the gnocchi, the scallops, the "arugula," which came with a thinly sliced peach on top... yum, and the chicken. My entree was the gnocchi. They TASTED great and I did clear my plate. But they were very dense and heavy, not light and pillowy like some gnocchi. The chicken was excellent. I would order that if we went back. And we split the panna cotta and the tiramisu for dessert, both of which were totally good. Our waiter (whose name I unfortunately forget) was great. Would definitely go back.

This was the first time we tried Northeast Social and I can't say enough about how amazing everything was. Ambiance was stellar with some jazz music in the background, cool tin ceilings, eclectic artwork and comfy seating. Chase, the GM served us and he was prompt and helpful with the selections. Our apps and mains were spaced perfectly and drinks always refilled. On to the best part the food! It was delectable. The duck cooked to perfection, best duck ever, half a hen was scrumptious, crab linguine was picture perfect and packed with crab. The manicotti could feed two and my Italian father said the best he ever had. High praise indeed. I can't say enough good things we will definitely be back.

I'm so happy that I was able to enjoy a date night here. It's been around 2 years since the last time I was here. It's still feels cozy and intimate which is why I loved coming the first place. Their decorations are very moody and have the place decorated for the Holidays. Our server was simply amazing and gave us great suggestions. We had the plate of cheese which came with 2 different types. My past year is not a cheese plate sort of guy and for him to say that he's glad he was able to try it because he would of missed out was awesome. I agree as well that both cheeses were very very tasty. I do wish their were more slices of bread as the cheese was pretty big and by the end you were left with just taking big bites which I don't mind since I'm a cheese lover. I tried the old fashioned and it was good! The main meal was steak and the vegetables were cooked perfectly and the steak as well. It had great seasoning and loved how crispy the potatoes were crispy on the outside and very fluffy in the inside. I also tried the rigatoni and that was such a warm dish because of the spices. Definitely a must try during this cold season. Now for the finally the rosemary panna cotta with warm honey was the star! I've never had a dessert quiet like that one it was incredibly creamy and you get a subtle taste of rosemary. I'm not ashamed to say that I did scrap off the rest of the honey and it was so worth it. I truly want to come back again for dessert! What a great experience this was!

We had a reservation for later but snuck in early and they accommodated us at the bar and then even prepared a table later for us. Took a bit for staff to greet us at the door but otherwise service was amazing. I really felt they cared about giving us a nice experience and were so attentive, friendly and each had their own recommendations. Drinks - old fashioned and the potato one Both fantastic. I liked the one I chose (sweet potato and rum the most I think I had 4 oops) Food - beef capriccio was the stunner - amazing We also had the manicotti and the short rib. Both delicious and portions are so large! We could have shared one entree but I'm not complaining!! Desert was the Pana cotta - it's not super sweet. Texture is wonderful!!

Yes! Yummy!!

Omgee!! You've got to try the stuffed French toast!! Amazing! It's the perfect blend of peaches and sweetness. Any time you're in the neighborhood drop in Joe is the bomb.com!

I ate all of the rosemary inside, but not a fan of the consistency. I dont like honey, but this was a nice touch to the dish.

The Toothpivk Review: Plating 10, 9, 9 really pretty Food 6, 7.5, 8 didn't like the risotto, linguini was not good Service 8, 9, 9 attentive, suggestive Overall 8.5, 8, 8.5 always room for improvement  Would you return? Yes! We much enjoyed the cheese plate, though I had mixed emotions about the onion marmalade. Loved the baguette and garlic butter. The hand made lemonade was the best I've ever had. Of the main course the Bolognese was the best. Ibwould order that again!

I was able to snag a solo spot at the bar/chef's counter about a week in advance for a 7 pm weekday slot, and I'm so glad I listened. I'd never had Hmong food before coming to Minneapolis. It's plentiful here, but it's quickly become clear to me why Vinai is the "it" spot for a nicer Hmong dinner. The menu is vast and broken down by size of dish, which makes it easy to mix and match. Since I was solo and wanted to try as many things as possible, I opted for several smaller things. Pro tip: sitting at the chef's counter unlocks an additional "secret menu" of daily specials you can only order if you're sitting there. These seem like the best part of the menu, and I'm so grateful my friends pushed me to book the chef's counter specifically. What I ordered: - Severine (gin, vodka, white vermouth, lime leaf): A martini riff with a Hmong twist. Really light but interesting. - Curry rice ball (garlic cream cheese and blue crab in a fried ball): Tasty but nothing that blew me away. I'd skip on a future visit. - Grilled shrimp (3 whole head-on grilled prawns topped with green mango and jicama salad, served with purple sticky rice): This was off the secret menu and was unreal. Light, herbal, fresh. Drool-worthy. - Shrimp-pork toast (prawn mixture on Texas toast with apricot chili): So tasty, punchy flavors. My waitress kindly let me get a half order because I was getting full but really wanted to try this AND the fried rice. - Crabby fried rice (generously topped fried rice with blue crab): Half of this became lunch for the next day. - White rabbit candy ice cream scoop topped with olive oil and sea salt: Perfect end to an indulgent, incredible meal. The food here is insanely flavorful, and it's such a fun vibe; even on a Tuesday night, it filled up pretty quickly! I cannot recommend sitting at the bar more: you get really great service, you get to watch the chefs cook, AND you unlock the secret menu. My waitress was a highlight of the night, super helpful with every ordering decision and even brought me a complimentary half order of the shrimp-pork toast when I was torn between two crowd favorites trying to pick my last item. Truly above and beyond. Genuinely hoping work sends me back to Minneapolis soon, if only to eat here again!

The cocktails are fun and definitely use flavors inspired by the culture; I loved that our waiter (the bartender) really spent time with us to explain the menu and his recommendations. I particularly enjoyed the carpaccio - all the toppings were incredibly light, fresh, and flavor...and then pair that with the purple sticky rice...DIVINE. Then we also really enjoyed the catfish lettuce wraps; I'm not usually a catfish lover, but they were so lightly breaded and with the noodles, sauce, and pickled veggies, they were delicious. We tried one of their cold noodle salads, which wasn't my fav. I also tried one of their curry crab rice balls, which was delicious. Overall, I can see why this place is on so many "top restaurants of the twin cities" lists!

The atmosphere of the place gives a nice relaxed and colorful vibe, and the drinks and food menu had a stunning variety. The music was performed by Javier Hernandez and his band and was beautiful. The music here will change day to day, but on this Friday evening ours was beautiful. It included piano, trumpet, bongos, drums and bass. Staff were all attentive without being overbearing and allowed us to enjoy the music, and the food ended up being fantastic. We got deviled eggs (some of the best I've ever had) and Okonomiyaki which in this case was a variation of fried sweet potato and was delicious. Drink variety ranges from fruity cocktails to wine to N.A. beer and they had something for everyone. My only complaint of the evening was the booth we sat in was not very comfortable and it required a lot of fidgeting. Other than this 5/5 experience.
