I didn't have a lot of faith they would be able to fix it, considering the dealer couldn't figure it out. But Larsen Motors took the time, diagnosed the problem and fixed the issue. Throughout the process, they were friendly and took the time to listen to me, two more things i didn't get from the dealer. Indeed, the filter was leaking so I brought it back and they replaced it and cleaned the area. I'm not sure if it was sloppiness on the changing of the filter or just a cheap filter (the replacement when I brought it back was a different brand). It just makes me uncomfortable that they didn't do a good job the first time, even though they did make it good the second time.

I have intermittently come to Hopkins T&A for various issues when I need a repair service nearby…read morethat won't charge an arm and a leg for basic maintenance issues. I am from south central MN and have a family mechanic and tow insurance for the distance there for larger issues, but for smaller issues I would like to not have to drive an hour and drop off my car and borrow one and the whole rigamarole. It's nice to have somewhere nearby. In my experience, I remember the service to be timely, not too costly, and well done. I get a solid, uncomplicated description of the issues otherwise existing in my vehicle as a person without car background, past what I've picked up as a regular commuter, some of what was described to me being more or less what I'd anticipated with a used $3k Toyota Corolla that I've had for a few years now. I appreciate being able to text Lisa regarding issues that come up and negotiate time to come by to get it looked at, so I can pass along accurate written information at my convenience, versus some other auto places in the area I've tried to go through that were phone call only. I kinda piled things up with my car and when I finally took it in I was looking for an oil change, new brake light, tire rotation, and air pressure checked. I was hoping I could have all this done for around $125. I left with an $80 bill and they fixed a problem that I had with a tire sensor that I have had for YEARS (MULTIPLE places have offered to fix this for around $200). I was completely blown away. My care needs full synthetic oil and I've been charged upwards of $100 for just an oil change. Southeast was more than affordable and I got one for around half of that. The printout they gave me was very detailed, they didn't offer anything extra than what I was there for and as mentioned before they actually took the time to put the right amount of air in the tires and informed me my sensor was never even broken to begin with. You do need to make an appointment (but I was still able to get in just 2 days out) and drop your car off in the morning. By noon my car was finished and I was able to pick it up. I will absolutely be back and it is honestly the best experience I've ever had at an auto service place. They are very very honest and if you are still considering someplace else, just look at the other 5 star reviews. Southeast is the best!

Jeff's pays close attention the vehicles when they are in for routine service and has even talked me out of doing some repairs that weren't explicitly needed rather than make money off of me. They can't do everything, they do outsource their tire replacements for example, but for all mechanical issues this is a great place to bring your car.
