Very disappointing experience. The boat shown on the website was not what we received (rented a 10 seater pontoon) . When we arrived, the motor ran poorly, the seats were ripped, there was mold throughout the boat, wasn't cleaned when we got it there was beer bottle caps, there was no radio, and the speed was governed, which made the experience even more frustrating. For $1,000, this rental was absolutely not worth the price. This was supposed to be a fun birthday celebration, but instead the condition and performance of the boat completely took away from the experience. We noticed nicer boats they owned but when asked how we could get the nicer one they said just depends on what's available so you have a 30% chance of getting a nice boat since there was a like 3 nicer boats. We did rent jet skis which were very fun so I'd rent those again but most definitely never the boat. We left feeling misled and disappointed. Very confusing on the website of where they're at they have two locations but trying to book the right location at the marina or up on the hill is very difficult. It doesn't give you the options when you're booking it online even if you call they say book online if they don't help you so where are the locations at and their times of opening is very confusing. The owner and staff are very friendly and professional. Unfortunately the jet ski's were booked for the entire day, but we were able to rent kayak's and watch jealously as everyone sped around us. LOL I'll visit again, and just make sure to pre-book a jet ski next time. An error on my part, but was able to check out the surrounding area, and get some Vitamin D in. read more

Went here this past weekend to camp out for 2 days and had spot 72. The campground are a little dry but overall very nice. We stayed for 2days and the people working there were fantastic. We had a gentleman check up on us the first day and the second day he passed and stop just to tell us to have a good day! Super friendly. The only issues for us was trying to rent a paddle board or Kayak on the campground side. We had to drive 15-20 minutes to the other side of the lake. With over 100 campsites k expected it to be easier to rent gear. The staff at the rental site was very friendly just inconvenient. read more

I am blown away this place doesnt have 100's of reviews! Anyone who has ever been to the lake, any lake, knows it can be alot of work. Larry made the reservations a breeze. Super relaxed vibe. Freddie, Mike, and a couple other guys were also really helpful. WE brought an ice chest that weighed about 150 pounds and they helped us get it where it needed to go, and several other things! I have not done this in years and was very rusty on everything. They made everything easy. They even "capture" you coming in so you do not have to be a boating expert. All of this combined really made for a great day that was really needed! Our kids of 2 families all under 10 were also easily accommodated and had a killer time! I'm always happy when I come and rent here. They usually always have the boat I want and I have rented last minute. The boats are in great shape and so is the rest of their equipment. The guys that work there are always friendly and knowledgeable. Such a short trip from Fresno it is worth the drive. Their prices are reasonable and the cost for gas is reasonable as well. Went on a weekday in July. Rental is available all thru summer and after labor day every weekend until October. Went paddle boarding and then jet ski. Yelp jet ski check in did not work when we attempted it. Ismael the employee was professional, attentive and gave us a thorough jet ski review. The equipment was well maintained. Loved it! Showed up in the middle of the week with some friends who have never paddle before. Rented two paddle boards and a canoe, had a great time out in the lake. The boards were perfect size, had enough room to fully lay out and store my backpack on the board. The canoe fit my friend and his dog comfortably, he even fished! Lol the guys at the trailer were nice, he even had a waterproof case for my phone.. loved that! Helped take the boards down to the water, asked how everything was. Booked a last minute rental and there is no better way to enjoy the lake. Great price , gas is reasonable and boat was well maintained. The online rental proccess was easy and if you are in the fresno the lake is a short drive away from fresno all you do is park and enjoy your rental. We are already planning our next trip and we will be renting again with MLR. read more

AMAZING I had a group of 75 college students attend our annual retreat at Millerton this September. It could not be a better day with the weather, atmosphere and the staff with rentals. The customer service was first class. I recommend that anyone who visits the lake and wants watercraft, this group will surely impress. I had a different situation on the lake with my boat. I made a 911 call for the lake patrol to tow me in as my boat was not starting and I was against a rocky shore line and no control of my vessel. I have a 23 foot cuddy cabin. The dispatcher of 911 called the lake patrol who then called the boat rental to tow me in. The owner of the business came to my rescue. He was to the task pulling me away from danger of any damage by pulling the rear end out first to deep water and re-hooked the front end and tow me to the docks with complete ease. DO NOT RENT HERE. We rented 2 jet skis at the end of the day. As we were going to bring the jet skis back, There was an issue with one of them (the jet ski started up and would shut right back off within seconds) I had tried to call these guys but due to it being after 6:00 already they don't pick up the phone. Goes straight to an automated message. I drove the working jet ski over to the rental area to inform them that there was a problem with the other jet ski which they then went to go pick up. They apparently were able to get it up and going with no issues within seconds of picking the jet ski up. I never signed anything saying that the jet skis were dropped off. The next day I called and spoke to the owner about the situation to see if I was going to be charged/ have any money taken from my $600 deposit that was left. He said there was a $2 per minute late fee that he was going to charge me for only one of the jet skis which was going to come out to about $40-50. Come to find out I get my deposit back and $195 was taken from my deposit. I don't see why I was charged for a small issue like this that I had no control over. Like I said in the beginning. Had a great time on Lake Millerton. We rented a pontoon party barge. It was really easy to rent and the guys were really responsive to questions. We got lost, returned the boat late and actually got stuck too. They were nice enough to come out on speedo to help us out. They were very reasonable even though we caused so much trouble. We rented a pontoon boat. The employees were pleasant but the employee that went over instructions with us didn't know if there was an anchor on the boat or not. We also rented a two person tube for towing. Once we got the boat out of the 5mile per hour zone we quickly releaized that the boat has absolutely no power. It couldn't go over 35 miles per hour. We tried using the tube we paid for but it kept getting pulled under water due to the very slow speed of the boat. The boat was really just too slow to enjoy. It took forever to get anywhere on the lake. This was a huge disappointment for the price we paid. We have rented pontoons at Shaver Lake many times and always had a great time with nice boats! The rental boats at Millerton are extremely old. You'll get nice new boats for the same price in Shaver. I mentioned all of the above when we returned the boat... thinking they would offer to at least reimburse me to the tube cost, but no such thing happened. They said they purposely put very small engines in the boats so that they do go slow and that the pontoons are not really for towing. But mind you... they happily offered me a tube rental and took my payment up front. Will never use this rental company again. read more

This rental place was a horrible experience. They are very unprofessional place. As we were checking out our jet ski the worker rudely picks up the phone while in the middle of checking us out several times. He did not even say excuse me or apologize for the rude actions. They rented us an old patched up jet ski. When we returned it, part of it had a hole in it. We did not crash it as there is nothing to crash into on the lake. They charged us our deposit for it. The worker didn't even try to work with us but just said it happens all the time. We will just take your deposit don't worry. I am sure it happens all the time as the jet skis are old and have lots of wear and tear on them. They continually charge people their deposits for the old patch up jet skis. Warning to all please do not rent from these people. They are over priced and looking to make money anyway they can. They are not about customer service at all. read more

If I could give a lower review I would but unfortunately Yelp won't let me. So rented off a single person kayak while my sisters got a double. I've been kayaking before in a resevior so it wasn't an issue for me. First off when I got into the water, I noticed the kayak wasn't as stable as the one I used before; I initially thought it was because this kayak was smaller and I went in a double before. Anyway I noticed a lot of water getting into my kayak which is okay cause I thought it was due to the holes on the bottom but my kayak kept sinking lower. Finally tipped over in the middle of the lake and yelled for help for 30+ minutes. No one came to help but thankfully I had a life vest. Someone on a jet ski finally came to take me to shore. My sisters got to another part of the shore in their kayak and with my kayak. Went over to them and guess what I saw on my single kayak? A freaking giant crack on the front bottom. Half of my kayak was filled with water which explains why I kept sinking, why I was unstable, and why my kayak was so heavy after. Left the kayaks there and the guy who rented them out to us was like, "where's my kayaks?" Thanks for the concern to my safety! My sister told him off and we didn't get a refund. It's okay $25 ain't worth my life thanks. So if you want a cracked kayak go to Millerton Lake Rentals! read more
