Parking was tricky but this location has more dairy free options than the others. We ordered my kid got vanilla with sprinkles and I ordered two of the seasonal dairy-free options (banana cream pie and something else) - I was not a fan of the dairy free ones because they are coconut milk based and I don't like coconut milk but I powered through because being able to have something outside of sorbet is such a rare treat! The servers were fast and kind. Prices are reasonable. We eat in the space they have and it was fine. There were a few kids in there hanging out and giving the employees a hard time but I was not bothered by them. They do have a bathroom. read more

The guy behind the counter was very sweet and helpful in picking out our flavours of choice. We ended up getting brownie batter and Lavender Lemon Ripple in a cup, with crushed waffle bits on top. Love Millie's! Arguably a contender for the best dairy-free/vegan ice cream. The mint chocolate chip and brownie batter were both dairy free and were absolutely delicious. It tasted no different from typical ice creams and had that same creamy texture. My friend doesn't eat dairy free but also got the mint ice cream and loved it. The brownie batter is very rich and went really well with the mint. The ice cream in the back isn't dairy free, so I haven't tried it, but my boyfriend loved it. I was originally planning to use my Elite perk at the downtown location, but I happened to be in Shadyside last night and have never been to the Shadyside location, so I figured, why not? So, to start, looking for parking in that area is fun (insert sarcasm here lol) but after I finally found a spot a few blocks away, I walked down to Millie's. It's a cute location and nestled in between two other business, but there is a big flag and signage so it's hard to miss. Note: there are steps to get inside this location, so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. Once inside, i noticed the store was decked in Millie's traditional pink and white! There are added holiday decorations, which made the shop even cozier and cuter! For a cold Thursday night, the place was pretty busy, but not overly packed like I've seen sometimes in the summertime! I read other Yelpers reviews and saw that you can split two flavors for a single scoop. I confirmed with the lady working that I could do that, so I decided to try London Fog and Boozy Eggnog. I got mine in a cup and took it home with me. I've been to Millie's numerous times, but these two flavors were new to me. However, Millie's knocked it out of the park again. Grateful to Millie's for the free scoop of ice cream! It's so fun that they have so many different flavors. I opted for the peppermint brownie and maple bourbon pecan. I liked both flavors but found the brownie to be a little too sweet for my liking. It was perfect for my wife though. Only complaint is that the waffle irons where they were making the cones were too hot and the smoke and burning smell permeated everything--including the ice cream and our clothing. I was expecting it to be more fruity and it tasted much more creamy and the mango was an after-thought. Tried the Viet Coffee flavor and wondered where the flavor was. My Fiancé really liked their peanut butter flavor so he ended up getting that but I left without getting anything. Okay I had to add another star because I just came in to try there coconut lime sorbet and it blew my mind. Honestly how could this be so good. When I came in I was at an annoying person who had to try at least three flavors before I settled on one. And I was trying to set a good example for the kids that I was babysitting and only getting one scoop because it was before dinner and I really regretted my choice. That coconut lime was delicious and I wish I had three scoops. I'm looking forward to coming back to Millie's again because I have two people visiting Pittsburgh soon and I am going to take them here just to get my fix of that coconut lime.
