Stop in for our shrimp city fix . My wife and I shared a shrimp boil lunch special. It came with 4 boiled potatoes and 2 ears of corn . We got the garlic butter and old bay seasoning on the side. Which was nice because my wife does not do old bay . The shrimp and all the fixings was $26.99. Our server at the seafood counter used to live in the same small town that we were from in Missouri. She was great. It was nice catching up about the old neighborhood. The space is rather small and everything is takeout, which is why there's not a lot of overhead so every meal is quite reasonable. I stopped by here earlier today with my wife and twins for lunch. We had found Shrimp City on Yelp a couple of days prior and bookmarked it, but the stars aligned for us to head here today. We arrived at the shop around 1 PM as another customer was leaving. Outside of that, we were the only customers inside. The inside of Shrimp City is clean, straightforward, and no-frills. Along one side is a long glass seafood counter showcasing fresh shrimp, oysters, clams, crab meat, and more, all clearly labeled with bright, handwritten signage. Behind the counter, a staff member was working at a stainless steel prep area. Across from that, several upright freezers are packed with frozen seafood and bait, including king crab, snow crab, crawfish, and various shellfish. One fridge even has a bold sign reminding customers not to forget their bait, offering items like shrimp, squid, and cigar minnows. There are also shelves of sauces, seasonings, and cold drinks. For lunch, my wife and I ultimately decided on 2 pounds of XL Gulf shrimp (31-35 count). We asked to have them steamed with Old Bay and garlic butter. The lady who waited on us behind the counter was super nice, and we had a pleasant conversation with her while the shrimp steamed. After they were finished, we headed back to where we were staying to eat. The shrimp ended up being excellent. The meat was sweet, and the balance of Old Bay and garlic butter was spot on. You could taste both, but neither overpowered the other. All too quickly, we had made it through our 2 pounds of shrimp, and my wife immediately told me I should rate it a 5. If I had to go here again, the only change I would make is to have chosen the peeled and deveined shrimp they offered just to make my life easier. Was in Panama City for a bit. Went here for Gulf Shrimp. Bought 3 lbs. and cooked them that day. Just boiled in plain water, no spices. Let me tell you I won't eat the shrimp at home again. Shrimp city continues to be a solid place to get quality seafood year after year. They've got a wide selection of freshly caught fish and other seafood, all of which is fantastic. My favorite is their snapper and old bay seasoned shrimp. They also have a variety of prepared fridge and freezer foods, such as dips, boudin and other sausages, sauces, and frozen raw food like calamari. Workers here are super nice and love what they do. Asked for some guidance because we were first timers. Both ladies were very helpful, almost like a comedy act, one filling in for the other when there was air time. Got a pound of steamed shrimp with Cajun flavoring, a couple a crab cakes from the freezer, two pieces of fresh grouper and a small serving of tuna spread. Haven't eaten anything yet, but everything looked fresh and succulent. The place is small and very clean. The product is fresh except for a few items in the freezer. Will go back just because of the friendliness. High recommend the experience. Addendum - 24 hours later. We ate the shrimp for lunch - delicious. Peeling the shrimp was a drag. This place exceeded our expectations. The shrimp were absolutely delicious. We tried the pink variety and had them steamed with Old Bay. When we got home I served it with a salad and crusty sourdough bread. It was ten times better than the measly portion we had at the "fancy" restaurant down the street. The owners are super helpful and polite. One couple we ran into said they've been going there since the 1980's. We like it so much we're going back today. Seriously, I paid twenty dollars for one skewer of shrimp the night before with about 8 small shrimp (I couldn't call them even medium). This was at a very popular restaurant just down the street. They were dry and a bit cold too. I know the dining out experience is nice, but for actual TASTE and VALUE this is the way to go. The shells peel off almost magically and they're already deveined, so it's not necessary to purchase the shell off. Go ahead and make the stop here. Small and clean, clearly family run. Not a huge selection, but what they have is good. Expect anything other than shrimp to be frozen. They own the restaurant next door which is currently closed due to a kitchen fire. We chose a few pounds of deveined local shrimp with old bay seasoning and butter. Highly recommend Shrimp City. After looking through reviews, we decided to try it out. We order 4 lbs of the Royal Reds Shrimp that they steamed at the store in the few minutes while picking up. We tried two types the Old Bay and the butter garlic both were amazing, everyone in the group loved the shrimp. The place doesn't look like much and is easily passed by but their food was great and the service was amazing as well. I'm not a big tuna fan, a friend had us try the smoked tuna dip and we are now hooked! I will not make a trip to PCB again without buying more! Not to mention the best customer service and care for their customers. Our friends are regulars there and I mentioned them when I went and bought the smoked tuna dip, I was in a hurry and left my credit card. He tracked me down through them and then proceeded to ask if I would like for him to mail my credit card. I said that would be fine and he did, but not only did he mail me my card he went the extra step of wrapping and taped up the card where it was not obvious at all what was in the envelope. Seafood shop Shrimp Scott is next door to pier 77. I don't know it's them that caught the seafood they are selling. But at least from my side, the shrimp we bought taste good. We have them seasoned 1lb with Cajun seasoning and took one lb to our rental property. The Cajun one taste nice and my almost 2-year old boy loves that. The other lb, we took 5 from them to cook congee with white mushroom. Finally, the congee tastes just like you put inside lots of MSG, means, it taste so nice!
