Karen was so sweet, she introduced herself and went above and beyond in making sure our stay was delightful. The room was much bigger than anticipated, and we really enjoyed the hardwood floors. We had easy access to the balcony, with great views of Main Street and were within walking distance to so many fun shops and restaurants. They give you a door code to get into the room hallway and another code for your room door...how cool is that? We had the "wine" themed room.it was like a small studio apartment with a small electric fireplace. The room also had a fridge, a microwave and a coffee pot with the normal pods, creamers and sugars. At the end of the hallway there was a super cool balcony overlooking Main St. at night we sat out and listened to the band play at Kactus Kate's. Small bathroom was super clean with lots of towels. Overall this was a great stay. Super convenient at a competitive price.

Overall, a terrific spot! Cottonwood has numerous restaurants, wineries, and curio shops (we can recommend the Tavern Grill on Main Street and Merkin Winery /Trattoria, up on the small hill). The accommodations are wonderful, as others have stated. Clean, modern, very comfortable, well-equipped. The shared outdoor fireplaces are really nice in the evening. The views to the north/northeast are wonderful, looking over the Verde River, hills, and mountains - great sunset material. However, be aware that the other half of the view (north/northwest) overlooks an RV park and a concrete plant (we think), and then up towards Jerome. Additionally, we heard some periodic low rumbling sounds (trucks on the road, possibly). We recommend Suite 5 as it is farthest from the road and enjoys windows on the side as well as front/rear. Overall 5 stars, definitely!

In addition to teaching beginners how to kayak, they provide histories of the local Arizona landscape that I just geek out on. The verde river is a great river to begin kayaking. Mike was our guide today and he was great. Well look forward to coming back next summer.
