They refused and responded that the dress is old -- it's not, it's new -- and claimed their liability was limited -- also not correct when you totally ruin a garment due to your own actions. Of course there were still some worries especially since this is such a sentimental piece of garment that I'm having cleaned & preserved. I received a notification this week that my dress was ready for pick up so was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they finished. For a flat rate of $500 for cleaning & preservation, I thought it was a pretty good deal. My dress was beautifully packaged & the garment bag I dropped it off in was also returned back to me. For that price, the alterations should have been done in a couple of days, not over a week. To make matters worse, the receipt said they would be ready to pick up at 5:00 PM, but the shop closes exactly at 5:00 PM, which makes absolutely no sense. When I picked up my pants, they couldn't locate them because they had my phone number under a different name. My receipt had my correct name and phone number on it. You would think whatever they printed out would be what's in their system. If a business is going to charge top-tier prices for basic alterations, they need to manage their scheduling and organization properly. Extremely frustrating experience.
