They trimmed my two pants for $40 and didn't keep the original hem. They look very ugly and I ended up throw my pants out. This time I have a silk dress to clean which looks like some stain on it. I asked them to just clean the stain and they said I have to clean it all. I agreed and today I went to pick it up, I paid $15 and they did not say a thing. After I came home, I see the "stain" is still there, I went back to the store and they said it is not stain but color faded. They could have told me earlier before I asked them to wash, or they should say something or compensate me while I pick it up. It is so sneaky and overpriced in every way. read more

Went to have my suit dry cleaned ahead of my wedding. They took about five days, which is totally fine. When I came to pick it up, they lost the garment bag it came in - which is, again, not ideal but fine. The real problem is that when I went to put my vest on the morning of my wedding, a button had completely come off that they hadn't told me about. They either didn't notice, which isn't great, or hadn't felt the need to tell me, which is worse. Luckily, my wedding party solved this by cannibalizing a button from inside my suit jacket but I very nearly looked ridiculous in all my wedding photos. They overall did not do a terrible job cleaning and pressing the suit but this felt like kind of a big error. I suspect they didn't want to say anything so I wouldn't argue with the price, but they're a tailor as well so they could have just fixed it there for me rather than scrambling the morning of. This is easily the best dry cleaner in the area. I've tried several others including some of the tech driven start ups but nobody can compete with quality or service. It's a few miles drive from my house but the extra time required to get over to south city is worth it. The owners are super friendly and detail oriented. It's gotten to the point where I don't even use the claim check- they just recognize me and know my clothes. Also important is the tailoring skills. The owner is very handy when it comes to mending clothes and she's been able to salvage some of my favorite items that I thought beyond repair. Parking can be a bit of a hassle. There are plenty of metered spots, but you may need to walk a block. I usually keep a few quarters in the car and also use the Parkmobile app for longer stays. read more

Great spot to get clothes cleaned. *Cash only! I had a nasty spill on my wool coat and I was lowkey devastated since I just bought it a few months ago. I never really use dry cleaners so I wanted to find a place that was convenient and get things done without a fuss. When I dropped off my coat on a weekday the parking was fine, but it was definitely more tricky on a weekend. Not impossible, just had to park a few blocks away. I really appreciated the customer service, the people who worked there were very kind. When I came in to drop off my coat, I told the man working about what happened and he told me not to worry. When I picked up, the lady working and I chatted a bit, and it was very pleasant overall. They both gave me "older relatives who want the best for me" kind of vibe, which made the whole experience feel less like a chore. I have no clue how pricing usually works but it was $18 for my coat which felt fair to me considering how clean it was afterwards. There were no traces of stains or any weird odors, which was impressive given how bad the spill was. Overall a good experience and I'd come again for any dry cleaning needs. read more

I needed to find a spot where I could dry clean my Burberry trench coat. There were a few stains, and the trench needed a good steam as it was wrinkled from heavy use. I dropped it off on a Saturday, and it was ready by Thursday. All the stains were gone. The trench looks as good as new. No wrinkles. The belt was also cleaned and pressed as well. And it cost $20. I came on Tuesday she had 3 pieces altered by Thursday. I trusted her with my expensive one of a kind wide leg pants and for $40 altered them beautifully. Amazing! I would leave no stars if possible. Dropped off multiple items for dry cleaning and pointed out the stains. I came to pick up my items, and the majority of the stains were still there. Pointed out that the stains were there, and they said they couldn't get it out. These were water stains, so why couldn't they get it out? Also, my other item, once I got home, still smelled the way it did when I dropped it off to get cleaned. The items were not cleaned, and they charged a ridiculous amount of money. They only take cash, they didn't clean a thing, and they should not be able to run a business. So sick of people providing lousy customer service and not doing their job, and expecting payment. Had a really bad experience; brought about 8 items in a couple months ago, they all came back in plastic, which I kept them in Not the type of clothes I wear often, and when I unpacked one a couple of days ago it smelled bad; definitely NOT like it had been cleaned AT ALL! So I checked the other items and sure enough: all the same, non-clean smell. I went back with the clothes and was basically brushed off very rudely. It was implied that I was lying (!) The lady did everything she said she would to my clothes and more-even she even used my personal brand of detergent. The baby clothes were soft as well as my bedding. She even assisted me with my bags without asking! When I got home all the clothes were sorted by type and style. I will definitely be going back. This one is the GOOD dry cleaners on Grand Ave. There's another one that I've heard bad things about from my friends and I don't want people getting confused. They are the one right next to the So City Shoe Repair and near Galli's. This is a mom and pop dry cleaners and they are so nice and friendly without being too talky or nosy. The 2nd time I walked in there the woman remembered my name. Shirts laundered and pressed are like $2 apiece so we pretty much never have to iron anything anymore. We also have used them for regular dry-cleaning, alterations, and faux fur throw cleaning (and that can be hard to find) and they have always done a great job. Also, they always have all of our stuff ready on time and there have never been any surprises. The only thing that might be an issue for some is that I don't think that they take credit cards - just cash and checks. We actually look forward to going the cleaners now because they are just so great! read more
