The salad that comes with dinner
Andrea T.

I was mentioning to a co-worker that I would be in Moline and his first response was, "Are you going to get some Grinders?" I had no clue what he was talking about so he went on to explain their melt-in-your-mouth garlic bread and great food overall. I figured I would try it out. The place used to be some fast food place and it still has outdated chairs and booths but I didn't mind. They have a small ordering counter and the guy behind the counter was so nice and helpful! Their processes reminded me a lot of Fazoli's but the food is way better! I ordered the Manicotti dinner based on other reviews and got the garlic bread. I opted for their house Italian salad dressing and it was good. The manicotti was terrific! The meat sauce had great flavoring and was not clumpy (which I liked). The garlic bread truly was melt-in-your-mouth! Awesome food overall! The place had a steady coming and going of customers and I can see why. I will never again have to ask what Grinders is and will very willingly come back again!

Supposed to be a chef salad. Only had lettuce, chicken, and cheese. Had to pay extra for the chicken and cheese.

Got the family bucket of spaghetti. Was a ton of noodles and one scoop of sauce. No meat. Just sauce. Cheese bread was burnt. Garlic bread was good and fresh. Paid 10$ for a chef salad. No vegetables. Just lettuce. And chicken and cheese that I had to pay extra for. Not worth the $72. Should have went to McDonald's.

Baked chicken sandwich

Grinders has always been a favorite until today. We ordered 2 lunch meals (there were 2 of us) and a family feast. Even though we paid $50 for our meal, they wouldn't bring the family feast out to the table so we couldn't eat any of it since it was a to go item. Not sure the reason behind this"rule" since we had paid already.. Here's a picture of my baked chicken sandwich.. 5 chunks of chicken on one half. Shouldn't this be a chicken breast if it's a sandwich? Or at least say it's chunks on the menu? In addition it was over cooked. Disappointed to say the least and a 4% charge for using a credit card on top of it.

The rude lady. She's had an attitude for years. Needs to be fired.

A Quad Cities original! Great food! Great prices! Locally family owned! The Gondola bread is awesome! Best pasta at a normal price in QC!

I drove by the Wunder Y thousands of times before I knew it was a bar. I'm guessing my experience…read moreis not unique. There's no sign, just a few windows, and with parking in back, most people use the rear entrance. It wouldn't be difficult to mistake the place for something much shadier than what it is. That's not to say, however, that the Wunder Y is without a hint of shady charm. It's rather steeped in it, actually, a dive to the core. Its patrons have made it into somewhat of an underground Moline institution. I'd never heard anyone even mention the Wunder Y, but once my friends and I finally started making the trip, we couldn't go there without running into someone we knew. For this reason, I like to think of it as my own little speakeasy. It's a great place to run into classmates, your old minor league baseball coach, and people that you thought were dead. They're all down at the Wunder Y. The shuffleboard table is a big draw, and I've seen a few people get hustled with it, insofar as you can get hustled at shuffleboard. But if a couple old guys walk up and ask if you and your buddy are up for a game, it's a pretty safe bet that you're going to get your ass whooped. If you're just a spectator, ask if you can operate the ancient scoreboard. That thing's going to be on Antiques Roadshow some day. I should mention that I once hated the Wunder Y. It grows on you a little bit with each visit, though, like a nicotine addiction or a rash. Best dive in the Quad Cities, which is saying something.

Steak nights are Monday's and Friday's. Great meal for $11.99. Cash only though.read more
